same here. I wonder if she also punished the humans who abused her. maybe thats why songhe county doesn’t exist…
Sadly, I don't think she punished them. I don't think immortals are allowed to take human lives, so I don't think she did it. The Songhe county thing is confusing. As far as I understood, they were saying that the people there were leaving that place because the Flower demon was piercing human hearts and killing them (as shown in the starting of the drama). Later she even froze the city, so the rest of the people also fled from there. The county does exist, but people don't live there anymore due to the Flower demon attacks.
I'm really confused about that. Coz he clearly asked that Lady God whether they can have a kid and she said it's…
You mean that her egg did get fertilized but remained frozen? But that's not possible because the doc said that she was pregnant for 4 months, and he left her 3months back. That means she was pregnant for a month before he left her. Another thing I find unrealistic is that when he sealed her powers, it was an extremely painful process for her. How did she not miscarry due to that impact? Also, she drank for straight 3months after that, so how come the alcohol did not have any impact on the baby?
Call me heartless, but what agonizes me the most is not their child's death (yes, I did find it very painful to watch, but the most painful part is not that). It's what those human monsters did to her. They burnt her alive and when she didn't die, they buried her alive. Yeah, she is an immortal, but she can still feel pain. Just because she won't die, doesn't mean that she can't feel excruciating pain. When she was being burnt alive, I could clearly feel it in my heart how disgusting humans can be. These things are real; people were treated like this in the name of human sacrifices. I guess it also reminded me of the times when people were being cruel and heartless in my own life, so those scenes hit home for me. Also, the scene where they beat up Meng Changqin to death. Couldn't stand that either. People gang up against one person and demonize them, just so that they can scapegoat that person for their own suffering and also feel justified in treating someone like that, sucks!!
If it were me, I would develop intense disdain for humans. I can't believe she still has compassion for them. As for BJS, I started hating him the moment he said that he wanted to go back to heaven scot-free and act as if it was not his business anymore. Not a surprise that he never bothered to check-in on her even once in all those years. If it were me, I would never be able to forgive him. I would let him know what happened and cut him off forever and let him live in regret for the rest of his life.
I guess Impossible just means his protection to prevent her pregnancy failed.
I'm really confused about that. Coz he clearly asked that Lady God whether they can have a kid and she said it's dangerous. So, I thought they never slept together. If they did, how come they never had a kid for so many years (like almost 60 years)? What kind of protection would immortals use?
Honestly, I don't know anymore. Just when I think that their relationship is getting better, it all turns out to be an act. I wouldn't forgive either if I was abandoned, but does she really have to do this? Why can't she just cut off ties with him and live her own life? Why is she so relentless in getting revenge? She is honestly giving me trust issues, lol!
Watching ep16 and the ML is super annoying with all his heavenly retribution talk. First, he abandons her in the mortal realm after sealing off her powers in the most brutal manner and says that he can go back to heaven scot-free and act as if it's not his business at all. And also throws in a dialogue saying he cares only about results. Then he acts as if he is the victim, like seriously?? I'm sure they'll justify his actions showing that he made a deal with the heavens to let her live and got that punishment in exchange for her life and all that.
But can't he f**king TELL her? Can't he let her know the reason for his actions? Is it too much to ask for a girl's agency to be respected? How is she supposed to know his intentions when he doesn't have a TALK with her at all. He hides all important information from her and expects her to obediently listen to him. Is she supposed to be a f**king wallflower and not have a brain of her own? And then he sits and argues like a politician who memorized his substandard script for a rally. I'm sorry, all his mental gymnastics to justify his stance sound so st*pid! If I were her, even I would go crazy with revenge.
But I must say, she was a bit hasty when she got that dragon killed. She should've tried to have a calm talk with him on why his actions were wrong and should've persuaded him to return back to his place. In the end, his job was to protect the land, and his existence would still benefit the mortal world despite his sins. She did that with the heart-piercing demon, so I don't understand why she couldn't do it with this dragon. But that doesn't warrant abandonment from her life partner, no no.
yep there's drastic change from ep 13 to till ongoing episode, you feel pity for BJS but at the same time I was…
I think you are mistaking ep12 with ep13. Ep 13 gives the flashback of their life in mortal realm, and you can sort of understand why she might've had that mercy-less gaze in her eyes. I'm now in ep15, and yes, you do understand BJS's actions on why he might've done what he had done, but you also understand why A'Yue did what she did. I still don't know what exactly happened (didn't watch it completely) but can make a guess. By ep15 you realize that it's not either of their fault, it's the Heavens who are at fault. Keep watching and you will understand.
I don't usually cry, but OMG I cried buckets here. The relationship between Meng Chi and A'Yue transcends a typical Master-servant relationship. She is almost like a mother to him, or more like a Goddess he worships. His death was so sad to watch, his last memory being the back of the Goddess he revered throughout his life. I felt the disappointment in his face, poor him, yet he respects her like always. I wonder if he passed away out of worry and disappointment. I burst out in tears again at his paintings scene. That scene was so delicately beautiful, looks like he pour his heart and soul into his paintings, as he doesn't talk much usually.
I LOVED the ending! The twist was so good! Never expected Ling'er to actually help A'Yue. I don't know her intention behind helping her, but I don't hate her anymore. Throughout the episode I was hating on the ML and expected for him to be punished by that Heaven Lightning thingy. The 2ML is starting to grow on me and I kinda support him at this point, though I know that he might turn obsessive later. And the final scene was SO COOL with Qingyue getting that White Snake power and raising up with that cool pose!! That huge thing which was throwing lightning at her became a small toy in her hands, lol!
Can I ask why did ML agree to marry FL so easily in ep 1?
I think there are a few reasons: 1. He said that she is his spirit partner. They were probably in love with each other decades back and cultivated together, and he lost her when she "killed" herself. Since then, he has been in search for her. The fact that he immediately knows that she is in danger every time, means that they have some kind of blood pact between them. 2. Maybe he always wanted to marry her, now that he got a chance, he grabbed it. 3. The fact that he didn't do anything to her snake and even protected it when it was being killed shows that he still has feelings for her.
Watching ep6 and I feel that somehow the ML is the one who wronged the FL and she took revenge on him as a result. I think ML is projecting his own guilt onto the FL and hence feels those complicated emotions.
I'm feeling so bad for the FL. I wonder how heartbroken she would be when she gets back her memories and realizes she killed her own white snake. She is blindly loving him now; this would increase her rage multifold when she gets back her memories. Though I really like her present self, I really can't see her being in the dark about her past. I'm so not ready for the angst yet!
Watching ep5 and I loved the sword fight of the FL with the shadow assassinator. It was so well done! FL's character is so refreshing! She is not strategic or heroic, yet she can very well protect herself. She is a hopeless romantic and a little naive (believes everything from the romance novels to be true) but is nowhere near "weak". Her character demonstrates true strength - she knows when to seek help and doesn't shy away from being helped by her husband, at the same time does everything in her power to protect herself. I love the balance.
And their chemistry is sizzling!! The ML's expressions are so good!! He portrayed complex, conflicting emotions so well! His love, hate and confusion for the FL were conveyed so well in the same shot. He doesn't use many words. He communicates through his expressions.
Watching ep2 and I love how the FL is low-key in love with the ML and wants to marry him. And her dialogue, "Beauty truly leads people astray" - lol🤣! I am pleasantly surprised by the ML's acting here, as I usually don't like his acting. But here I love his portrayal of the character. He's hot!! The comedy is also done so good. I'm loving this!
Edit: Watched further and not low-key, she high key likes him, lol. Her bold confession was so cute!!
Watching ep 20, and I'm finding the ml to be so immature. Master Shu had all the right to lash out at him. His most important person is in danger after all, and they are not being as concerned about it. Despite the fl explaining to the ml that he would have acted even more anxious if it was her who was kidnapped, the ml kept acting obnoxious towards Shu. So, according to him only his love is important, and other's love is not? I really don't like him when he behaves like this.
This makes me also think about how he is the one who always causes misunderstandings, but others end up feeling guilty for the way they reacted. Like how in the starting, he was the one who told the fl that he treats the marriage as a contract marriage, but the fl ends up feeling bad for drawing out a contract based on his words. Another time, he made the fl believe that her dad was dead and made her go through the pain of losing a parent for days together but then made her apologize for "misunderstanding" him. How on earth would that be a misunderstanding? Even I would've reacted the same way if I was kept in the dark.
Sure, I do like him for being a loving husband and not being a toxic pos towards the fl like some other mls, but sometimes he does come off very self-absorbed and shows a significant lack of empathy in critical situations.
He starting to fall for her that's why he try to avoid her because he is her "brother" after all~
No, he did like her romantically. The earring scene in the snow in the starting, and his expression during their wedding night when she asks him if he never once liked her, are the proof.
"even I’m starting to see them more as siblings." lmao i thought i was the only one, i was thinking that they…
Yes, I’m afraid this will turn out to be like The Rise of Ning where they dragged the “sibling” arc for too long and the fl completely believed that the ml was her brother; she even tried setting him up with different girls. And when the truth came out, the transformation felt so forced, she suddenly fell deeply in love with him in the next scene itself. Ngl, their “couple” relationship felt so awkward, and I just couldn’t accept it naturally. Hope that doesn’t happen here.

In the middle of ep7 and holy crap!! I can’t believe Xianjun is the one who set them up!! The ml and fl helped her when she was about to get r*p*d by those bandits, how can she do this to him??!! She did seem a little sus from the start. When they first introduced her, she was being a little prideful when she gave money to the leads for saving her and walked away cockily, but I thought maybe she is like that because she is from an affluent family. Well, turns out your intuition is always right. And her audacity to blame everyone else! Sorry girl, your sob story (which actually doesn’t exist at all) doesn’t justify your actions. I feel sad for her mother to have a daughter like her.
“Brother, go about your business. Mr. Song teaches me very well.”
LOL!! Serves him right. He had so many chances earlier but never took any. Too late bro, you shouldn’t have avoided her earlier. Well, he at least took the initiative to teach her now. But I don’t know, the fl completely believes him to be her brother now, even I’m starting to see them more as siblings. She will probably find it very hard to accept the truth later, and I would definitely feel awkward when they start being a couple later. They shouldn’t continue with this siblings arc for too long IMO.
He starting to fall for her that's why he try to avoid her because he is her "brother" after all~
He has fallen for her long back. He was in love with her even when he disagreed for their marriage. He said that he didn't want to marry her because he doesn't want her to be in danger due to his mission.
Exactly because he has decided to be her "brother", he should stop avoiding her, or else it would give wrong impression to everyone, including her.
