I think the presentation of the story is much better than Si Jin, which I liked, by the way. There is no choppy flashbacking to disrupt the attention, and no overt BGM.

I have seen Chen Du Ling in at least six dramas, and she stands out in this role. I finally appreciate her acting skills. She will be on my Top 10 Chinese Actresses list.

She might be pretending, to gain Zhuang's trust.

I went searching for ep 18, after I finished 17. LOL They know how to keep the viewers hooked.

In episode 17, Hanyan or Funxi asked Zhuang why he came to the temple. He answered that he came to take her (...Hanyan) away. How did he know that she would be there? Was he making it up as he went along? I guess he suspected that Hanyan made the soup, and put the message in the pot.

I am amazed at the plot contrivance between ML and FL, to fool Zhuang. I don't know how it will lead to the divorce letter. Hanyan and Yunxi worked on the script or are acting spontaneously.

I hope so. Zhuang is vindictive. I would be shocked, if he allowed the divorce.

Sad that Laifu died. The kidnappers and the couple who bought the child were cruel. Yaoyao's parents were ignorant and heartless. Poor Granny! Her son is useless, and doesn't deserve her.

The writer could have changed the script, and let Laifu live at the end. The script is badly written. The best actor was Da Huang. he only likeable characters are Laifu, Granny and Yao Yao.

I am watching The Glory. It is the midpoint of the drama. The Zhuang family members are annoying, especially the half-sister.

That was the cutest scene. Her face lit up, when he said that.

Hiding among the bushes... he wasn't very smart.

Episode 16 was starting to get interesting. They really should switch back to two episodes daily. There is no excuse for stretching out the drama. Are they going to drag it out over three weeks?

I watched episode 16. I was barking up the wrong tree. Noble Consort married into the Royal family, and suffered for two decades. When Ruan Xiwen went out in public, it was for a good cause. Now, she has a chance to walk again.

She persuaded Mother to go to the banquet. She subjected Mother to the humiliation and ridicule. While it might expose the enemy, it also is leading up to Mother's death.

I was wondering the same thing.

I am wondering if Noble Consort was also in love with Yuwen, and was jealous of Ruan. She might have killed Ruan's family out of spite.

Was Noble Consort jealous because Ruan Yiwen was more popular than her, and also jealous that Yuwen loved Ruan. Perhaps she was also in love with him, and wanted to marry him. Did she kill Ruan's family to ruin her?. Ruan was persuaded to marry Zhuang, who was mad if the unborn baby was Yuwen's. He sent the baby to the countryside, and broke Ruan's legs out of spite and jealousy. Will it be revealed that Zhuang was castrated? I don't see the point of saving the Zhuang family from execution, only to have it proven later that Zhang is Pei's adopted son. He and his family will be executed, by law.

He does side-eye acting. He's manipulative and calculating.
