I was around a bit when this show was actually airing. And looking at all the series that have come out or are currently airing, this one is easily number one for me this year. It’s just so rare to see a show watched by a genuinely large group of normal viewers, not toxic fans, not surrounded by any of that drama. What’s great is that this is truly a show for adults. It’s not childish, it doesn’t rely on cringey fanservice you can’t even watch. It’s just two real people on screen, not skinny, botoxed, yaoi faces, and none of the weird stuff you so often see in BLs these days that I honestly can’t stand anymore. I also love that it’s focused on just one couple, without wasting time on random filler subplots. Honestly, this is a masterpiece when it comes to TV series. I don’t even think of it as a BL anymore, for me, it’s simply an amazing romance. And as far as romances go, nothing better has come out this year. I’m also really grateful I could spend some time with you all while the show was airing. This place feels like such a safe space for anyone who’s tired of the toxic, weird stuff happening in other fandoms. So yeah, I highly recommend it. It’s fantastic.
I really missed a show like this. Just real men, not plastic dolls or mannequins full of botox. They’re super handsome, but in a masculine, natural way. And thankfully, none of that clichéd yaoi top/bottom nonsense they keep feeding BL fans. This is what I wanted. A story about one couple without unnecessary fillers. The way they act with just their eyes, it’s perfection. I can already tell this will be one of my top 2 shows this year, along with Reset.

It’s hilarious how there’s this little group here doing nothing but patting each other on the back. Even funnier how they’re all defending a plot that literally includes rape. I’m pretty sure they’re like 10 years old and have zero life experience. And the best part? The moment you disagree with them, they throw a tantrum and start sending private threats. You are absolutely right. I completely agree. Including rape in a storyline is purely a choice, and it could have been avoided. Saying that it’s “just fiction” is harmful, especially for people who have experienced SA. Claiming that “the Omegaverse has its own rules” makes no sense to me. When I watched the show, I saw rape and I don’t care if unicorns were flying in the sky at the same time. What shocks me the most is how angry people get when someone says they are not a fan of “rape.” Truly shocking.

I’m not really sure. I’ve been watching some Chinese dramas, and they tend to make the male characters a bit aggressive. Like, we know what’s happened, but from the perspective of an ordinary viewer it might just look as if Wen Lang took what he wanted and that’s it. I’m really curious how they’re going to portray it.
