It is a love/hate relationship with Ma Wang and Pa Wang. When they put on the sycophantic hats, and when they talk BS nonsense, I cringe. When they exude widsom, I think they are OK.

After watching ep 24, I dislike Qinglai as much as I disliked Old Wan. He is presumptuous and boastful. For an industrious working man, he is lacking in honesty. He has everyone believing that Mr Xu is his uncle. Once a lie is said, it cannot be taken back. It's going to bite him in the ***. He expects favors from Mr Xu and Qingzhi, as Qingzhi rises up the career ladder. Even if he had little education, he should be trying to find ways to utilize his farming skills.

After watching ep 24, I dislike Qinglai as much as Chuanglai. He is presumptuous and boastful. Village people should still have integrity and honesty, even if they are lowly educated. He is just like his parents.

He has his coworkers thinking he is Mr Xu's nephew. That will get him and Mr Xu into trouble eventually. He should shut his mouth, and be glad he has a job. He looks like a slouch in his uniform.

In an episode, they clarify that is the year is 2009. Smart phones were around then, I am guessing.

Qingzhi is the type of person who wants to please everyone on opposite sides. He does not precisely lie, but he is dishonest, by not telling the truth. He learnt this from his parents.

Dramacool acquires the content without permission. I think the production company or Youku suppressed DC from obtaining the episodes with subs. The subs will probably show up later.

It is aggravating and frustrating to see the mentality of the Wan village people. However, the city people are just as corrupt or dishonest. Truth is being stretched to suit one's agenda.

I was hoping that the officials would uncover Chuanglai and his friends' attack on Xingyun, and detain him.

I just watched ep 21 and 22 with the correct English subs, and I want to smack Qjnglai in the head. He told the security team he works with, that Mr Xu is his uncle. He is offended that Mr Xu does not acknowledge him. Now the superior is giving a warning to Xu about nepotism. This drama shows how miscommunication and presumption will backfire. All the characters are flawed. Only Guan Tao seems to be the rational person.

I watched the first ten episodes, and I noticed that ML's scenes were brief. It 's like if he married CSS, he would be the matrilocal husband (...reference to My Heroic Husband).

She should have followed him to the border. That would be a better adventure than dealing with the whiny females and relatives.

I am laughing at the Puppy Boy comments. I didn't like him when he showed up in ep 10, and told Big Brother that he wanted to break off the engagement. He looks like he hasn't shaved yet. LOL

Puppy Boy is an accurate description. Is he 16 or 18?

This plot sounds like a big soap opera melodrama. LOL LMAO

LBY looks much older than 21. Wow, in ancient times, young men were in charge of the military....because the older generals probably died in on the battlefront. These days, if you placed a 21 years' old person in charge of a department, you would be asking for trouble.

I dropped it at ep 10, when the bridge fell, and Niao Niao was gleeful. The whiny females were irritating me. "The talented Yuan Shen of Bailu Mountain, and the aristocrat Lou Yao" look like plot filler. Why Niao Niao would bat an eyelid at them is beyond me. Someone said ep 11 and 12 were very good, so I might pick it up again.
