All the theatrics for a little onyx/jade/plastic (...LOL) thing! I reminded me of the Hawaiian lava sculpture trinkets. Zhou was a mastermind. YQ asked Zhou if the traps were a replica of the traps in Kunlun Mountains. It looked like he was also interested in finding Kunlun Mountains.

The traps leading to the main room were complicated. The podium looked simple. Of course, the main threat was the advancing statues...unless it was all for show.

DQY is a well rounded individual. The only thing I don't see, is that when he comes across someone who is injured or ill, like Master Zhou or the ex-Sect leader who was poisoned, DQY does not step forward to examine them professionally, as a doctor. With Zhou, we know that DQY would determine that he was terminally ill, so Zhou fended him off.

When he built this death trap, Zhou didn't have a sharp minded person like Yunqi around, who could figure out puzzles and traps. In modern times, Yungqi might solve Rubicks Cube within a minute.

True! It was more of a test for Yunqi. It was probably very easy to pull out the Soul Pursuit Order thing. I remember when she told Yunqi about the pancakes. It must have been training for Wu Shuang, to handle the trap.

I just finished episode 28. I am feeling the drag...especially whenever Luo Jiutian shows up. I thought the old woman resembled Cui Yanzhi. I wondered if it was the same actress playing two roles, but the two actresses are listed in the castlist.

LOL Not complaining...just that some people are jumping the gun, as they say.

I am relieved there are 10 more episodes only.

Iqiyi posted episode 27 and 28, so I hope we see these two episodes over the weekend. The cliffhanger in ep 26 was 🤯. I can't believe WS just stuck her hand in the trap, without evaluating the equipment. Yunqi might have come up with a solution, like fishing it out of the contraption.

I dropped it for a week, but went back to it. Xu Kai's character is well designed and well written, and well acted. Ding Yunqi's fashion sense and hair styling are very good.

I thought we had seen the last of Luo Jutian, a dozen or more episodes ago, but he resurfaced, wearing a bad wig. Is that, his idea of a disguise? Now, he calls commander Hu, "Father". Is he a blood related sibling of Yunsong and Fengling? He still thinks he will marry Wu Shuang. Get a life, Pattern Boy!

That makes good sense. I don’t understand the business about the Penta Sect members not allowed to marry. Yunsong's father had three children, not counting Pattern Boy. Was Sect leader allowed to marry, but not disciples?

Zhou's disciple with the glasses is annoying. Every other scene, he is always touching his eyeglasses. If the glasses were bothering him, the actor should have stopped wearing them, or get the optometrist to adjust the nose pads.
