Agreeing with you about the time it takes for their reunion! I prefer they meet after 2 yrs instead of 3+ months or so given what happened in the icy lake. One thing though I kept wondering how ZGY can survive because if I'm not mistaken he was saved by his teacher from his mother's side in the novel, and it's a bit unbelievable. I prefer the darkness and struggle at CQ's side during all those 2 years maintain her dreams, but also to do what she can for ZGY. However if the drama is truly following the novel, the Yan Bei rebellion etc may take up up too many episodes? In any case, I'm enjoying the drama, it makes sense for ZGY to return back to the lake once he can escape from the Ximeng King and coincidentally saved CQ again. Also the drama needs a more reasonable amount of screen time for each lead (to make viewers happy😊). It also keeps the suspense on what else can change!

There is flashback that summarizes the gist of PA, but imo to exactly understand the deep entanglements among the characters and the details of past events, having watched PA will be less confusing to viewers. However some part of the story may be altered here from PA. Also fyi I remember I felt PA was too many fillers and I dozed off watching without missing anything important to the story.

But I'm glad that the drama explained what happened. It was a bit non sensical in the novel how he could become powerful after what happened. But again, I didn't read the whole novel, just bits and pieces.

Shouldn't she be angry after all that happened to her... I find her expression fitting, she was a general! And although the icy lake scene in Rebirth was surprisingly emotionless and fast with questionable sequence, but again it was a battle and it should be fast moving so I feel it's more fitting... Ngl I watched PA icy lake scene many times as I liked it, but I did wonder how Yan Xun even allowed them the time...

Technically the ML didn't kill Prince Cheng although if it went for trial, probably the evidence would say otherwise. Also based on the new law, if ML gets convicted, he will get reduced sentence lol. Overall though, considering how much worse things were before the ML and FL came into the picture (i.e. look at the magistrate in each county before), the ML did use his power and position to uphold certain justice which was made possible by the FL. In small scale, they did allow for the utopian world.

The Haiya mystery framework is interesting, but for some reason I can't keep my eyes opened watching the recent episodes. Need to watch when I'm totally fresh!

It implies that the law as is cannot cover every single case. Which is why a crime as serious as murder should not be covered up for whatever reason, by right. But again it's not that black and white... had the murder weapon not concealed, think the Emperor would do something to find a scapegoat and even more ppl would have died. The twins mother thought for her baby's survival, for sure any sane mother would have done the same. Unfortunately her son turned out to be a monster.

In ep #37, YC and QW discussed that they would clear those wrongly accused, and YC would support Prince Sui to inherit the throne. And the last scene with Grand Princess, QW had become SW. I was under the impression they would follow this through?

About MM, IMO the beginning and ending episodes of MM are unfortunately the least impressive episodes. Almost dropped MM too as I didn't like the world building either, except that at Ep 5, the treasure hunt and the demon king grew on me. So now I'm going to watch ARP's dramas.

I think Avenuex expects case solving drama like Imperial Coroner, but CD is not really such, to me it's more like romance/mystery; the drama itself provides clues that lets us guess who's the murderer. The FL does have plot armors, but it can be said she's blessed too! Lol. I enjoy this drama a lot.

Yes, that's my understanding too. But in the next preview, I wonder which house she is about to enter in (the one with the front door sealed). Guess we'll find out soon.

Better not creating controversy with killing of animals; I'm glad the drama didn't follow.

It is Qin Liang's (Qin Wan's father) house so it makes sense for her (as Qin Wan) to move there.
