I enjoyed the heck out of this show. Sometimes, the tittering women got a bit much for me, it's easily solved with the ff button. The ml's fight scenes are a joy to watch; especially when he took down that rude fella at the agency. He was merciless and I loved it. The fl is one of the best and most likeable fls I've ever come across in cdramaverse. I absolutely adore her. She's strong, independent, unassailable, smart, wise, brave, loving, nurturing and so much more, without being rude, ungrateful and loud; like the usual cdrama portrayal of a strong fl. The romance is bland; nevertheless, the main couple have a very healthy relationship. The emperor is complex character; the automatic inclination, is to hate him, but in retrospect, he's the most pathetic of them all. It's a beautiful watch.
I absolutely enjoyed this drama. I can't remember enjoying a drama more, recently, and I don't want it to end! I loved their 'married' life. The way she took charge of her husband and her business, thinking he was just a dandy, so she had to step up. I love how all his grand plans dissolved in his face and before he knew it, he was lost in love for her and willing to fight to keep her, while taking care of business. He never lost sight of his responsibilities and neither did she.
I love the way they called each other by pet names, even when they quarreled. I missed it, when the truth came to light. I love how he always came to find her and how she always ran into his arms. I especially love how the love rivals for both leads were handled.
However, the kisses sucked; even on their wedding night, she was more his nurse, than wife. One would've thought he'll be chaffing at the bit to at least passionately kiss his hard won wife, like the ml of Kunning palace, who 'took no prisoners', lol! But, the lack of passion is my only grouse. Other than that, they're a beautiful couple; I love them. A solid 8.5, in my opinion.
The ost is dreamy, especially when she dumped him by the waterfall and when he was leaving for war.
I love the friendship between the ml and his bestie-the doctor-what a comical and chaotic pair. Unfortunately, the doctor's love interest, while interesting, business wise, was boring romantically. I couldn't be bothered about their love.
I've been trying to read the novel, but the translation is giving me a headache. Please if anyone knows where I can get a good translation? Thank you in advance. I highly recommend this drama if you're undecided about it. It's totally awesome.
I didn't like Dilraba's acting at all, I am not saying her acting is bad, but very bland; she plays the same Character…
I agree with you. I saw her in TMOPB and liked her acting there, but she's the same in every other drama I've seen her in. I just realised I've never been able to finish any of her dramas. The last I attempted was Love Designer, which I gave up because it was boring and her constant bright red lipstick -which never came off even when she was asleep -gave me eye ache. She's lovely to look at though and I wish her all the best.
i dont think it is very similar to lltg. wrtw has palace politics as usual, but i feel like it is more dynamic…
I dropped LLTG as well. Imagine pitying a ml of a romance drama and wishing he'll find someone else lol! I loved the emperor and fl's dad, though. Their comic timing is awesome, made me laugh so much.
Ikr? Please! I'm fed up with lily white knights in shining armor. Prefer a morally gray dude like this ml. Please if you have any recommendations with such a ml. so share with me. Thanks.
Please don’t overreact like this and spread false information to defame a good drama ….their age gap was literally…
Thanks, I saw your reply and gave it a shot. I'm glad I did. That person with the age difference post is misleading people. he's not a creep, just had to row up faster than usual because of circumstances.
I skipped things and find out what was going on then went back, because you are right it's kind of tiring. I'm…
I totally agree with you. I dropped kdramas for a while because it's all about this new wave of feminism. Thought historical cdramas would have real men, but if the man isn't a cartoonish villain, then he's a milksop, no normal in-between. Only a few have dished up the goods. Sigh!
[ The things I like ] 1. The location of the shooting. I wonder if it’s real, but I don’t think they could…
I notice they recycle outfits a lot in cdramas. For instance, in Dating in the kitchen, the ml's mother-who's supposed to be a super rich hotelier, recycled one blue outfit so many times that I thought rich people wear uniforms in China! Also, the ml wore the same set of shoes throughout the drama, as well as the same pair of jeans every time he wasn't in a suit; which didn't add up, because he's supposed to be this wealthy, Ferrari driving business mogul. His suits were nice, though.
is this drama not focused on romance or is it similar to LLTG?
It's an intriguing drama, but really shouldn't be tagged as a romance. Yes, there was some light flirting, but that's about it. Not even one kiss scene, but you get a close up shot of a lit candle, if that might interest you.
