It’s a bummer that we didn’t get an official cast announcement today, but I kind of expected it since the drama’s Weibo account didn’t mention anything about the 🥝 Conference. Still, it’s pretty much confirmed that he’ll be one of the leads, so I’m not worried anymore. 😅

It also looks like he might be joining the main cast of a variety show. If this turns out to be true, that’s another exciting thing to look forward to next year! 🥹🙏❤️

It's a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't situation with these people. Basically, he can't win either way. I really hope the rumors about him backing out are true. At least then, they'll only ridicule him for withdrawing. If he'd accepted the role, these fans would have continued dragging him right up until the drama aired. Weibo has turned into a cesspool of fandom wars, with some people stooping to the most vile insults against actors and actresses. 😩

If Youku offers him a script that genuinely interests him, I’m sure he’d be open to working with them. If you’ve noticed, a lot of c-dramas that gain international popularity seem to be the ones available on Netflix, and unfortunately, most of his dramas haven’t made it onto the platform. While I’m not particularly fond of TES’s plot, I can understand why this kind of storyline appeals to so many viewers.

There’s been no news about an FL for this drama since it won’t be romance-focused. I think the story will mainly center on the father and son and their journey as police officers. If I remember correctly, even the casting call for doubles only mentioned the two male leads.

At this point, I think I’d actually prefer CD to air in December. There are already so many c-dramas expected or rumored to air in October and November. As for Tencent, I have a feeling they might be planning to air TSTR after ATR.

Let’s see if this police-themed drama really ends up being his next project. I’m sure we’ll get some confirmation about it sometime this month. 👀 🤞
