I can fix him plan very successful

Okay, my title of the review sounds kinda horrible but let me explain.

The story. It pretty much starts out as an I can fix him and Mu Qingge executed it perfectly. When one reads the summary of this drama, Till the End of the Moon comes to mind. And honestly, Love of the Divine Tree is exactly what I expected Till the End of the Moon to be (I wrote a review on TTEOTM on here too, you can read it). The stories are similar, the FL is trying to save the ML from becoming demonized and thus saving the world. Love of the Divine Tree is pretty well paced, not too much drama, not leaving you heartbroken. The fate and heaven's will are defied, fought against with love, hope, patience and friendship/ companionship - I think the writers did a really great job. I do have some reservations towards the episodes pacing - I think the retrospective of the past events should've been longer and the present events should've been shorter. I liked everything up until episode 22 ish and then since Mu Qingge was held hostage by Su Yu, the story felt like it was trudging on slowly. Maybe I am influenced here because when I was at these episodes, I saw an ending spoiler on social media (please do not share the ending, ever. No matter if the drama is new or old). The latter half of episode 40 could've been an epilogue episode. Do not get me wrong, I love this type of ending, but it definitely could've been an epilogue episode. What I missed in the story was Su Yu's full ending (you'll know what I mean) and an explanation on Mu Ranwu because we were left to guess. Even though it is pretty obvious, I think I did not catch it as the writers intended. One more thing, what was the deal with suddenly putting Su Xiao Xiao into the story? Her character was pointless in my opinion. Or did I miss her at the beginning? I don't know.

The casting. I'll break the rules of English grammar here. Deng Wei was the absolutely most perfect casting decision. He's truly the embodiment of Su Yishui. In my personal opinion, another great casting option could've been Luo Yunxi. But Deng Wei, he was just perfect. I feel like Cao Yu Chen, Bai Shu, Ai Mi and Hu Wei are the honourable immortals of every other drama I watch (I always love to see them). Cao Yu Chen especially has an ethereal immortal vibe. I very much appreciate Deng Kai as a morally grey character, I saw him only as the villain so far. The only change to the casting I'd make would be switching the actresses of Zhou Fei Hua and Tu Jiuyan, I personally think they'd fit more like this.

The soundtrack. I missed something like a grand centerpiece song here. The most outstanding track to me was Rong Yao's song. Otherwise, I have nothing more to add here

Rewatch value. I think this drama is a must watch in this year. Definitely worth a second watch.

I am a sucker for hanfu in costume dramas, accessories and setting builds. I very highly appreciate all the hanfu for Su Yishui. All his wardrobe reflects the hues of his personality - an elegant, flowing, tall figure hanfu for the sect sovereign, a simpler decoration and embroidery for the sovereign rebuilding Mount Wester, a lavish looking headpiece for the former Su Yishui persona - you get what I mean. Just. Beautiful. To look at.

Overall, a very solid 9/10 in my eyes, definitely worth the time and subscription.
