I've literally never seen MDL comment section being so active EVERYDAY, that's the power of ThamePo and I love it, it makes me so happy returning here and reading about people's feelings on the show ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
I've always shipped Earn over sad sack Phun, Why would you not go with. a mature, happy, supportive, cute guy…
I honestly think so! Right now "My School President" or "Last Twilight" come to mind, don't ask me why.... But I feel that lately I did see a lot of BL with a very healthy communication ! But in Love Sick I think that's missing, especially for Phun and Noh. Phun constantly has jealous tantrums because Noh is being flirted with by other people, even directly interjecting and controlling Noh.... Phun is also not clear on what he wants; does he want to be with Aim or Noh? And he has Noh in a constant back and forth. I understand that they are young students and that they are messed up.... But for God's sake, the original version was made at a time when being gay was frowned upon, but this version is not. In fact apparently everyone in that school is gay, at this point.... So why is Phun so afraid to accept in front of the world that he likes Noh ? The only reason that comes to my mind is the father, but they never said anything about thay. I think there is a lot of miscommunication between the two of them, Phun could tell him "look, I don't like Aim, I like you, but I'm not breaking up with her because.... X reason... So, what can we do ?". I don't know, even as students there are things that I don't think it's right to normalize, like this possessive jealousy or Phun's control over Noh...
Anyway, as a personal recommendation, I recommend you some BLs that (if I'm not remembering wrong) are healthy:
• "I'll Knock You" is a very nice BL, very wholesome, it can seem a bit cringe sometimes, but overall it's super nice !
• Old fashioned cupcake • The On1y One • Stay with me • Our Dining Table • Unintentional love story
You're speaking my language. But i think the issue is the payoff. In the og series and books. Phun felt guilty…
Honestly, if they extended it for another season, I wouldn't watch it. In general, I don't like second seasons (somehow, they always make it feel like a "different" series and spoil the magic that the first season had), and even less so if they focus on a secondary couple (yes, I'm talking about you, Between Us)... And so far, this first season of LS doesn't seem good enough to me to risk another season. I follow the same logic for "The On1y One" or "Stay With Me" only in their case, I loved both of them, and although I'm looking forward to a second season, I'm afraid they'll spoil them (like "I promised you the moon").
Anyway, I'm going off the deep end because I find this super entertaining. I'm looking forward to seeing how they resolve Earn's plot, and I'll take breaks between LS episodes so I don't get fatigued with so much chaos !

Exactly, that's the feeling it creates. Phun neither eats nor lets you eat... It's frustrating the fact that he doesn't want to let Earn take care of Noh, but he's not with Noh either because he doesn't want to leave Aim... And it's even more frustrating that Noh tolerates Phun's jealousy and controlling behaviors. I mean, when the original came out, that kind of "relationship" was tolerated because there were no more BLs to watch, but nowadays, it's hard to accept. There are a lot of things that don't make sense in the series, and maybe it's, as you rightly say, because there are plot holes from the original series. And yes, both Earn and Yuri are walking green flags.... I don't remember the original series (I watched it many years ago), but I hope they pair Earn with someone who deserves him
Honestly, watching a series as conflicted as this one nowadays is emotionally complicated. Even knowing that the plot of Love Sick revolves around it, it's exhausting to watch Phun's comings and goings. Maybe because we've grown accustomed to shows where healthy communication is the main focus. I'm not going to stop watching it, despite the plot, some flaws in the direction or acting, or even the thousand couples... It's a series I enjoy. I just think... What would happen if for once the main character (Noh) goes with the good and emotionally mature guy (Earn) and not the one who gives him headaches (Phun) ? I think everyone's head would explode.... But I would definitely pay to see something like that.
I'm a le$bean and I also find Sound reaaaaaaally pretty hahaha
Hahaha I could finish a show in just one night if it's good tho (it's that something I should be proud of ? Don't think so). I would give it a... 7? It wasn't bad, but not really that good... It's like I came back in time when they made low budget BLs 🥲
