On ThamePo Heart That Skips a Beat Jan 24, 2025
Jun is obnoxious, yes, but Jun and Thame represent Po's insecurities. His ex not only abandoned him, but made him feel useless in his work and abilities. Jun fills that need for β€˜professional’ validation, making him see that he is good at what he does and can lead to being a director. Thame, on the other hand, fills the more human and affective need, love. Both Jun and Thame bring something to Po. So Po must decide what he really values in his romantic relationship; someone who is critical of him so that he does his best at his job, like Jun, or someone who loves him as he is, innocently, like Thame. I think that's very beautiful.

It's just funny to me because Thame & Po's relationship rn, like the courting and everything, it's just how romance used to be years ago... so lovely dovey. But nowadays no one is like that anymore and they will just ghost you, what's wrong with this new generations 😭😭😭

I just came by to brag that an hour ago, I listened to William singing 5CM LIVE! 😁 I will never get tired of…
I was about to comment how you are so bold for coming and telling that so proudly (in a good way) and then I read your user name and I was "oh sure it had to be her" πŸ˜‚

I've literally never seen MDL comment section being so active EVERYDAY, that's the power of ThamePo and I love it, it makes me so happy returning here and reading about people's feelings on the show 😭😭😭

I need to know what Jun's deal is he seems way to invested in ThamePo's relationship he has had it out for them…
I keep thinking that Jun likes Po, so that's why he's doing all that !

I've always shipped Earn over sad sack Phun, Why would you not go with. a mature, happy, supportive, cute guy…
I honestly think so! Right now "My School President" or "Last Twilight" come to mind, don't ask me why.... But I feel that lately I did see a lot of BL with a very healthy communication ! But in Love Sick I think that's missing, especially for Phun and Noh. Phun constantly has jealous tantrums because Noh is being flirted with by other people, even directly interjecting and controlling Noh.... Phun is also not clear on what he wants; does he want to be with Aim or Noh? And he has Noh in a constant back and forth. I understand that they are young students and that they are messed up.... But for God's sake, the original version was made at a time when being gay was frowned upon, but this version is not. In fact apparently everyone in that school is gay, at this point.... So why is Phun so afraid to accept in front of the world that he likes Noh ? The only reason that comes to my mind is the father, but they never said anything about thay. I think there is a lot of miscommunication between the two of them, Phun could tell him "look, I don't like Aim, I like you, but I'm not breaking up with her because.... X reason... So, what can we do ?". I don't know, even as students there are things that I don't think it's right to normalize, like this possessive jealousy or Phun's control over Noh...

Anyway, as a personal recommendation, I recommend you some BLs that (if I'm not remembering wrong) are healthy:

β€’ "I'll Knock You" is a very nice BL, very wholesome, it can seem a bit cringe sometimes, but overall it's super nice !

β€’ Old fashioned cupcake
β€’ The On1y One
β€’ Stay with me
β€’ Our Dining Table
β€’ Unintentional love story

That actually could be the question for most of triangle love stories !

You're speaking my language. But i think the issue is the payoff. In the og series and books. Phun felt guilty…
Honestly, if they extended it for another season, I wouldn't watch it. In general, I don't like second seasons (somehow, they always make it feel like a "different" series and spoil the magic that the first season had), and even less so if they focus on a secondary couple (yes, I'm talking about you, Between Us)... And so far, this first season of LS doesn't seem good enough to me to risk another season. I follow the same logic for "The On1y One" or "Stay With Me" only in their case, I loved both of them, and although I'm looking forward to a second season, I'm afraid they'll spoil them (like "I promised you the moon").

Anyway, I'm going off the deep end because I find this super entertaining. I'm looking forward to seeing how they resolve Earn's plot, and I'll take breaks between LS episodes so I don't get fatigued with so much chaos !
