I don't think he died. It was his body and his mind. Just the spirit of future Zhen Yu came to his body and gave…
Its been a while now since I saw the drama. I was a bit confused about it since I approached the issue as a binary. Basically that 1 replaces another. Instead I should've seen it as a fusion of 2 that creates an entirely new being. Actually seeing an example of a complete replacing of identity from another drama got me to understand this one more.
I'm watching this RAW because I've seen so many stories similar to this one. I kinda know what to expect and I know the most basic Chinese expressions. Its interesting up till now (episode 14).
No subs but I found a video of a Chinese commentator talking about it for 10 minutes. So anyway I'm watching that since I doubt I'll find the drama unless a fansubber takes the project.
I found this movie without subtitles by searching the Korean name. Some of the scenes are so dramatic that its comical but it was still okay. It was fun to see an early 90s Korea in the movie.
Edit: So a user called Choco_chip actually posted the link and I checked and its on there but still no subs unfortunately.
I used to watch anime when I was younger. Basically a lot of anime use either the objectification of the female body/male body or both at the same time depending on the type of audience. Of course not all anime do this but a lot of anime fans know about beach-episodes/onsen-episodes for obvious reasons. Now of course this is animated and doesn't use real people so its different but it did create the impression for me that fantasy series just kinda do that.
So getting into dramas I didn't even notice it. I never expect a shirtless scene of a drama but when it happens I'm also not shocked. I still strongly associate kdramas with fantasy stories so I guess that's why I don't expect a realistic male representation.
If it was actual healthy representation for guys then they wouldn't be using handsome perfect guys in the first place. We'd be having regular looking guys with realistic faults but I'm sure almost nobody here would tune in to watch that. Kdramas thrive off of creating an ideal fantasy in my opinion and shirtless scenes are just a part of selling that. Its good to discuss it but in the end the series will always be produced based on what will sell. I personally wouldn't mind if they cut all the shirtless scenes in kdramas but I know that'll realistically just not happen. I can only hope actors choose kdramas with full knowledge what they're potentially getting into.
Just adding here that the interviews/certain entertainment-shows are obviously a different story. I hope that people will just support the ones that know their limits and not watch the ones that try to embarass the actors for more views.
Thanks to the subbers of this series!! Alright my time to rant about the show itself. Why... Why did we not get closure on the crazy scientist who was gonna biologically engineer his friend to fall in love with him? No way this would've gone well since its not even clinically tested stuff. Now we can only hope the best for Takuma. Like even assuming that gene-technology has gotten way better in 2030 its so unethical and still such a gamble with their health.
Would've been smarter of scientist dude to realise that he could just use his nanomachine gene-technology on himself to find a new living crush.
To be fair though why does Takuma not have basic boundaries to the point that he just accepts his friend had a husbando-robot of him at home? I feel like that should've been the limit and now scientist dude is gonna be changing his neuroendocrinology to fulfill his love fantasy.
Also robot Takuma deserved better than to be disassembled, his final confession was sad. I get that some people always prefer real humans but that was coldhearted. Crazy scientist dude crushing the memory of the robot was too far. Anyway yeah the other AI stories were interesting as well but I feel like they left a lot in the open.
That client meeting at 7 though. Really interesting discussion about relevant subjects for the workplace. You can really see the quality of Ace as an employer who knows how to personally connect to their employee. They may have different positions but at the end of the day they get the job done as a team. I kinda think this is going towards a positive performance review at the end of Skys internship.
Yeah I personally love watching this jdrama but I think everyone has different expectations and likes/dislikes for dramas. I can see some faults in the drama but enjoy it regardless.
If its about the acting.. Most of the characters are in a very conservative/traditional environment (the sweet-shop) and the family is not a warmhearted one. So to see more reserved expressions or wooden movements is to be expected as just acting like casual people would be unfitting for the story. This also causes most emotions to either show in a restrained form or be hidden. I think I'd compare the main leads acting to Lan Zhan from Untamed. These are the types of conserved characters that show much more emotion through their eyes.
The mother does indeed act very stereotypically evil but its needed to keep the mood of the drama tense. So while it may not be ideal in my opinion it does have a function. Its very typical of a manga-adapted story to portray the evil mothers like this so I just went along with it.
I personally don't pay attention to special effects and am also used to far worse so I didn't even notice anything with this drama. It's such a small part of the drama too so its unfortunate to hear it took you out of the story.
Anyway this is just the way I experienced the story. Its okay if the drama is not something you can get into though. We all have our own favorite genres and types of dramas.
It had some interesting parts at the beginning and did keep me hooked for a long time but that didn't stick forever. I think it's definitely worth checking out though
Since this drama doesn't have a trailer linked you can watch this short clip to have an idea about the drama. Basically the episode 1 preview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBlGl7bYw7A
She's basically speedrunning romance in Episode 5 huh? Finally a kdrama where all those romantic moments aren't just coincidences xD even though of course the way this is framed makes it creepy.
