can someone give me 3 reasons to start this drama, as a non saeguk fan who is already watching 2 (the king's affection…
I'm watching those too! 1. I like this one because the ML and FL are both very good people and treat everyone around them really well. It's like a historical kdrama with very modern thinking. Peasant women getting divorce, treating slaves with kindness, and despite the power imbalance between the ML and the PL (ML is a nobleman and the FL is a commoner) their dynamic is one that feels that both are equal. I love the Red Sleeve but the power imbalance between the lead couple there gives me anxiety. There is no such dynamic here. 2. I really like the FL here. She's very bubbly and energetic. Also even though she's tiny she's always so ready to fight it's hilarious. 3. The plot is smart. It's nothing outstanding tbh but till ep12 so far the story imo has been engaging. 4. THE VILLAINS. The main villain actor is amazing and even the other villains are quite interesting all on their own. 5. The comedy doesn't always land though. I find the show funny but I'll acknowledge that the gags can be childish. It's not for everyone but I love those stupid jokes.
People. Chill about Joyi telling the lady about her family. Pretty sure she was still reeling from Ra Yi-eon's death, and worried sick about finding her mother and not thinking clearly. People make stupid mistakes at the best of times. And no one assumes that the first person you meet after landing on an island coincidentally is somehow involved in nefarious business and crime.
Isn't it their 2nd case now though? (1st- Murder of the inspector & Murder of Bori) (2nd- Orphanage situation with nobles embezzling goods) It's kinda like one case just continues as connected with the rest.
it has all the star power.. but ep 1 was so bad that people dropped it
Dude no... Taecyeon is from 2pm. Legendary 2nd gen idol group. His fans legit trended his name in Korea before the premier of this drama on twitter at #2. He is a household name. Not to mention the success of Vincenzo this year. I love Hyeyoon and she IS famous, but Taecyeon is the indisputably more popular because of his long career.
She is a kind person as witnessed by how tenderly she tended the nasty biddy when the latter was drunk. But she…
So do you agree you're using the words 'domestic violence' incorrectly? Making a mockery of a serious issue. SURE a 5ft tall tiny little woman hitting a 6'3 male on his mouth with legit her fingertips is 'assault'.
I guess Ryan not letting his servants eat for whole days and making them walk in the sun is him 'forcing them' is 'torture' and he deserves the same 'turning your stomach' attitude for his cruelty?
And saying that I'm dismissing female on male violence is a serious allegation. I just am better at understanding the context and not interested in making a mountain out of a mole hill. But sure. You do you.

You are most definitely misusing the term domestic violence. Her hitting him is excusable because if this was all real he would be getting publicly flogged instead for his disrespect.
The FL was threatened with public flogging for asking for a divorce. Her MIL beats her regularly and with much more malicious intention. THAT is domestic violence. Interesting how that doesn't concern you as much as the FL tapping the ML on his mouth does.
Ugh, wish they didn't insist on including a scene of the FL hitting the ML - in the face - without good reason…
The MIL went around hitting the FL and pulling her ears and basically kept her in a position of servitude for 4 years. The FL hitting the ML on the lips on one occasion especially when he's definitely stepping out of bounds is hardly an issue.
