Hi, Minimini, you deserve these words. Not only are you very fair in your criticisms, but you also firmly support your own thesis when interpreting LY's supposed reincarnation. Interpreting is an act of freedom, there isn't just one way to understand life when it manifests itself through the hands of the supernatural. So, go ahead! I'll wait for you to let me know when your review is published! 😊

What a wonderful analysis! It's moving! You create a meticulous, precise, and fair mosaic, with a sensitivity that illuminates the human issues so neglected by the scriptwriters, who, in turn, showed contempt for our ability, as viewers, to judge the quality of this mediocre work. I have a request of you, Minimini: please turn this beautifully written text into a Review. Don't let it get lost in the comment limbo, it's precious and deserves to be immortalized!

It's truly a brutal demolition of all the bonds we forge throughout the series with the leads, with each character, and so many poetic and delicate moments, especially between SSG and LY. I never imagined this lighthearted series would have such a melancholic ending. We fell in love with the Lin Yan of the past, we have bonds with him, and reincarnation erases everything we've built and assimilated. What depressed me most was the way the scriptwriters treated LY. We saw his suffering from the first episode to the last!!! And what compensation did he receive? What's the moral of the story for so much suffering? Just the constant loss of loved ones! They didn't even give him the benefit of oblivion. Besides living in suffering until maturity, they made him live a long life torturing himself with memories, having to live in a city where EVERYONE forgot the Shen family and only he, like a madman, was trapped in the memory of the experience that really existed. I don't believe this kind of sadistic series is due to censorship. There are so many engaging series, with even hot scenes (like the most recent, Fated Hearts, or The Prisoner of Beauty) that offer a coherent happy ending and convey a productive message to the viewer. This kind of ending in YYY is simply a choice scriptwriters make, because they CHANGE the original happy ending, turning the adaptation into a Frankenstein; no limbs harmonize with each other. This kind of conception contributes to discouragement, to disbelief in the positive responses that life offers, and hardens the heart. And it's not that we can't accept a sad ending. Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet is over 500 years old, with thousands of adaptations for theater and film, but it has an intelligent argument, a credible plot, and a development that gives coherence to the tragic outcome. In this series' case, from episode 20 onwards it was a total disaster. Out of 40 episodes, LY and SSG had minimal screen time, while we had to endure SJS and SSJ, two guffies, mostly with a kind of acting that bordered on circus. I feel the same way as you, and I remember well your excellent intervention on the issue of the erasure of a reincarnated character. I reflected on this, and you're absolutely right!

leaving aside the last episode, when do the main couple get together?is there any breakup/misunderstanding?if…
They only get together in episode 31. Before that, only 2 kisses, but she considers it a "sin" because she and her family believe LY is their ancestor. Only in episode 30 does her brother, SSJ, remember that Mr. Pei is the true ancestor. This revelation comes at the end of episode 30. Episode 31 begins with their wedding. Prepare your heart, because this joy is very brief, and the love scenes are superficial and fleeting. If you want to know more, I can tell you...

It's more insane than you imagine. In the link below, you have the description of the ending illustrated with the scenes, it's in Mandarin, but Google translates it into your language. If you are using the MDL app, the link may not work (the app does not open certain links), so open the MDL page on the web with the title of the series, look for this comment on the page and open the link there.https://www.163.com/dy/article/KCECU55I0539OAT3.html

You'll have plenty of good moments, but if you don't want to be sad, watch up to episode 31, when they finally get married. It's a celebratory moment where everyone is reunited. You won't miss anything by not watching episode 32. Everyone will return to modern times and forget everything they've experienced, with the exception of LY, who will live a long, lonely life, never marry again, and die old and alone (in the story, he suffered the loss of his parents, and the series gives him such a stupid ending). In the future, he will reappear, a fact that suggests he was reincarnated, and he will meet up with SSG again. They smile at each other, and The End.

It's truly a brutal demolition of all the bonds we forge throughout the series with the leads, with each character (with special mention to the Great Princess, a wonderful actress, Ni Hong Jie, who played Madam Li in Perfect Match), and so many poetic and delicate moments not only of the love between SSG and LY, but also of human relationships and the role of culinary in connecting people through flavor, aroma, and seasoning. The role of culinary is central; it's a metaphor, we are like seasonings that harmonize with each other.

Besides living in suffering until maturity, they made him live a long life torturing himself with memories, having to live in a city where EVERYONE forgot the Shen family and only he, like a madman, was trapped in the memory of the experience that really existed. These scriptwriters definitely hate men, proof of this are the characters SJS and SSJ, complete idiots, besides punishing the sweetest of men, LY, with a life of loneliness and eternal suffering! And as you said, there was no personal progress for SJS and SSJ. They started as two goofies and continue until the end as two goofies. And LFX is exaggeratedly intolerant, she never lets her guard down, the series failed to develop a real situation that women suffer in all societies, because they only focused on bad mood, without making clear the invisibility and contempt that women suffer.

So what good were the lessons if in the end everything is erased from everyone's memory and they're back to square one? On the other hand, SJS's arrogance is nothing more than a weak, low-self-esteem, foolish man. He constantly seeks self-affirmation in front of LFX, and SSJ repeats these behavior patterns. Anyway... LYR and WYL delivered wonderful performances, and only because of them did I make it to the end of the series, but we were all betrayed in the last episode.

lmfao My advice to you is to watch until their wedding day, in episode 31. The rest is better for you to discard and move on to the Blood River page. See you there! lol

Everyone here has expressed exactly the same sentiment. The series is captivating until episode 15. From episode 20 onwards, it loses rhythm and consistency. The plot becomes inert, the characters don't grow, and they become very repetitive. I love LYR and WYL, for them, I went all the way to the end, hoping for a spectacular happy ending after so much anguish, but...
