I apologize if this is too personal, but I'm interested in the theme of females dressing as males in dramas. Is…
I think it’s because women were kinda useless back then! Hmm maybe not useless but not interesting for modern dramas! No one is interested to watch a story about a woman who’s cooking, cleaning, and giving birth! That’s boring and repetitive! Women weren’t allowed to study, have interesting hobbies like archery or horse riding or even gambling! They weren’t allowed to participate in politics, planning and strategizing for wars or even even serving in the army obviously! So to make to story semi realistic and suitable for the time, they made female characters cosplay as men! Otherwise how else they can go outside, run and fight and scheme!
Love him, HATE the misogynist noir genre. Must skip drama for me, even despite SJS oppa there ...
I watched another short drama by this same director and from what I remember, the male characters are the center of the story however, there’re some female side characters that are written pretty decently! To me that’s enough! As long as they don’t write female characters like idiots 🤷♀️ The bigger issue is when the screenwriter is a woman!! And they only write mostly-male centric dramas! What’s up with those! -___- for example Hospital Playlist writer!

Why misogynistic? I don’t see anything wrong with the plot? If it’s because the cast is all-male cast?I don’t necessarily think that’s misogyny! there’s some female-centric dramas, do you consider them misandry? I always complain about how 90% of political/detective/law thriller kmovies have all male cast members! But I don’t know for dramas! Usually they’re much better! In my opinion, it’s okay to have all-male cast for dramas and movies I don’t think that misogynistic but when it’s literally 90% of the time that’s another story!
South Korea must be one of the shittiest countries to live in. Rapists are treated with kid gloves. Sex abusers…
Most countries are shitty to women tbh! Only few are less shitty (some European+USA+Canada)! All countries in Asia, Africa, South America are the shittiest! including mine (Russia)
