Title The Double
I invite you do read my article about the Double "The Presence of Arts in The Double, worked together with the…
Hi, Jiang Hu The Martial Sword. Thank you very much for your words. I am immensely happy to contribute to an even more in-depth sensorial experience of this iconic series that continues its upward trajectory around the world. The universe of aesthetics has multiple lenses that can be acquired, depending on our effort to expand knowledge. The more we delve into this sensitive world, the more we obtain from our perception of art, Beauty, Poetry. Ancient Chinese art is a vast territory, within the cosmos of this artistic language you find several other cosmoses, it is enchanting. This facet of Chinese art, present even in the simplest series (there are always musical instruments, there are always quotes from poets, like Li Bai, there is always the presence of rites, philosophy, painting) needs not only to be highlighted, but to make them accessible to the ordinary watcher, not only so he can better enjoy his journey through the series but, in a special way, to always leave a cultural legacy for those who watch the series and films. I want to praise the MDL writer, Cho Na, who signed the exquisite visual design and the competent preliminary edition, for this initiative, as he saw value in my texts present in the Discussions section and suggested that I transform them into an article. The repercussion surprised me, I didn't imagine such interest, just as I was surprised by the high level of interactions in the article. This reveals a demand in this field of art and reasoned criticism. I deeply appreciate your comment, looking forward to exchanging insights with you again.

I also hope to see energetic attitudes, instead of a scared little mouse sneaking around the edges. The series has 2 directors, one of them is a woman. I have a clear feeling that she flattens the MLs...

Hi, Ilwa qweq! You don't need to apologize for expressing an opinion politely. You are welcome. The article has no other objective than to shed light on the ancient art of China that is present in the series. Certainly, fans will have "double" pleasure in seeing their favorite series from the point of view of art. Even in the simplest productions, Chinese culture and art are present. In the case of The Double, the series' conception focused on aesthetics in a sophisticated way, by combining several artistic languages with skill and competence, reconciling these assets with an efficient narrative and plot. The Double, despite contrary opinions, achieved unanimity among qualified critics regarding its quality, in addition to mobilizing a legion of fans around the world. Even though you have your opinion on this iconic work of anthological value for Chinese cinematographic production I hope you appreciate Chinese art and culture, a universal heritage whose importance is indisputable. I thank you for the opportunity to express my perceptions. You are very welcome!

From then on, LM changed completely... It's the only explanation for LM to erase, in one click, her lifelong passion…
😂😂😂 The directors/writers destroyed poor LM. Initially portrayed as dignified, with impermeable loyalty, incapable of putting sense before duty. What's she now? An unrecognizable woman, more similar to Frankenstein than the bold General. This incense removes dignity!

Since we spoke about it, I have been waiting for your article to be published. And I am very pleased, as usual,…
Hi, dearest friend Unbeliebubble! Since the beginning of The Double we have exchanged perceptions. It was my debut in the MDL comments section. For a long time, I just read. And you, one of the most active voices of qualified criticism, soon began to make some of the best conversations on The Double's page. I read and learned from your topics in the Discussions section, like your interpretation of the final scene of Duke Su on the battlefield in light of the work "The Art of War". Your charming intelligence and humor gave (and still gives) special shape and color to his interventions. Thank you very much for your words, for the exchange of knowledge and for being part of this journey in the world of art.

Hi, Zephyrhienne! Thank you very much for the words. Art is the meaning of my life, so when I share it with someone, I give my life away. This contact with other art lovers, like you, who is so sensitive, enlivens the colors of life, which in its nature is art itself.

That incense has a permanent effect...👇
From then on, LM changed completely... It's the only explanation for LM to erase, in one click, her lifelong passion for MJH, and fall in love with a traitor, murderer, enemy of people. Disgusting!

Her arrival with the troops, as if she were the savior of the kingdom, after a battle won by MJH and several dead soldiers, who fought with MJH, is completely unreasonable! The director seems to flatten the KMLV MLs.

Hi, SandGirl_Nicky! Your observation reflects your sensitivity. In fact, the Chinese historical series are an…
Hi, SandraGirl_Nicky! I agree with you. Certainly, the lack of contact or basic knowledge of a culture makes it difficult to assimilate an artistic work, whatever it may be, although, as you very aptly point out, literature and visual arts are bridges to this better understanding. The world recognizes Chinese civilization as a heritage, of course. But I believe that contact with Western culture is more accessible to Chinese/Oriental people than Western contact with Eastern culture, since, in general, access to the Western cultural industry has always worked towards massification, at the same time as subliminally stereotyping the oriental culture, seen as exotic (an example of this are characters presented in a caricatured way).

Another aspect is how History is taught. From a European point of view, "The Invasion of the Barbarians" tells the History of certain Asian and Arab peoples. On the other hand, "The conquests of the Crusades" narrate the great civilizational movement, from a heroic perspective. It is true that this distance is changing quickly, and one of the biggest responsible for this change is exactly the film industry, especially the Chinese one. This production invaded all streaming services around the world and has been dominating the market. In the apps I use, the offer of Asian films/series, mainly from China and South Korea, is as large as Western programming. This change was unavoidable, and is irreversible, it also has to do with geopolitics that established a new set of forces and has been overturning the view that the East, China are exotic. Series/films with urban plots are interesting because they show contemporary behavioral, social and family issues, necessary to establish affinities, similarities and at the same time contribute to the assimilation of differences as an essential factor for better understanding the culture/customs of other peoples.
But nothing is as efficient as Art, the culture of a people is its fingerprint, the strength of these assets is so effective that when Rome invaded Greece, it was unable to impose its cultural and artistic standards, a phenomenon that happens with invaded peoples. The strength of Greek art was so vigorous that it made the opposite movement, influencing the art and culture of the invader. Art is our divine spark. Thank you, once again, for this wonderful exchange. I hope to see you in other MDL discussions.
