That's great that you managed to see the final episodes!! This series is a masterpiece! I'll send you a PM with other ways that might be useful in similar situations.
I really like Marcus Here!, the information and updates on the channel are useful and reliable. I thought about creating a channel, but it takes up too much time, in addition to the price you pay for the exposure of your own image. I read your review, it's precise, fluid, well-structured, meticulous, fair, objective, and permeated by a balanced and well-founded critical perspective. As always! 😊
I watched SB up to episode 8. The other series you mentioned, TAD, wasn't on my list, I took a look before replying, saw you there, it seems interesting. The Vendetta of An is on my list (I added it to my phone's calendar...). Marcus Here! confirmed today that this series premieres on December 12th. Thanks for the tips! It seems we'll continue our chat! As soon as I read your review, I'll comment!
Thank you for letting me know, I'll read it! It was great to share insights with you, it was an engaging and fun chat. Your irreverence and sense of humor are seasonings that enhance your critical view. Thank you for this exchange!
ROTF 🤣🤣 What explains our dedication to writing a review and ending up like this, like you 😅? I spent most of Saturday elaborating the text, gathering and organizing everything I was writing (I save a good portion of my comments, they're really little pieces of a mosaic). Despite the considerable time dedicated to writing a review, there's a magical happiness in revealing on these virtual pages what's most human in our hearts: what we feel! This debate with you is very stimulating! As soon as you post your review, let me know. For now, I'm just coming here, I'll be watching!
That's my perception, since we've exchanged so many views on this matter (the negative points). I don't know if MDL maintains the restriction, but either way, I'm sure you'll adapt your text without sacrificing even a single comma of what you have to say.
Very well written review, I enjoyed reading it. The points and summary you mentioned about this drama has totally…
Hi, Megumi! It's always a pleasure to share critical views with you, a sensitive person whom I've seen on the pages of MDL for a long time, a presence that stands out for its accurate and frank perception. Considering what you commented, I wonder to what extent the writer's influence goes in the direction of the story's realization: I read half of the novel, it's extraordinarily rich in detail, a clear contrast with the adaptation. Indeed, the director is very inspired, but he betrayed the viewers, as you rightly point out, and I add that he betrayed the writer as well. It seems that The Double continues to reign in Olympus as a classic that no other production has managed to surpass, regardless of genre, because what's at stake is the quality of all aspects of the production. And 2025 has practically come to an end. From what I've read, 2026 promises a harvest that will compensate for the investment we make, especially everything our hearts deliver. TYSM for your comment! See you around!😄
Today I finished my review, a mosaic of the main insights I've discussed here. The link is below, in case you're interested in reading it.
I'll say upfront that I give a 10 to the actors, the OST, the cinematography/aesthetics, and the costume design. For the writer and director, who explore the storyline with depth, rationality, originality, and rare clichés, I give a 9, up to episode 20. It is, artistically and technically, a quality production.
I imagined my review would be a single block, in which I assigned a score of 9 up to episode 18, hoping that the score would remain until the end, or even rise to 10. But my review turned into two distinct blocks, with a final score of 8, for a work that truly delivered artistic quality, aesthetics, and performances until the end, but failed in its narrative, plot development, and connections with crucial characters, with many unforgivable plot holes from episode 20 to the end, in addition to deconstructing important characters.
LOTTL is a remarkable series, even with its inconsistencies. It leaves countless scenes in my imaginary that l'll keep with immense affection for their poetic beauty, and because the story of NJL and Yt is a hymn to love.
I loved being here with all of you, exchanging experiences and sharing this fantastic universe. My feeling is one of gratitude, because I learned so much from all of you! Thank you!! See you around!
1- Yes, according to the spoiler in the link, Lu Jie is the biggest boss of Qinglang. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7kAho-3gYxQ&pp=0gcJCRUKAYcqIYzv…
It's very common for series to produce more than one arc, both for characters and for the epilogue, as was the case with The Double. I loved LJ from beginning to end, without that image influencing my perception, because during the development it was very clear that they would maintain the initial arc. What made me believe that she would be kept as she was presented was the building of a friendly relationship between her and the restaurant owner, when he stayed at NJL's house for security reasons. Whenever there is uncertainty about certain information, "according to" is used, and I used it in my comment. And if you had read all my comments here you would have seen that I was careful to assume that a change of direction was possible, a twist in the sense of keeping the adorable Lu Jie. You are very welcome to express your opinion.
I read in a spoiler that it would be the "madness pill" that would make her bolder and, let's say, more…
So... there are 5 episodes to wrap up the following: 1- The unfolding of the pill NJL took and the subsequent fight. JBC would appear in this context, we don't know in what condition... 1.1- NJL suffers the sword blow from LXR, YT is also hit; 1.2 Her mother appears to rescue her (maybe episode 28 will end after this point). If her mother kills LXR, there's nothing left for the final development. I believe she will prioritize her daughter; 2- NJL's mother pulls her and puts her in the chamber with the meat herself; 3-Meanwhile, YT is lying in the cave, but should be rescued, maybe by YR, and will need to recover minimally to try to rescue NJL; 4- LXR will remain alive, there will be a new confrontation with YT when he goes to rescue NJL; 4.1 - LXR would reveal the secret about his sister, she reappears, would be used as a shield/for revenge, but would be killed by YT and/or his sister; 4 - YT goes after NJL, we don't know his context in the scene with the diving suit. He dives and is pulled to the bottom; 4.1 YT finds NJL and rescues her; 5 - Final arc: NJL's recovery, who also loses her memory. LL and LX reconcile, peace seems to reign and they move towards "And they lived happily ever after"; 6 - I ask: in this scenario, where would Lu Jie, Shuang He and what's left of the hunters fit in?

Yes, I saw that spoiler too. I search for spoilers in Mandarin (with Google...), because naturally there's a huge variety that you don't find in English. You're right, a bunch of subplots to tie up and make sense of the plot, and 5 episodes (cut, on top of that...) to conclude. It looks like it's going to be intense!

I have that feeling too. So far, no image of YT's sister, now an adult, has appeared, but the plot certainly needs to close that wound and say what happened to her. We already know what happened to NJL's mother, now we need an explanation about YT's sister. And then there's Lu Jie... I keep thinking: is it possible that they prepared two arcs for her and simply decided to leave her as she is? It even seems like she and the restaurant owner could end up together... It would be a great ending for both of them.
