I'm not sure if its modesty in this case, but in Japan during the summer, those with air conditioning typically have it very cold. My son lives in Japan and their offices AC is set to 67F. His partners parents have their home set to about that temperature as well, so he is always wearing long sleeves indoors. He and his partner keep their condo set to about 72F and sometimes people complain it's too warm. 😂 So maybe it's the same in this situation? Just a guess. However, Japanese are very conservative when it comes to showing skin so maybe the production company felt it necessary? Or maybe the actor/actor's mgmt asked for it?
This was charming! A bit cringe but not overly so, in my opinion. Some's cringe-meter might be different than mine, but that's cool. I actually liked the age gap since this dynamic is not uncommon in the gay community. My cousin's husband is 20 years younger. They've been together almost 25 years now. So they have also appreciated how the age gap was treated here as well. Also, the Ai-chan character was born premature, so he's a small person. While not all premie babies grow to be small adults, it sometimes occurs. My son was born at 900 grams (2 lbs) and he's 165 cm (not overly tall for a 30-yr old). Therefore, age and size difference were treated well, in my opinion. Some say there's a special episode? I haven't seen the announcement yet in my region, but I would welcome it!

Same here! I think I was guilty of judging the start against other tropey Nax/Nat roles. But seeing Max loving what he's doing from BTS videos, I'm cheering for him and his professional future.

Yes, he's liked her from afar from the beginning. In the first or second episode Changge told her to stay away from him because he was bad. But he picked up that bag later, as well as kept other things she either dropped or discarded. Early on Wei also clocked that Hao-du looked like he liked her as well. This couple, along with Mimi and Mujin, are the only 2 couples with chemistry, in my opinion. I like the actors that play Changge and Falcon but I just didn't feel like there was a real connection between the two.

Honestly, it was sweet. Yeah, some characters were a bit cartoonish, but overall a sweet vertical, with very attractive MLs. I watched it on the bus ride home and wasn't disappointed. This could have been a legit series if the character development was a bit more and some of the storyline more developed. This isn't going to stop your heart like The Prosecutor's Proposal...this is pre-PP. There's some plot holes like other verticals, but verts are are just relaxing for me to destress. I will say that one of the supporting actors had a really deep voice that actually gave me flutters. 😂😂 I would love to see something where he has more lines. 🥰 I watched this on GagaOOLaLa.

Regardless of the gender of the leads, a European version of this film would be applauded for its artistry, raw storytelling, and unique direction. It was a challenge for me, and I have been a European art house film fan for over 4 decades. However, after viewing the film I appreciated what the actors gave the audience. Your closing comments about sincerity in the story is spot on. This is not a cookie cutter film but a courageous expression of complicated emotions, vulnerability on all of the characters at various points in their relationships, and a window into intimate experiences some of us have encountered. This was uncomfortable on a personal level since I found myself, in my younger days, in a relationship like Gijun had with the photographer. Also, criticism was given regarding the Aran, the girlfriend, and offering up her boyfriend after hearing he was part of her boss's wet dream. I think if one ever gets a chance to be a part of a liberal arts/fine arts community where many of us are diverse (gender, sexuality, neurologically), we can be pretty open about things. I honestly didn't give this occurrence half a thought since it is a norm that I'm familiar with, but I can understand how some may not get it. Overall, this is a film that's not for everyone but, personally, I'm thankful it was made and appreciate the courageousness of the actors, directors, and all involved with this work of film artistry.
Same here! It's Japan and much of their television series/movies that aren't serious crime dramas tend to be exaggerated. This is a country where employee handbooks have illustrations that are cute anime-style. I'm watching a J-series, Loved Ones, and while it's solid with good acting, there's exaggeration and gimmicky tropes. I think this was sweet and the message was done well.

Yes! Kimisawa Yuki is amazing! His Instagram is great to watch his persona and sometimes flamboyant performances for his fans. I caught him in an old crime series my son was watching a bit ago. Was pleasantly surprised to see him in a BL. 😊
I agree completely on all counts! The two leads were adorable and probably one of the best verts I've seen in forever, it seems. I liked the storyline and the pacing was good. I watched it on GagaOOLaLa in one go... can't imagine Anu other way. The taller ML's voice is so deep and smooth, would love to listen to him all day/night. 😉
