I agree with you. When I saw that scene you mentioned, I thought I had misunderstood it, so I rewatched it twice…
TYSM for the explanation! We already have many pieces of the puzzle, the plot is starting to gain more depth, intensity, and clarity. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's episodes, they will be impactful. I take this opportunity to say that I really enjoy your comments and reviews, they are always very insightful, well-articulated, well-founded, and occasionally with a touch of humor. You always bring up good discussions!
Blind asswipe; is all I can say. Other than capturing the fiends; what has been his contribution? How’s he been…
I agree with you. When I saw that scene you mentioned, I thought I had misunderstood it, so I rewatched it twice to be sure. From then on, she took on a whole new dimension...
okay, I somehow paused this and picked it up again since I have the time now.. currently on EP 15 scene with the…
1- Yes, according to the spoiler in the link, Lu Jie is the biggest boss of Qinglang. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7kAho-3gYxQ&pp=0gcJCRUKAYcqIYzv 2-Yes, he is betraying the group's interests for personal gain, driven especially by his jealousy of YT, consciously putting his life at risk. Watch at least up to episode 18: JNL and YT's kiss is wonderful
"Blood bag" refers to human blood used by fiends to stabilize and maintain their human form, but it can't be just any blood; it needs to be compatible with their organism. Furthermore, it's necessary to maintain the lineage of these humans with compatible blood. That's why LXR is pressuring LL to have a relationship with LX, in order to guarantee descendants who will continue supplying the blood bag.
I can’t with Xing Shen. I find him annoying ever since he decided to take the pill to improve his smell sense,…
The pill improved his uselessness. He's super annoying, a dull, obtuse, proud, presumptuous, authoritarian, sick character, he has no leader qualities, zero charisma. I imagine YT saving his life, that would be the best lesson for him. The South Mountain Hunters seem like a bunch of idle people, spending day and night in that room, sometimes eating, sometimes chatting, sometimes talking to their families on their phones, they don't train, they don't get involved with absolutely anything! IMOP this group, so poorly structured and inconsistent as characters, would be the biggest flaw in the series' plot.
I don't understand why YT used that bracelet weapon in that moment against LXR😣😣She already told him he…
NJL, when giving the bracelet to YT, explained that the needle's function wasn't to kill anyone, but to save him from great danger, and that he would know the right moment. LXR was choking him, and he felt he was on the verge of reaching his limit.
Lu Jie is the biggest boss of Qinglang! 😱 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7kAho-3gYxQ&pp=0gcJCRUKAYcqIYzv
I saw in the link below that the creature appearing in the cave where YT is trapped is No.19 of Lin Xirou's creations, You Peng. Take a look at the link. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9hziq9Cdl_Y

It's been a long time since The Double that I've seen a plot without clichés, tropes, predictions, and LOTTL is delivering that, we're being surprised. According to the spoiler in the link above, what he most desires is NJL's knife because it has the power to break chains and grant immortality, in addition to allowing him to get rid of the blood bag from others and use NJL's bloodline.
was thinking to watch it! what's up with the rating guys?? 7.9?
The series is wonderful! The review below was written when I had only watched 12 episodes. We're already on episode 22 and the quality has proven to be consolidated; I maintain the same opinion as in that initial analysis. The plot is intelligent, well-written, and unfolds at an impeccable pace. Dilraba is giving a show-stopping performance, and Chen Xing Xu, besides being a Greek god and making many female viewers swoon, is exceptional in the role, overflowing with talent and delivering a brilliant performance! I hope I've convinced you! 😅

So far, 12 episodes, my first impressions:
●7.9 is an artificial rating that should be banned by platforms, haters are not film critics, but demolishers of works of art and reputations. I gave LOTTL a 9, with the prospect of giving it a 10 if the quality holds until the last episode.
●Quality production
●Competent director and writer who explore the storyline with depth, rationality, originality, with rare clichés.
●Very well-structured aesthetics and cinematographic aspects that act on the viewer's emotional universe, with meticulously explored environments, enhancing the viewer's immersion, in addition to atmospheres that range from luminosity to shadow, from dim light to darkness, but always strongly contrasting with the light (Example: scene of Guo Ya's execution, episode 11).
●The series has an almost dizzying pace that balances action, emotion, tension, violence, humor, anxiety, love, delicacy, lightness, and density.
● An intelligent, engaging, and easy-to-understand plot, for now, unpredictable.
● Impeccable costume design.
● Solid characters with well-structured characteristics, well-articulated and believable emotional and psychological aspects.
●Perfect chemistry between the leads, the direction explores sensuality without trivialization, and develops the relationship between the leads with an engaging progression.
●Impeccable acting from all the actors.
●Impactful fight scenes that don't exploit excessive blood, but well-coordinated blows with good choreography.
■ My very personal impressions:
It is not a simple task to discuss the sources of Chinese cinematographic production, since even science fiction works resonate with the ancient roots of the country's culture, notably the influence of "The Classic of Mountains and Seas" (Chinese: 山海经, Shanhai-jing), a Chinese classic text and a compilation of mythic geography and beasts.
The series blends mysticism, legends, history, science fiction, suspense, horror, romance, and adventure, in a cocktail that reminds me of the atmospheres of Alien, Blade Runner, The Shining, Rosemary's Baby, and The Name of the Rose.
These impressions make no comparison between these works and Chinese cinematographic narrative, structure, and aesthetics, whose creative process is supported by its own technical elements, is inspired by national sources that have consolidated their own standard, in a movement that starts from within the country and extends outward, with a life of its own, because it's free from Western formulas.
