You're so kind! Thank you so much for this consideration. Your observation from yesterday is now clear to me, I understand your point of view. I have a passion for Chinese civilization and study its history in depth, with a special focus on art, philosophy, and poetry (Li Bai is one of my favorites). My love for China is such that I'm studying Mandarin (alone). I know I won't master it, my goal is to better understand the beauty of the structure of thought. I'm amazed by the complexity and beauty of the language. Thank you again for your kindness. I hope to exchange insights with you again!
I saw these scenes on YouTube three days ago. I hoped it was LY's nightmare, but combined with the video I posted a few hours ago, I'm starting to believe we'll get clichés... I think it would be a sad ending to LY's life, as he would spend his entire life unhappy. On the other hand, I believe in the possibility of SSG finding his reincarnation, giving meaning to episode 1, in which a man very similar to him appears in the first few minutes of the episode. For such a creative series, such an ending, if it occurs, follows the cliché, but the happy ending will make up for it...
I’m up to ep 24 and I’m not saying they should have cut out the storyline with the parents or other stuff…
I agree with you, the plot development lost pace and consistency in the last few episodes. This syndrome seems to be a characteristic of cdramas; it's rare for series to maintain these parameters until the final episode. Even so, the series is captivating.
I did a Google search in Mandarin to see if I could find anything about the series finale and found this video on YouTube (first link). It seemed pretty solid and I think it captures what we can expect from the series end. The second link has several scenes from SSG and LY's wedding (starting at 032'').
I've been missing you! 👋 Your comments are delicious, just like one of the Shen family's dishes! 😅 By the…
You're so dear to me! As for your Greek chorus, always commenting with wit and humor on everything that goes far beyond the words and the mere scene, it's simply a gem that I admire. Sometimes I laugh alone remembering your comments on the series "The Glory" 😂 (I'm laughing as I write 😂). Well... unfortunately the series ends on the 21st, it was so short (better for your diet! 😂), I'll miss it so much, I didn't even have time to recover from Fated Hearts... Tomorrow we have Blood River (Gong Jun and Peng Xiao Ran), it's not exactly my genre, but I'll check it out. Who knows, maybe I'll see you there?

Thank you!!! Since the series began, I've limited myself to simply reading the comments here every day, several times a day, but only today I expresed my feelings and thoughts. Your comment makes me very happy; you hit the nail on the head with the most relevant points to be raised in the series. Chinese civilization is incredibly rich, and if we don't know at least the basics, we miss out on a lot of the production's enjoyment. This series offers a rare opportunity to delve into China's cultural aspects through its powerful cuisine. It's an unforgettable and literally delicious series!

We're certainly here to enjoy good entertainment and quality productions. I'm a writer, a musician (I'm a pianist) in my country, and I also write scripts for electronic games. Art is my way of life. Writing is a great pleasure for me. There's nothing more powerful than our ability to create; we teach machines. My texts are exclusively written by me. I even have an article published here on MDL about The Double, a masterpiece. Well-written texts aren't always artificially produced; we can't generalize. I understand your opinion on the series; disagreeing is part of the process. Regardless, the world of cdramas is vast, but there's room for everyone; each of us seeks our own preferences, aiming for good entertainment.

I completely agree with you; I couldn't have said it better myself! This series enchants the eyes, the heart, and the palate. Cuisine is a poetic metaphor for human relationships, as each of us is a seasoning that harmonizes with another. The series conveys important Chinese values, such as reverence for ancestors, family ties, and the art of food preparation, which is so impregnated with rites and philosophy—after all, a people is known by what they eat. The love between SSG and LY is treated ethically and enveloped in extreme delicacy. The series is poorly rated but deserves a higher rating. It has cinematographic and artistic quality; its plot is well-written, all the facts are well tied together, without gaps, and easy to assimilate. It has an intimate setting that draws us into the scene, placing us at the table with the Shen family. The adaptation of contemporary concepts to the Tang context is simply brilliant and very funny. It perfectly balances humor and drama. The actors give wonderful performances, with special mention to WYL, LYR, and Ni Hong Jie (Great Princess and the same actress from Perfect Match, playing Madam Li). This series will be missed for the warmth it conveys, for its ability to take us to LY's home and make us walk through those gardens, to experience family bonds that resist difficulties and natural human flaws, for welcoming us as part of the Shen family, and the poetic role of cuisine in connecting people. The pleasures of palate/tastes affect our soul and extract from us seasonings that harmonize our coexistence with our loved ones. Thank you so much for your sensitive and well-founded comment!
I find this romance a bit uncomfortable to watch cause of the early kiss when she thinks he's her ancerstor. Marriage…
I've reflected on this, as have many here, but considering that the plot takes place in the Tang Dynasty (618-907, correct me if I'm wrong; I came to this conclusion based on the clothing, makeup, and women's freedom), and considering the end of that era, this happened at least 1,118 years ago. Even if it were a direct relative, in 1,118 years, that disappears along with all the combinations that occur in the formation of descendants. I think the problem they consider would be changing the history of the Shen family itself. Besides these factors, China is very careful with moral issues; an inappropriate relationship wouldn't pass the censor.
