The comparison is perfect! 😂 They're useless, an irrelevant piece in the plot development, and very poorly characterized, they all have inconsistent profiles, they seem like a group of amateur guerrillas.

I believe this refers to the new character (a monstrous humanoid fiend) that appears in episode 24. He's inside the mine where YT is confined, and there's a fierce fight between him, NJL, YR, and YT. Trailers 23-24 are out now, take a look.

Despite the disappointment, given the emotional bonds we formed with her, the plot gains a very impactful volume, density, and intensity!

Indeed, apparently she was introduced without any suspicious behavior. It seems the next episodes will be insane, many secrets will come to light, the puzzle is starting to take shape and make sense.

This excellent actress, Shi Yue Ling, played the cruel and sadistic Empress Dowager Zhou in the series The Legend of Zhuo Hua. I was very impressed to see her in a role that was supposedly the opposite of the Empress Dowager. Apparently, she's returned to her roots...

According to the spoiler, the main interest lies in NJL's knife, which activates the secret of immortality. What he intends is to use NJL's bloodline to free himself from dependence on blood bags from others.

Your analysis is technical and precise, as always (I really enjoy your comments, I always see you commenting on many series, in general), it's exactly as you describe, filling space, they don't seem like characters, but extras. I hope there's some maturation in the next episodes. But, to be honest, they're not missed at all, all the consistency of the series rests on the leads, the villains, and LX and LL, who so far are progressing in a solid and impactful development that leaves sensory and emotional marks, but we'll survive until the next episodes! 😄

Exactly! This group lacks a cohesive storyline; despite being a team, they don't convey cohesion, there's no connection between its members, they're amorphous and extremely passive, zero proactivity. On the contrary, they're always disagreeing on everything, oscillating between forced bad moods and taciturn behaviors without function or meaning. This is a flaw in the series' construction and consolidation of the character of this group, which inspires no fear whatsoever. The solution to give them some life and competence was to pull a lightning-fast strategy out of a hat, as easy as stealing an ice cream from a child 😅 It was a waste because they could have explored the strength of their ancient history and martial heritage, but even that is nebulous. Instead, they gathered in monotonous rituals with little visual and emotional appeal for the viewer. The villains are totally memorable and convincing.

He certainly looked pitiful - I was wondering if preview for ep 22 was a near death experience for him
In fact, what suggests that your interpretation might be correct is the tangerine scene in the link I posted above this comment, which has a oneiric atmosphere. In that scene, NJL repeats the same gesture from New Year's Eve, when she offers him the tangerine and tells him that it symbolizes a prosperous and happy life, suggesting a future together with him.

As much as I like the fight scenes - I like that the hunters were smart about taking down the fiends. Almost too…
I agree, it also seemed too simplistic to me, it It didn't add any shine to the group, after they spent most of their time in static scenes, endless meetings, or simply sitting around, maintaining dialogues without much relevance.
