Your analysis is exceptionally well articulated, and I agree with many of your points. In the early episodes,…
Shouldn't I say that RJL and PXR deserve much more than this drama that mediocre writers offered them? Of course they do, and we have to tell these writers that. I'll watch until the very last episode because I'm a fan of RJL and PXR. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't give my feedback to the writers. I truly believe that our criticism is a way of support for RJL and PXR, whose talent was wasted on a mediocre story.

Today we had two more predictable episodes and the unacceptable disrespect of the writers shoving down our throats an implausible LCC, because it offends intelligence and exhausts tolerance. As a character, she was presented to us as dignified, honest, loyal, fair, loving, balanced, and fearless. But to cater to the fetishes of writers who weaken the image of women, they change LCC's character at their whim, making sure to have NO commitment to her qualities, and in today's episodes (20-21), they presented us with a volatile and unprincipled LCC, because, already armed with all the truth, she was unable to correct the mistakes in which her surroundings entangled her. So, LCC forgives and excuses all those who truly betrayed her with heinous crimes, but doesn't excuse nor connect XH with the elucidated facts and, worse, ignores him, even knowing that he omitted the truth not to commit crimes, but with good intentions, however questionable.

What is the real intention of these biased and dishonest writers? To create serious demerits for LCC (read "woman"...) and overvalue and overcenter the victimhood of XH (read "man"), thus consolidating the supposed superiority and magnanimity of men at the high price of dragging LCC into the pit of supposed feminine pettiness and lack of intelligence.

The writers killed the dignified LCC and delivered to us an executioner, merciless woman. She didn't deserve this, nor did we.

The story and the characters lost consistency with each episode, seeming more like a children's story (today's episodes seem to be the climax of this disaster), the narrative is superficial, the plot twists lack strength, the storylines and solutions are simplistic and predictable, LCC and XH's reactions to critical situations are totally artificial, non-human reaction, and therefore don't generate empathy in the viewer, in addition to little action, little plot, an excess of poisons, potions, powders, miraculous and newly discovered antidotes, leads frequently injured, poisoned, or drunk.

The writers need to respect the audience and know that we have critical sense. They excessively manipulate the narrative construction through dialogues and behaviors devoid of even a minimum of rationality. It assaults logic, affronts intelligence, and is unacceptable for being so recurrently illogical and going against all the most basic rational parameters. It tears apart, from top to bottom, concepts related to character and integrity. In turn, the villains are devoid of intelligence, lacking connection and logic within the narrative of the villains' core. They devise childish plans, a thousand failed schemes, a thousand ambushes, and dozens of soldiers to kill a single Xiao Huan who, even dying, defeats them all. These plans are unconvincing, you watch the fights and ambushes yawning, with zero emotion. We faced a drama that uses and abuses tropes. Nothing surprises you, you can anticipate every minute...

Wonderful actors, like RJL and PXR, were totally underutilized in poorly structured, even somewhat caricatured, characters. I feel sad for the actors. I'm only watching because of them. This is the support we can give them, after they've given us so much joy.

To criticize the mediocrity of writers is to show solidarity with RJL and PXR.

Hi, Mrs Gong! First of all, your comments/analyses of the series have always caught my attention for their quality, accuracy, balance, and depth. I read this comment with the same soul with which I've been reading you, and I found the same qualities. Upon reaching the end of your comment, I was moved, because in real life, pure people, faithful to principles and values, also pay a high price. Therefore, we can imagine that many who are here embody the character of Cang Cang and, perhaps for that reason, are able to accurately describe where her life hurts.

I waited for today's episodes to give you a more consolidated opinion on the series. It's right below. I'm going to repost this text in the comments because it already represents what I think of the series and what they did with LCC. Thank you again for your valuable comment.

Is this a sad ending?
I read in a comment from someone who read the novel that they have a happy life with their five children for a long time, but die together in battle. The series made profound changes, and our hope is that they change that ending to a truly happy one. But I think the knot is in RJL's history (very similar to Liu Yu Ning's...): with rare exceptions, he dies or, at best, is left alone, as in TDHR...

I have a weird question for a Chinese person. What do you use to write? Because I'm learning Chinese and my handwriting…
Since no one has answered you yet (and you were expecting guidance from a Chinese person), and I'm also studying Mandarin (on my own), I decided to leave some information here. I honestly use a regular pen, although I know you get better results with specific pens. Take a look at this link, it's a Google page with several other links on the subject, with technical information about options and according to the objective. And you're right, your question is valid. I hope a Chinese person can give you a precise answer. For now, perhaps the link below might be useful to you.

You outdo yourself with each comment; they're all so precise, subtle, and have a touch of humor! Once again, I completely agree. The topic is as vast as it is complex. Indeed, part of this male universe of authors is driven by fetishes that have been naturalized and, therefore, passively accepted and absorbed by women. Not infrequently, I'm shocked by female writers who use their creative power not only to crown these fetishes, but also to exert a nefarious influence. I'll take this opportunity to give you a spoiler about the character played by the actor you don't like: he dies in episode 12! 😅 I hope this makes you reconsider, watch the series and delight us with your fulminating comments! 😄

Facts!!!👏 Say it louder for the people in the back. Cangcang fans have been saying this for ages but it seemed…
You just described the mechanism of this type of narrative, it's like the siren's song. The viewer is gradually enveloped by in anesthesia and allows themselves to be inoculated by a slow process of emotional domination that distorts and deconstructs basic principles and values, replacing them with a subliminal message that will dominate the narrative and gradually put absurd versions of what love is in place of our own beliefs and convictions. Having been betrayed through countless lies and omissions, we accept the climax of this process as a natural occurrence: she is not only blamed, as Du Ting Xin did today (episode 17), but she becomes convinced that she is guilty and, to the glorification of the man (who made her go through hell), she will redeem herself for the sin she did not commit and apologize! Insane! It was great that you posted Peng Xiao Ran's statement on Weibo!

Hey, BearFightingFanBackAgain!! We're all in this together! Yeah!!! I was following everything, I couldn't stay silent! The most ridiculous thing about this supposed protection is that when he met Cang Cang, he encountered a strong Cang Cang, the most feared warrior, self-sufficient, independent, and he put her in a box, imprisoned her spirit, took away her decision-making power, her freedom to face life's natural blows, and belittled her ability to cope with disappointments. A woman doesn't need a tutor! We are all Cang Cang!!!🙌

A voice of reason, but you will not see much reaction to this because most that shout the loudest are often unable…
I completely agree with you. Behind the many "beautiful love stories" there are, in fact, mechanisms that clearly aim to manipulate and perpetuate this condition of women worldwide, regardless of geopolitics.

What surprises me most is that women themselves devote their love to characters who mistreat women. An example of this is the character Xiang Liu (Tan Jian Ci) from "Lost You Forever," who mistreated Xiao Yao (Yang Zi), broke both her legs, and sucked her blood to keep himself alive. There was a great deal of support for a "happy ending" between Xiao Yao and Xiang Liu, to the detriment of the man who devoted himself to her, Tushan Jing (Deng Wei), and who treated her with extreme purity and devotion.

The industrial world has various ways to maintain and perpetuate this subservience of women; it's also done by the toy industry: for boys, cars, airplanes, boats, motorcycles; for girls, pots, dishes, stoves, babies. Do I need to comment on this?

I respect and commend your care in not posting your text in the MDL Discussions section, since you only watched one episode and don't wish to continue with the series. However, I argue the following: although you have only watched one episode, the perspective you present does not refer to the work or the specific episode (which is open to critical analysis, why not?), but solely to the treatment given to a dignified, honest, and virtuous female character, transformed by the way she is presented into a foolish and even cruel woman, simply because she behaves and reacts according to the maneuvers of her husband, who insists on protecting a woman he knew as a strong, independent, self-sufficient warrior, transformed by him into a mere ornament. He acts like a tutor, overprotecting a warrior, ridiculous! That's why I think it's worthwhile to post, condensing your two very pertinent comments, because they are surgical and fit any story that treats women in this way.

I hope to continue exchanging perceptions with you, whether here or on other MDL pages: your voice carries weight! Thank you so much for yet another wonderful sharing!

Thank you for this. LCC doesn't deserve all the hate and curses. I feel really sorry for her inside and outside…
Hi, Aira! Thank you for your sensitive comment. It's always heartening to have people like you who share the same ideals and feelings. Although Cang Cang belongs to the fictional world, there are thousands of real "Cang Cangs" around the world, and it's for them that we must always raise our voices. How wonderful that you also raise your voice for them; there are many of us strengthening and consolidating true love!

A voice of reason, but you will not see much reaction to this because most that shout the loudest are often unable…
Your words are powerful, they moved me deeply! You dissect with intelligence and skill this boundary between love and obsession. Anyone who uses love to camouflage manipulation, and who calls protection what is actually domination, is an impostor! Although we are dealing with mere fiction, fiction uses human values applicable to common real life. For millennia, fables have been used to denounce vices and highlight virtues. Therefore, stories are not just entertainment; they have a function in human life, they have the mission of building or demolishing. May fiction not normalize aberrations, may we, as recipients of this entertainment, have the independence that only critical thinking gives us, and thus not be easy prey in the traps that you describe with skill and clarity. Thank you for your valuable comment: please put it in the "Discussions" section so it doesn't get lost in the limbo of comments; it's a useful legacy for anyone who comes here to watch the series. I put my text there, out of love...for love...

On Love and Crown Nov 21, 2025
Let's put ethical values in their proper place.

Basic premises:

● Cang Cang, an open-minded, healthy, pure-hearted character, devoted to noble goals.

● XH, a problematic, insecure character with fragile health and a morbid behavioral profile who constantly plays the victim.

1- CC is the only character who leads a transparent life, with ZERO hidden agendas.

2- She was admired for living a simple and altruistic life, grounded in her ideals and love for her people, never bothering or harming anyone.

3- Without aspiring to power, she stubbornly embraced the mere and legitimate ambition to fight injustice and corruption.

4- At one point, she is approached by XH, who used a false identity (a crime for any subject, except for the Emperor, who should strive for example), with the sole objective of expanding and consolidating his power.

5- His love for her was an unexpected accident, but her love for the fake BCF was true from the beginning.

6- Used as a pawn by her father and XH, CC was ensnared by both of them, as well as her adoptive brother.

7- In this circus of forged stories, much more to cover up the criminals (the Master, CC's father and brother) than to "protect" CC, the manipulations generated reactions totally in accordance with these forged stories.

8- CC, once a cheerful and active character, became spiritually ill after being forced to live in a den of falsehood and cruelty.

And now I ask:
Why did all the criticism fall precisely on the victim, CC, whose life was completely demolished by the deliberate manipulation exercised by XH? I answer: because she is a woman.

Why the enormous tendency to defend XH and consider him a martyr? You know the answer...

I conclude:

This type of narrative, in which someone who has power and authority over another uses that power to deliberately lie and omit information, provoking reactions entirely in line with those actions, only to ultimately throw in the victim's face "while you hated me, I protected you," is very dangerous because it inverts values and turns the perpetrator into a martyr, while the victim, who suffered from the supposed protection, is thrown into the swamp of completely undue remorse, since it was not given to her the opportunity to act and react within the context of the truth.

CC deserves to be admired. She cried very little in the context of the hospice where she was confined! The only one who deserves the weight of our criticism is the one who lies and chose to betray CC's trust, whom he claims to love, to cover up for CC's corrupt family and keep his word with a criminal who agreed to enslave and kill children.

XH led Cang Cang astray; she reacts to what she sees concretely. What fault is it of hers to be pushed into error? He seems to be a masochist. This kind of narrative is perverse because it leads the viewer astray as well, because the viewer sympathizes with XH and strongly condemns CC. Behind this lies the tendency to demand too much from women and act condescendingly towards men.
