Review Love Stage!!
Same here!
It's Japan and much of their television series/movies that aren't serious crime dramas tend to be exaggerated. This is a country where employee handbooks have illustrations that are cute anime-style.
I'm watching a J-series, Loved Ones, and while it's solid with good acting, there's exaggeration and gimmicky tropes.
I think this was sweet and the message was done well.

I really appreciate an β€œolder” actor, like Kimisawa Yuki, appearing in a BL series! His acting and expressions…
Yes!
Kimisawa Yuki is amazing!
His Instagram is great to watch his persona and sometimes flamboyant performances for his fans. I caught him in an old crime series my son was watching a bit ago. Was pleasantly surprised to see him in a BL. 😊

I watched it on GagaOOLala in one sitting. It wasn't bad at all, no stress. Handsome and good actors, although…
Same!
It's been a crappy week and this really hit the spot!
I totally liked the leads. Would like to see the actors again.

I agree completely on all counts!
The two leads were adorable and probably one of the best verts I've seen in forever, it seems.
I liked the storyline and the pacing was good.
I watched it on GagaOOLaLa in one go... can't imagine Anu other way.
The taller ML's voice is so deep and smooth, would love to listen to him all day/night. πŸ˜‰

This was really a good one for me. For such a shot series, it was humorous, touching and healing.. The actors…
TYSM!
I honestly got through 1.5 episodes and was not sure to continue... definitely on the fence...but I'm going to finish it from your comment that it was touching and healing, with the humor. πŸ™πŸΌ

Episode 3:This show is a hoot. There's this dark sister/brother love triangle brewing underneath, but overhead,…
πŸ₯° I agree... totally a 70s/80s vibe with the light-hearted parents, dog, older sister annoying younger brother... I'm enjoying it as a break from the darker ones I've watched lately.

It's not chinese, it's taiwanese... you know the first asian country to have same sex marriage and have adoption…
Yes.. excellent point
Also, I'm watching over a dozen Asian dramas right now (BL and others) so that's my excuse for the error πŸ€ͺ
I'm trying to get in as much as I can before the semester starts πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

πŸ™πŸΌYou're right...my mistake...even more reason why this was really bad overall.
Mixing up Taiwanese v Chinese is something I really should have not missed. My students will give me heck since some of them are on here.
Thanks for the correction

It wasn't really all that sad but just a few tragedian that weren't acted well because I really didn't feel anything…
I agree with a character that has that as their back-story I could totally understand and be sympathetic.
However, for me, I didn't feel any of that from the actor.
I think there was potential for this to be portrayed in a better way, but the actor either didn't have enough experience to convey this, or the direction was not great.
However, since the director for this series has a great track record from their past BL works that have had tragic characters and storylines, I feel the series lacked conveying the different layers of emotions the ML1 needed to embody and convince me this was his journey.
Typically, I'm a complete crybaby with characters like this, but in this case, I just didn't feel it.
However, some have given this series better reviews, so it probably just didn't vibe with me for whatever reason.

I was wondering how I even found out about this drama lol. Then I rememberedΒ  the director, Chiang Ping Chen,…
ITA about "See Your Love"... not sure how or why this got produced.
As one comment stated, they thought it was a vehicle to promote the boy band since China is attempting to globally market boy bands.
I think this might be valid since everyone in the band struggled with acting but legit played instruments.
Maybe the director got roped in because of his name recognition?
Definitely not of the same caliber as SYL.
If they wanted to promote the band to BL audiences, which is understandable since we are a formidable group, there could have been better ways.
I wish the band luck but will definitely not recommend this nor rewatch.

I should have read the synopsis before watching this. I hate the sad ones. 😫
It wasn't really all that sad but just a few tragedian that weren't acted well because I really didn't feel anything except frustration.
Usually I am a crybaby when tragedy occurs in BLs, but in this one I did πŸ™„(eye rolls) more than anything.

Spoiler: It is an open ending. 2ML confesses, but the MC is still trying to get over the passing of ML, so nothing…
Definitely... I was hoping throughout that something would get better, but nope.
We suffered through so you don't have to πŸ˜‚

Review Smile after Tears Spoiler
I completely agree!
This was a BL, but only because lead characters were guys...this could have been a sweet ML/FL teenage love story.
I kept getting angry at BF1 being a bit selfish. And what was with that scene where Plus One confessed he "fell for him" in the rain but BF1 said "I'll get back to with an answer" when we all know he likes Plus One. Seriously?
The basketball/child-hood friend got cheated on all levels. Granted, a lot is on him for not confessing, which I assume he was reluctant because he felt anything is better than nothing with Plus One.

Overall, very tepid series that could have been better, even for China.

The lack of kissing is odd and I feel the actors possibly didn't agree to it? IDK
This was not a standard BL, but with the barely lukewarm performances, I feel it's a stretch to call it a BL, and simply a teenage bromance (which for me, personally, is not the same).

I agree... this could have been a 12-episode... really would have liked a bit slower ending putting everything…
Really? πŸ€—
I guess I need to try and find the novel.πŸ₯°
Is it titled the same as the series?

IKR?!
I wanted to see Ju Taeson character stupidly puppy dog clingy to Chaeha... because I can totally see it from him in private when it's just the two of them. πŸ₯°

If I'm going to be honest, the ending was a little rushed. I feel like they should've showed us how life was after…
I agree... this could have been a 12-episode... really would have liked a bit slower ending putting everything together. Also, would have liked a scene of them together in either of their abodes 'connecting' as lovers after their confessions to each other. I realize this is selfish and I'm not talking NC, but just something stupidly romantic.
