Title The Double
Yes. 👍🏻After watching it, I haven't watched anything better. Before that, if my memory serves me right,…
In fact, WJY is not among the most popular actresses in China, despite having 16.229 million followers (and not just 1 million, https://m.weibo.cn/u/1278603180) on Weibo, while actresses like Zhao Li Ying have more than 90 million followers and Liu Yi Fei more than 73 million followers.

"The Double" stood out due to its impeccable script, production and direction, which gained dimension with the talent of the actors, with emphasis on Wang Xing Yue (at the time of filming, only 21 years old and with a little over 3 million followers, today with 6.321 million https://m.weibo.cn/u/3023889587?jumpfrom=weibocom) and for its artistic and cultural value. If you want to know more about the artistic, cultural and semiotic (specific symbolism of Chinese culture) universe of "The Double", I invite you to read the article "The Presence of Arts in The Double". The link is below, but you can also find it in the "Articles" section of the MDL. I sign the article and Cho Na, writer of MDL, signs the review and design of the article. So far, no production has surpassed "The Double": it is a masterpiece that is already part of the anthology of Chinese cinema. https://kisskh.at/article/the-presence-of-arts-in-the-double

I add Bi Zhi to that list!
We all have weaknesses. Despite the flaws you point out, Bi Zhi and Da Qiao are good people. I don't think Da Qiao deserves to be punished. After all, she followed Man Man's advice to go to Boya. Bi Zhi was recognized not only for his physical strength but especially for his good character, and he managed to form an army through his ability to lead. He fought for Boya, planted the Qiao flag to demarcate such a strategic territory, and led the opening of the road. Isn't all this effort relevant? Bi Zhi and Da Qiao were virtuous and do not deserve such punishment. They could have been less altruistic and just looked after their own lives. But they demonstrated their love for the family's political interests.

Wei Shao in novel won't pass the censorship but I'm satisfied with the process of him falling in love with Man…
I couldn't have said it better myself! 💕

The presence of Gao Heng and his interactions with Wei Shao gave me so many laughs hahaha.
Peter Ho had few minutes of screen time, but he delivered one of the funniest moments of the series!
