To be honest, she was always hit or miss for me. Among these, only Mr. Sunshine and The glory were well-written…
By hit I meant a hit in popularity not in quality, I pointed out king’s mornach because it was such a super weak drama but still had its fame. I only really liked Mr. Sunshine from her.
I am suspecting this drama wouldn’t reach the same level of popularity as her others thereby being a miss but since it’s Netflix I might be wrong
It’s not a sin but you might feel weird watching it.
Just as long as it doesn’t shake your faith or believes, I personally just get the ick from it then dropped it early on. It’s a waste of time as someone in this forum mentioned 1st Timothy chapter 1 verse 4
How is this the same writer that did secret garden, a gentleman's dignity , the heirs, descendants of the sun, guardian: the lonely and great god, Mr. Sunshine, The glory (the king eternal monarch was just there, was a hit tho) Something must have happened behind the scenes to create such a miss
As a Jew who saw the series Lucifer and enjoyed it, and now in episode 6 of the drama - I had to Google it to…
I agree with what you said. I'm Christian, and personally I felt the ick with Lucifer. I just don't like redemption arcs for things that are known/established to be evil, or when they change core elements to fit their narrative. They wouldn't do this with controversial recent events, but when it's far back historical or a religious/mythological adaptation, they let their thoughts run wild. Though to be fair, Lucifer is a show based on the DC comics character, not the bible, an adaptation of an adaptation, controversial but its less like lets pick the bible and turn it around, someone in dc did that for them. Still, I think it's just personal taste though. Some people can draw the line between fiction and reality, while for others it brings anger or disgust.
true but I think it is but not directly, its a translation stuff, Its the Latin Vulgate for the Hebrew word heylel which means shining one or brightness, which got popularity back then, it stuck but later on, we prioritized more accurate translations which is why in some translation you would see shining star and the likes. You can see Lucifer in the bible its just a translation thing check Isaiah 14 KJV verse 12, historical, language contexts is important for religions, especially for Christianity, most people would not learn Hebrew or Greek
There's no way the legendary kim eun sook wrote this drama. The emotional depth just isn't there in any of the…
it's the Netflix secret sauce, if there isn't a Korean entertainment company like tvn accompanying it, 6 out of 10 times its going to be mid, trash or lifeless.
How is it a sin? You gave me 1 Timothy 1 verse 4: 'Don't let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don't help people live a life of faith in God.' It seems Paul was giving advice and in the realm of myths and spiritual pedigrees, like Greek mythology, being careful of your consumption. Unless the Bible explicitly mentions it's a sin, it seems like it was just referring to indulging in stuff like that can be a waste of time and weaken faith. You should spend your time studying the word of God. Why throw the word sin so effortlessly? You started with "does not encourage," then ended that we that have indulged in this drama are sinners. And even before that verse it said: 'When I left for Macedonia, I urged you to stay there in Ephesus and stop those whose teaching is contrary to the truth.' It is not in relation to drama as a whole. It is in relation to spiritual fictional myths that it is a wastage of time and a warning. We have the two verses after that specifically say it is an instruction and the purpose is so that: 5-6 'The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.' 'But some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions.' No place does it mention it is a sin, but if there is a place please give me, cause that portion was a warning against false teachings.
Its not the first religion is changed fictionally, and sadly would not be last, that's what i also hate about historical adaptations, many would not fact check after the drama is done(I'm saying in general) Aside from that the drama was just meh. The chemistry was lacking, the cinematography and acting were good, but nothing was pulling me into wanting more. It felt kind of like a worse version of legend of the blue sea, that's how i felt at the end
Yh, it’s kind of sad cause even after several years he still thinks about that one girl, it would be a pain…
No I’m not downplaying anything I’m saying it’s not that deep cause you literally quoted my comment like it’s an investigation and I lied about something 😂😂you could have said it’s YR not JP and you were mistaken. I simply admitted my mistake and was amused at your passion
Honestly starting to get that vibe

They are going to have teen romance among the children (most likely)
Your blood is hot, it’s not that deep
