These two MLs are so incredibly magnetic and each has sooo much 🚩 yet I can't seem to look away. The poor FL really needs to run far far away from these two. It's riveting almost like watching a suspense drama. Definitely hooked.

Yes it's as if the FL becomes like a cute child in a kitchen*helping" but actually makes a mess and the actual adults end up scrubbing and cleaning up and doing the real work. Pity I had hopes for this one but I think I will pause a bit due to my dislike of this trope.

LMT has spoiled me for other "smart" FLs because so many are actually not smart and inevitably become the damsel in distress or decrease in critical thinking after falling in love. She was smart, strong and never missed her shot. She was in every way equal to the ML and it never felt like she married up like so many other shows depict the FL. The way she handled her MIL was a masterclass on keeping your backbone and dignity.. The show truly made me believe that the emperor missed out on a great empress (although I also love Xueji and her personal growth). CXZ was so funny, intelligent but also showed so much growth as a person. This is the power couple of the year and I adore them.

I love this! I had no idea the scene was so contentious 😂 never tried tofu pudding but if it's anything like a rice porridge, I would also be team Shen Du.

I actually enjoy this and the ratings don't bother me much. In fact the higher it goes, it seems the posts get more toxic The only issue is, it's episode 11 and I still have no ever loving clue wtf is going on because there is apparently a revenge plot+ a cult (?)+palace power intrigue and a love story kind of sprinkled on top. But just enjoying the ride and seeing where it goes.

What a great show, I really like all three of the intelligent heroines, the foodie princess, the independent business woman and of course the FL rebel leader. I hope all three gets a good end.

Wuxin deserves the happiest of ends!! He was dealt such a bad hand, abandoned by mom, dad killed early, used as a political hostage for 12 years. He finally found some good friends and TBOY2 better not make him a villain.

It's getting so good! Things are getting set up and in motion and it was a treat to see the inner workings of Baixaio Hall. And they're also so money grubby too like their famous future disciple.

He's doing such a good job of expressing subtle emotions! Like every time BDJ mentions his old friend he looks both happy and sad like he wants to say "hey it's me, your best bro!" And he is so proud of him and you can see that too. This friendship is everything and I have to brace my heart for the darker times ahead 😔

I agree with this take. For instance in Episode 7 DY and Episode 5 of TBOY there are similar scenes of loss but the one in TBOY was so much more emotionally powerful and poignant compared to the one in DY and it may be due to the plot, direction or just the caliber of the actors. But I am still enjoying this show a lot and watch the new episodes everyday.

I really like current SGY as a bestie to LR with her smirk and mischievous twinkle in her eyes. The past SGY looked like she was just dead inside. Also the recent episodes explain why the ML is so frustrating. His dad taught him that he should just suffer and take care of things in silence for his loved ones no matter how much it hurts. He has a martyr syndrome which explains why he's letting SRQ get close to LR. Like LR said he needs to be vocal and more assertive about what he wants.

She followed her mother's path in previous life. She aligned with her uncle and forced marriages on her bro and SGY. It all led to a pretty bad end. I know people are focused on the romance of the story but this time around she's making a choice to make her own faction without relying on the whims of Noble houses. She's setting up QZZ/XC to support the North in her name and it sounds like she may help cousin SGY to take over her house in the future. Her brother remains loyal to her and she's going to be a true partner to her brilliant husband this time. I think this time around she's playing for power for herself so others can't kill or use her.

QZZ open protest and "death" were needed to make a case for the reinvestigation so people know QZZ died. I think LR and PWX know and SGY may suspect she's alive. The disguise is pretty shoddy but she said she needs to establish this new identity so she can become LR's rep as an Investigator to the North once the Qin family name clears.

One of my favorite scene is when she tells her uncle I can't trust you and SRQ smugly tries to volunteer himself and she's also like No, can't trust you either. That scene deserved a replay. I hope she'll keep shutting him down.
