I couldn’t help but notice the inconsistencies either but I’m not gonna let that stop me from enjoying the show for now. I do have to admit though that I made the mistake of watching this right after watching the new Khemjira episode so the drop in production quality was really noticeable 😭
I could be completely wrong on this, but my thought is maybe since Isomura Hayato has a bigger role in the new season of Alice in Borderland that is coming out in a few days, they’ve decided to wait for the release and promotion of this show which are both produced by Netflix? maybe cause then he can focus on promoting for Alice in Borderland and then do separate promotions for Soul Mate. Could be totally wrong though, just a thought I had lol
I dont mind this show but the amount of times it has shown us the same flashbacks is a bit much and honestly i was skipping through this episode a lot because of the amount of rime all the characters just spent staring at each other. the prolonged staring in shows is one of my least favorite things
first of all, I have not read the webtoon and honestly I don’t plan to, so I can’t and won’t compare the show to it. that being said, I have loved this show since it first aired and it’s one of my top kdramas.
reading through the comments I have seen a lot of people talking about things they didn’t like about the show. personally the only real annoyance from this season was the fact that a lot of the characters do in fact look way older than any high schooler I’ve ever seen and it’s kinda hard to get past that.
in terms of the production style compared to season one, I think both seasons shine in their own way. season clearly has that smaller budget, web series look and feel and season two has a higher budget and more “Hollywood” feel to it (classic Netflix). personally I favor the feel of season 1 over 2 but I also think they both did a good job producing the show in their styles.
yeah, I noticed they were off in the first episode. that always happened to me when I used to wear light colored…
most of the time when they’re slightly off, I’m not really bothered, but when they are quite noticeably out of place they seem to be the only thing I can focus on lol. I don’t think any colored contacts will ever look perfect on anybody because of their inability to dilate like pupils do, the difference in iris size may contribute to that too. I also just don’t understand why they felt it was that necessary to make sure that he has lighter eyes. are the color of his eyes something that is relevant in the manga or to the storyline/character?
I am loving this show so far but sometimes I cannot focus on anything other than the blue/grey contacts that Smart…
okay so i just finished the episode and and i now know whats off about the contacts. It never looks like he is looking where he is actually looking. its always just slightly off
I am loving this show so far but sometimes I cannot focus on anything other than the blue/grey contacts that Smart is wearing in the show. there is something so off about them. also in the scene where they are in the chinese drama and Jin is crying, the one contact looks like its trying to escape. im sure thats probably just what happens when you cry with contacts in but thats the first thing i noticed and i just cant unsee it. if the contacts have zero haters, Im dead
A few weeks ago I saw a post about this drama being released in March and at the time I had no idea what it was. When I came to this page a realized it was an adaptation of the web novel, which also has a manhua adaptation. I had been reading the manhua for a while but had stopped a bit ago just because I fell out of the groove of keeping up with updates. When I discovered this show though, it made me really excited and I have started to read the manhua again. Sadly it was announced that the manhua is being cancelled out of nowhere though and I have honestly been devastated about it because of the beautiful story and artwork.
The photos that I have seen for this drama gave me the same feeling the manhua did and even though I saw that this was shot 4 years ago and never made it to the public, I still held hope for what I had seen about it being released this month. I don't think it'll happen anymore and this just makes me so sad because everything about this story is beautiful and the fact that I'm losing out on two versions/adaptations of it is killing me 😭
I’ve only seen a few people say the pace of this show is moving too fast but it’s currently midnight and I just had an epiphany that the “fast” pace of this show makes so much sense (and honestly doesn’t feel rushed at all) because ever time I thought there ways going to be a misunderstanding or something was going to be avoided/not said Ju Seong Hyeon shut it down real fast cause that man is making everything he feels and wants known to Daon and everyone else. this man is everything to me and I love how he is not beating around the bushes
I’m an hour into this movie and all I gotta say is there really aren’t ANY ifs, ands, or buts when it comes to people getting killed. Some of the characters have that aura where you think they’ll be spared for at least a little bit but nah. Dead
Honest question, what did she do to deserve this hate 😭? If anything it’s a good thing she moved in like…
Fr, I saw a post once that pointed out how people hate on the female characters for simply existing and I haven’t been able to unsee it since. I try to understand why some people may hate them but sometimes it’s just ridiculous
Honest question, what did she do to deserve this hate 😭? If anything it’s a good thing she moved in like…
Okay you do have some good points when I think about it, I guess I just wasn’t thinking too deep into it. Also I may just be stupid but I don’t remember her slapping anyone, only half hearted pokes and punches to her brother? Unless it was in another episode I don’t remember
Loving the series but I really don't like Chicha, I just wanna slap her. It's time for her to take her little knockers…
Honest question, what did she do to deserve this hate 😭? If anything it’s a good thing she moved in like that cause it allows Mo and Heng to become closer and have this development in their relationship
I have to disagree. I like that the show actually has a plot that isn't centered around the main leads getting…
True, everyone can have a different opinion on things and I do agree to some degree with a few of your comments such as Jokes tattoo quality. There is a shine that you can see every once in a while since they're just stick-ons and yeah maybe some of them look like a child drew them but he was also in jail when he got them so you can't expect the best tattoo artist to be there and put masterpieces on his body. What I don't agree with is saying that Tattoos tattoos are bad and look like like they've been drawn by kids because those are literally real tattoos that the actor Prom has and if they look a little sloppy and not pristine its because there's a thing called art style...
And okay, if Rose and Jack didn't have their story line, we could just as easily take Rose's character out of the show as a whole but then we would also miss some important plot details. could they have shortened their story line a bit instead? maybe idk.
Yes lets toss Sis off the building to show a real problem that happens in many different ways because people get overwhelmed by the amount of debt that they are in and feel like they will never be able to escape (or any other problem) and decide that taking their life is the only solution. I think this scene helped make the plot seem more realistic because this is something people resort to sometimes and its devastating.
Yes lets add an insane guy that throws a child off a balcony because, stay with me on this one, there are insane people in the world that would do this type of shit, especially if there's something in it for them. And guess what, now that Toi Ting has been thrown off and is actually seriously injured from it, and showing that there is a serious problem... there is MORE plot to the story. Yayyy we love plot that is actually interesting and tied to the main story and keeps the viewers engaged!!!!!
I think this show knows exactly what it wants to be and that definitely not just another lovely dovey romcom like every other show out there. I think maybe you're just used to stories with no deeper meaning that you can't wrap your head around this show.
If you think this show is in the running for one of the worst BL's this year, I beg you to tell me what you've watched to make it so. And if you don't like this show, which I feel like you haven't liked it from the first episode, maybe just pass it up and not waist your time.
This show does not deserve the high rating it has. The thefts are ridiculous and where is the romance? The four…
I have to disagree. I like that the show actually has a plot that isn't centered around the main leads getting together. I usually find myself losing interest in shows after the leads officially get together because there tends to always be a stupid misunderstanding between them that could have easily been avoided or just not been a part of the show at all. With this show, even though Jack and Joke have gotten together and a new problem in their relationship arises immediately, the problem actually has something to do with the plot outside of just those two and actually adds to the story. I do wish that Tattoo and Aran's story would be a bit more developed by now but I also think the time spent on the relationship between Jack and Rose was important.
I agree the thefts are quite ridiculous but I think that's what makes them fun to watch. Seeing Joke dressed up as all these different characters adds a fun twist to the show. And if you're gonna judge the the heists (or even the whole show for that matter) for being ridiculous and unrealistic, you kind of have to judge every other BL or show for being unrealistic because lets be real, there are not people in (almost) every single college writing songs and playing the guitar to confess to the person they like.
All of that being said, I think they've done an exceptional job with the writing for this story considering this is the type of plot or theme that doesn't really ever get explored in the BL area. Personally, I love the characters in this show and honestly, I don't see any difference in how the personalities of the main group would differ from the personalities of any other main group in a show, other than maybe changing them a bit to fit in with the theme of the show so that they actually contribute something to the plot.
Sorry, that was a lot of rambling but I really think your comment kind of nowhere with no support to back it up.
