Actually no. This is based off an epilogue manga where Arisu goes back to face the Joker.
He didn't face Joker in the epilogue. He faced him right before the hospital sequence. And it was only one page in manga. If you mean Alice in Borderland: Retry, then it was absolutely unnecessary short story, which was written around the same time when first season of live action was released. And still - it didn't change the main idea of the Borderland. And there was no Joker, at all.
I see a lot of comments praising the first half of this kdrama. But I just finished episode 3, and while first two episodes were good, the third one is just very very stupid. Maybe I don't know something about police in South Korea and how they work, but the whole segment in Police HQ was stupid and terrible. And this pathos with slow-mo and upbeat music..what the hell?
Jeyi faked her death and escaped, everyone find out that Je Na is alive...and that's it, their dad, with his connections, was released from the prison after... few months I think, and now he's stalking Seulgi, because he doesn't believe in Jey's death. But somehow, she, Seulgi, received gift from Jeyi - shoes, medalion and photo from Seulgi's hometown, supposedly meaning - come find me in your hometown. Yes, ending is very confusing, and in my opinion is rather bad example of open ending.
The second FL literally "died" for nothing since her dad didn't even goto jail.
At first I thought that those changes for the better, but when they change the story completely, especially noticable after episode 8, I changed my mind - they, creators, should've stick to the manhwa's story more.
The second FL literally "died" for nothing since her dad didn't even goto jail.
Yeah, that was also my problem with the ending. She, Jeyi, managed to escape, but her father is free and now stalking Seulgi, and her sister...now everyone knows that she's alive but that's it. We even don't know where she is after the events of the series. Also, what happened with the dealer guy....Not the worst ending, considering the story in the latest episodes, but overall it's a bad example of an open ending, in my opinion.
I must ask, is this more similar to Hierarchy or to Pyramid Game?
I haven't watched Pyramid Game yet, but this one is much better then Hierarchy in terms of quality. But the plot is completely different..and not the best part of the series.
1. It's not a farewell gift, it's the opposite.2. He'll give up eventually, and it's not like he can follow her…
I disagree about sister being not priority. Because, even though she wasn’t a main character, but she was important for the plot, in second half of the series ( basically, when story went downhill), so not giving her at least small epilogue( at least show her in medical center or something like that) proves that the story was very rushed..and for me it was bad.
I mentioned before in comments, and in my review, that I liked the first 8-9 episodes, but after that, the story became a mess. And open ending as this one, only proves that for me. I prefer open ending of Unlock my heart, instead of this one.

About gift - ok, agree. But about father and Jey's sister - it's all assumptions. I think that such things should've been more clear for audience. Especially if there will be no season 2.
So... I have questions. The more I think about them, the more I want to change my review from 7 to 6.
1). Box from Jey. If this a farewell gift( considering her words about shoes), why would she sent the photo? It's like - "Good Luck with your exams. I'm in your hometown. Farewell!" It's strange in my opinion. And who brought this gift?? Postman, who quickly ran away?? 2). Jey's dad. Basically, this man has nothing to lose now, and he's stalkering Seulgi like some maniac, waiting for her to reveal Jey's whereabouts. Even if Seulgi would like to go to Jey, if we consider that Jey's gift is more like "run away to me", how would she do that, if even her step-mom said that they can't move to another place, because Jey's dad is watching them? 3). What happened to Jey's sister after the events of the final episode? Everyone knows that she's alive now, but what's next? Where is she now?
Basically, what Jey did helped mostly only her. And I don't know how she will live without money or only on part-time jobs. Because she'll probably try to stay hidden. The biggest mistake in ending, in my opinion, is that father's punishment was very little. Probably he still has some connections, and considering what he did with car in episode 14, he's very dangerous. Maybe he'll try to get to Je Na again. Maybe not...But we don't know where she is! If, like in webtoon, he went to jail for good, and both Jey and Seulgi went to university because nothing is threating them anymore, or at least Jey's "sacrifice" in series had bigger impact on her father's fate, that would be more appropriate ending.
If I don't understand of missed something, then please tell me.
is the webtoon ending similar to the drama ending? because personally i did not enjoy the last episode at all.
It's completely different. Because the story is also different. I didn't read the webtoon, just read about its story and ending. In short, both Seulgi and Jei end up in Korea University.
I'm not sure that Seulgi is completely safe. Because of Jeyi's father, and her mother mentioning that they can't go anywhere because of him. But then...somehow Jeyi managed to send her a box, with shoes and the photo. I mean, if Jeyi just wanted to say that she's alive, shoes and medalion would be enough. But she send the picture of the place where she is now..I think that means that she is waiting for her there. As for me, this is a very open ending, where the main winner is Jeyi. Considering Seulgi...again, not so sure, because of Jeyi's father.
I agree, the start is great, from episode 9 it's a bit chaotic. The ending is very good, but ..... we all wanted…
Yes, I also mentioned earlier in comments, that, for me, everything went downhill from episode 9. As if the creators decided to completely change the flow of the story.
Honestly, I still think that the plot was overcomplicated in the second half, and I hoped for more resolutions...but the ending, considering how rushed the story was in the latest episodes, is ok. Better than I expected at least. I would love to see season 2, or at least small epilogue, but even if everything'll stay the same, I don't mind. Although, I think the main reason why this kdrama is so popular is the chemistry between main heroines, but not the story. With other actresses, especially without Hyeri( I heard about her, but never watched anything with her, except this series), I think the reception would've been worse.
For those who wanted to see GL... I suggest Call me by no name. Very good acting and story.
Is it just me or story in the latest episodes became too chaotic? I liked everything until episode 9, but then the detective side of story became too complicated in my opinion. As if creators cut a lot of content from webtoon, but instead overcomplicated the main story, There are a lot of good, even great, scenes in the latest episodes but everything seems... rushed. Characters change their behavior every episode, transition between scenes became less fluent....and I don't know how everything will be resolved(normally) in one 20-30 minutes episode. I'm not sure that even hour will be enough. If there is gonna be season 2...I'm okay with that, more time to finish all the plotlines. If not...then I hope for a decent ending at least. Not sad or happy...just normal, decent ending.
Question for those who read webtoon - I know that there are a lot of changes in the story, but also there are events which stayed more or less the same. I read that the scene at the end of 14 episode is somewhere in the middle of the webtoon's story. So my question - are the events of episode 15 also present in webtoon, and if yes is it near the end of webtoon or in the middle of the story?
P.S. Sorry for grammar mistakes. English is not my native language.
