I agree with you that within new dramas there is hard to find good ones. Its kinda weird bc there is so many very good actors but they rarely use them and new dramas come out with actors who has less expierence and talant, it makes hit or miss chance for new drama. And every new drama has this first impression fuzz around them, so it is very hard to understand - is it really good or is this fangirls hype.
With older dramas choseing good one is easier, with time oppinion of other people is settled down, are more true.
There is one good older drama what is in your PTW list:" Sang Doo, Let's Go To School ". Some time ago somebody recommend this drama, i was kinda doubtful bc of synopsis and actors but finally desided to watch it when i was "stalking" Lee Dong Gun. And i got greatly surprised, this drama has more to offer than you can quess at first glance. Try it!

lol...seems so :D but it makes more exciting to see how we both like/dislike new version.
Btw.we still have some common point more - old jversion was kinda meh. :D I think what is different is what we wait from drama, we apprecate diferent features. So if we find one drama what we both like alot - then it must be real gem!

With t-version mine problem with male lead actor was that he wasnt able to portray boy with problems of expressing emotions and feelings or having understanding of them atall, who is trapt. It deminished boys charater and made girls eforts ridiculous and pitiful.Ofcourse tdrama has more fanservice but it cant cover for me what it lacks. Supporting actors where weaker by acting skills, ex.Wang Jiro who made kinda ok role, better than Cheng Joe. Actors for family where pain to watch, poor acting killed part of fun, other part died with slapstick jokes. There was alot of details but main storyline often got buried under them and it felt dragged, i often forced myself off from skiping.
Kdrama isnt without flaws too but it managed keep feeling what original carries and main traits of characters and all cast acted skillfully and belivable. And PK gets better with every time you rewatch it.//

hmm...new version gets worse? Im still in the beginning but i think i try watch til end. its only girls behaviour or is there something more?
This movie is hard to find but if you finally get it - its worth of all your effort.
Very interesting visuals - super good camerawork, splendid acting, original script and director who know what he is doing. Every tiny detail is important, every glance, sigh or shadow has meananing and is part of storytelling.
Sad that this little gem is so underrated.

there is few stories what i try see in every version ( if iam able to survive)what is out: manga, anime, drama. It is interesting to see diferent interpretations of stories and diferent looks to charaters and how actors are able convey feeling what original carries. It isnt important to make exact replica of original, it is feeling/soul of story and characters what must be same. Every creator wants deliver their own thoughts and views to audience but it cant owershadow originals values, it must be add on, widening, deepening.
This is usually main reason why im not ok with some adaption, second one is poor acting or directing or screenscript.

May i ask why you liked T-verson better than k-version?
Mine like is vice versa bc i find male lead role made better: he really felt with high IQ, he had all flaws what people with high IQ have, hes growth and learning about feelings between persons was very well done, pluss he really looked gorgeous and cold like it should be. Owerall he was like i remember him from manga. Girls charater was very similar to manga too, nicely balanced shoujo standart of not pretty but cute, loyal and simpleminded clumsy airhead who has pure heart and warm personality, still not jet annoying. I could understand how and why their relationship worked finally out so well. It was bc of girl, her devotion and endless patience. Where everyone would lost hope and gave up, she, thanks to her peronality was able stay and wait til boy grows and learns to understand. She really is onlyone to him bc his personality..
This "sane woman" has no desire for a flower boy. I like men, not boys. A man can be gentle, kind &…
mmmm...Kim Jong Kook he was ( and still littlebit is) well known flowerboy: slim, high fashion, groomed and high maitenance.

All flowerboys grow up finally and some of them become very handsome men but all of them grow up to be charming man, who know how to win. Being flowerboy teatches how to be confident, belive yourself and stay true to yourself, without any "macho complexes".

I see you currently too is watching new j-version of Itazura.
So...you have seen other versions of this story too, how would you compare them and where in rateing order you would put this new one and why?
I have seen t- and k-version (compleatly) and tried god knows how many times start with old j-version, still never succeeded.
From this you can see that old j-version is on last place for me. Then comes t-version ( bc atleast i was able by using raw force to finish it)and best one is k-version. Now im watching new j-version and after two first episodes i find it nice. For me this is miracle bc this is j-drama for teens about school and romance...usually this kind drama sucks big bc has poor acting and directing but new Itazura manages be ok. So mine second question is - how you like this new Itazura and why?

p.s. did you got mine notes about last movie what you suggested? Bc on sending there occured something strange i fear that you didnt get this PM.
Thank you for info.:D I have read manga and seen anime, even succeeeded to have tiny peek into Kuroshitsuji musical. I cant say that i have very big hopes up to find this movie be gem but im still interested to see how they handle theme and does they manage carry out same feeling what manga has.
p.s. from trailer i see that MH's face has lost alot of charm, he looks not so mysterious and serene...and sadly not so sexy anymore. Maybe in real movie it looks better (with all lighting and APE), it makes mine hopes even more shrink.
(Sebastians characters main point is that he is so perfect without any effort and never shows on face any emotions and rare few times when this happens - hell gets lose and nobody remains to remember that. In triler i saw already that it has changed.)

yes, drama what poped into mine mind was The Hotel Venus when i read your rec. about The Act of Killing.
The Hotel Venus isnt doc.movie but there is one of main themes what circles around killing and impact of that act to person/s. Watch it and im kinda sure you understand what i mean. It is intriguing movie what has some deep layers and can provoke thoughts. (d...n mine poor english, i feel like tied up with it, T.T)
I hope hear your oppinion about The Hotel Venus after you have watched it...
Is there some movie on your MDL Completed list what you like to recommend to me?

Just now i try finish Running Man show(at least best part of it) before it gets taken down.Same time i keep eye on Barefoot Friends but it has somehow stalled bc of lot unhappy things. Before that it peeked We Got Married but i felt hooked only to one couple ( and this couple made me rewatch BoF and Playful Kiss bc i wanted see does and how WGM might have impact on them)...so, like you see im in variety show land now.And i prepare for next round in anime review club, its not so time consuming, so when it is done i think start with some drama. This time i want to see something older but i havent chosen jet.And few dramas wait on mine Watching list to be finished.
All this helps til i wait for beginning of Two Weeks. I desided watch first 2-3 eps and see how it is. If good then i wait til it is half done and start watching seriously.

BC it is mindblowing one. I just was dragged into some moviefestival event for more closed audience. Mine first thought was: outch, so long and documentary - i die here and im not religious and...
But after 3 hours, when this movie ended i sat there like in trance.
And not only me, all people in cinema where same.It is perfect!
And perfect things are hard to describe well... all camerawork, how thous monks and their life are pictured. All the time you feel that you see something extremely important.
Just try it.

LOL :D you seem to be curious person like me.
i dont have fav list bc mine is longer than 5 items and it feels unfair not to list them all. Other trouble is - i still can find new favs and then i cant list them. So it is more honest not to list them atall. Even ranking in mine list is changing from time to time bc some drama manages rise bar for mine liking. And there are dramas what get better ( this is weird thing) after i rewatch them 2-3 times or find some facts about storys background (not rumours).
What makes me tick? Good acting, good story and script, good directing, good camerawork. What makes me bored? Poor acting, poor script, poor directing a.s.o. On first glance this answer seems simple but...
I dont hate dramas what i dont like, im sad about lost opportunity but i hate to be bored, i even prefer to be annoyed bc then there was something what touched me.
