After watching the first 5 minutes, I realized it was a remake of the Korean drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal which I enjoyed very much. So I hope this remake will be of similar enjoyment; especially since I don't have to rely on subtitle to follow the story. Update: in the middle of episode two, I am quacking like a duck!!! ?
Idiot!! Epi 28 is making me face palm, smacking forehead frustrated! Arghh! Epi 38: How did he managed to live so long and become legendary?! Stupid! Argh! Okay, Okay, so it was explained towards the end of the episode... ??
The first season didn't leave me too much impression, but the second season was entertaining. The story was good with some humor. The negative side is the 2nd season ended with a cliffhanger that goes straight into the 3rd season which was a bit disappointing.
I hesitated on watching Joy of Life even though I was attracted to the drama by Xiao Zhan. I finally decided to watch the beginning to see if it was interesting. Honestly, I kept watching because Han Hao Lin was great as Fan Xian. Great actor with a potential future in acting.
Anyone understands how Prince Nan Ping's mother, Zhao Tai Fei, fits in the royal family tree? Since Prince Nan Ping is the Emperor's nephew and the Empress Dowager's grandson, that means there are three generation involved; but Zhao Tai Fei and the Empress Dowager holds the same generation title. Tai Fei and Tai Hou are in the same generation harlem, so that should put Prince Nan Ping and the Emperor in the same generation. How is Prince Nan Ping a nephew and how is Zhao Tai Fei related in the royal family?
I'm watching The King's Avatar and just realized he is Die Feng. What a complete opposite of characters that I didn't recognize him until I looked up his bio!
I agree with most of your comments. I am half way through the novel and already I do not sense the drama and the…
Same here. I also wish to see these dramas depicting these novels truly. Unfortunately, due to circumstances financially, politically, and/or culturally, it would be a rare find. Even so, such bxb stories like this will be in the adult section and will also have restriction rating. If produced outside of mainland China, we will also lose the cultural setting I like about these mainland stories. On the positive side, at least we can still read these novels. What a killjoy if the stories have whiteouts throughout the whole novel!!
I just finished the novel after trying to watch the series, and dropping it. I’m honestly really disappointed…
I agree with most of your comments. I am half way through the novel and already I do not sense the drama and the novel are the same except for the characters' names. Probably because of the censorship they have to rewrite most of the story. If I do not compare the drama against the novel, I feel the actors did well and especially Gu Qing Pei; I actually admired him after watching the drama. Regarding the English translated novel in Wattpad, beware there are two translated version. One more detailed and has better grammar than the other; the only downside to this better translated version is that the first 26 chapters are summaries.
The drama was really not clear about this, I only understood after reading the comments and the novel. Idk why…
I think if they had just verbally provided the answer, it would have ruined many viewers' intrigue. I like that they didn't; otherwise, I may not have re-watched it as sooner as I would have.
It's the song he plays. It was a song written by Lan Zhan that only he and Wei Ying knows.
Thanks!! I was looking for verbal clues. Was it when the Ghost General appeared near DaFu Mountain while Mo XuanYu played the flute? Lan Zhan held his hand to stop him in the middle of hypnotizing the GG?
Update: in the middle of episode two, I am quacking like a duck!!! ?
The following link has chap 1 - 26 in summaries only but the rest of the chapters in the novel are fully translated:
