Congrats to Yi Yang Qian Xi for winning the Best Actor award at the 38th Golden Rooster Award , making him the youngest winner in the history of this prestigious award.👏🎉🎊
I was in China this September and he's literally everywhere... Boy may be unknown to intl audience (mainly the ones who're only chasing idol dramas) but it looks like he is a powerhouse in his country. He deserves every bit of his success though because he's one of the most talented c-actor of his generation imo.
1. Sad ending/Bad ending 2. Slightly implied romance in first half to nonexistent in second half (I'm talking about the main CP here) 3. As for fighting scenes, Cheng Yi delivered as always.
I'm okay with that but then don't bait the audience with that misleading title 'Sword and BELOVED' ...better if…
Interesting...that name indeed fits better ...still intl audience won't go as far as searching for the original title in the end. Drama has been advertised as a romance (drama is part of the iQiyi heartbeat love series after all) and it didn't deliver on that front (I'm only talking about main CP here) I'm a romance sucker and had high hopes for that pairing after being pleasantly surprised by second part of the franchise. (Cheng Yi x Li Yi Tong was like a dream pair for me but unfortunately production had to ruin their collaboration with such a lackluster script )
I know many people would disagree but I actually love the writing of this one. I love how the writer maintains…
I'm okay with that but then don't bait the audience with that misleading title 'Sword and BELOVED' ...better if they stuck with first title: Fox Spirit: WangQuan Arc.
Did you not see the very last few seconds of the last episode. She is alive and so is he, though she returned…
I felt nothing when this scene happened...it should have been impactful but instead it left me cold and empty. Why? Because writers failed to develop their romance in the first place (or didn't care) Separation was needed but not this long. QingTong's character changed a lot during that time and when they met up again, it looked more and more like she felt indebted to him just because he saved her life (till the bitter end, she was addressing him as 'Young Master Fugui', proving she didn't love him as a man imo)
Whatever will be the ending of this one , 'Love in Pavilion' remains the best out of the 3. Still Cheng Yi's Fugui will always have a special place in my heart ❤️ (hope he will have a HE, even if alone)
iQiyi decided to release Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 3 to crucify us even more (heat index is almost reaching 10000 and it's the premiere's day) I'm so pissed at iQiyi right now 😤 They clearly know what they're doing here...suppressing Cheng Yi and screwing him up over and over again.... (sidelined in his own drama wtf😪🤬🙄)
Edit: I'm not shading STOTD3 here, just saying... I know it's a popular, well-loved and successful franchise....just think timing is bad, that's all🥲
