Yep. That's a double standard I've seen too. Like if Boon Ok's past or present suffering doesn't justify her malicious nature... Then Soo Ho's actions shouldn't be so easily forgiven either, for his backstory or present circumstances. Not by Young Ro and not by the audience. He did initially betray Young Ro, put a gun to her head, took an entire building of innocent girls hostage and is causing them much mental anguish which could have lasting effects on their psyche...

I wish all of this was taken just as seriously by the story and more focus and time was given to Soo Ho groveling for Young Ro's forgiveness. Instead they had like one Disney style kiss and make up and everything was just...brushed aside. We could've had such glorious angst with a set up like this but it's all being wasted in making Soo Ho appear soft. Which again helps people to better compartmentalize imo. Because if the show ITSELF is not taking Soo Ho's crimes seriously, why would the audience? Had they actually pushed in making SH's actions appear just as sinister as they are, I think the audience would see them as requiring more than a band aid to get fixed by, for the hurt they've caused YR.

I like her cuz she's interesting. For me a character could be a psychopathic murderer and I'd still like them if i find them interesting. Eg- Park Bo Gum's character in Hello Monster or villains like Coach Kim in sky castle or Lee Dong Wook in Strangers from hell. Same here for boon ok ( and KCY). She's interesting. Also helps that i like Kim Hye Yoon. She has incredible stage presence and she's really trying hard to give the character some depth.

On the other hand it doesn't matter how good/noble/kind etc a character is. If they're boring they're boring. Like love alarm main characters for eg? The biggest crime a character can commit in fiction is to be bland and uninteresting. Defeats the purpose of their existence.

She's insanely good whether as the protagonist or antagonist. All the best for future projects👍

I thought that that was the joke. Like they made us think something happened and then they both just held hands throughout the night. But yeah i could be wrong.

The thing about this show is that we already know that the Rayieon and his crew are gonna have a happy ending. Like this is not the kind of show where you need to fret about a tragic or bittersweet ending. The things that remain of interest to me are these:
1. Taesoo. He's not the villain anymore but he has done some evil things. So what does the writer plan to do with him. Personally would love to see him just be happy in the last episode. And make some new friends.
2. Yi-eon and Joyi. Will they get married? (I'm thinking they will). But I want a see how they manage to get over Joyi's aversion to marriage. It should be done convincingly.
3. Who takes the throne after the king is dealt with?

Honestly if it's not doing anything for you 13ep in it's better to drop it imo. Why waste anymore time hoping it gets better when you can just watch something else. Save the 3 hours of the rest of the episodes to do anything else. I've dropped 16 episode shows after watching even 14/15 episodes when they start to annoy me.

I think he kinda knows? He said that I know you value your independence to her at the bridge. Besides he hasn't proposed. Granted they've both been busy. He himself was against marriage a very short while ago.

Yeah I agree. Them sleeping together was kinda weird. I'm thinking maybe it was a trick or whatever, that they really did just 'sleep' together. Otherwise that's a bit too careless.

I'm glad she was blunt though. You shouldn't humble yourself just because the family of the guy you like disapproves of you.
Also I think she didn't even want to get the granny's approval. She herself doesn't want to marry. She knows that even if they do get married the society would drown upon the union. It's like she knows that the relationship is doomed anyways. So like why prostrate yourself in front of someone whose never gonna approve of you anyway. Better to hold your pride and self-respect closer to you.

First of all the people doing the accusing is the Korean public. It's insensitive to call them ignorant especially when the thread the op pointed out was written by one of the children of the survivers.
That's why I said I'll put this on hold. If the Korean public approves it fine, if not I won't watch.

Second. Artists can very much get forced by their agencies to choose or leave certain projects. I'm not just talking about Hyeyoon here. But this does happen. That's the point. She's still not very popular and if she had refused she would look really bad because she basically owes her popularity to the Sky Castle team. I'm not saying she was forced but she did have to take that into consideration while making a choice. That's why it matters.

Hyeyoon has acted as a nameless extra in more than 50 projects. Then as a supporting cast and finally landed her first leading role with Extraordinary You. You can see how long her list of projects is on Asianwiki. Of course her fans want to see her in a lead project.

She's killing it in this role too. She was both funny and scary when she needed to be. But I can't in good faith support the drama. If by ep8 this drama is still airing and the Korean public has given it's seal of approval I'll come back to it. As of now fingers crossed she gets casted in something good.

I wish she didn't take this project too tbh. She could've easily been the lead in another drama last year instead of a supporting role here. But the drama is written by the Sky Castle director-writer duo so if she had refused she would look really bad for being ungrateful to the people who made her popular.

She is an amazing character. As a woman in the joseon period who has no power trying to attain happiness by fighting for her freedom from an unwanted marriage that was forced upon her, all the while still caring for her friend who was a tavern lady nobody gave a damn about. And in the future episodes she continues to be smart and amazing. Anyways have an interesting day. Bye.

The dude she blackmailed got her younger sister/best friend pregnant out of wedlock and then killed. I'm not sure you're understanding the plot here. And yes peasants could read simple Hangul. It is Hanja and the sophisticated script used by the noblemen they did not understand.

Also she's living as a slave. Her MIL abuses her, her husband is a gambler and good for nothing. All she does is work and gets insulted for it. Blackmailing a corrupt magistrate to get out of abusive marriage is bad? In what world lmao. Anyways you do you.

The FL is clever though? That was evident even in the first 2 episodes. She cleverly blackmailed the magistrate to get her divorce. As for vulgar? She's a peasant, not a court lady. Of course she's not prim and proper. Not that you are obligated to watch the drama but characters usually go through a lot of changes in a 16 episode drama.

Not exactly. There's a cameo character that appears to make the ML jealous for like 2 minutes but that's it. The ML and FL are completely into each other.
