Why’d they do that to my boys Lu Ji and Wen Ji in the end 😭
Hi...Everyone was sad about this unnecessary brutal outcome, but in the novel "Marriage of the Di Daughter", by Qian Shan Cha Ke, on which The Double is based, they don't die. I hope this comforts you. In this link you can read, in English, the complete novel. https://bloomingtranslation.home.blog/2019/08/26/marriage-of-the-di-daughter/

There were specific rules in each historical period in China. The color green was the rule during the Tang and Song Dynasties. The Double is set during the Song Dynasty. You can read more about this topic at the links below.
will Ml be alive at the end? Or will it be a vague open ending?and Will the same story repeat in every episode…
Lol It was a good surprise when I saw you here! 😅 The series has an exciting rhythm, constant suspense and tension! There isn't a single monotonous moment. The relationship between XHY and LSQ is pure and delicate. All the characters are remarkable, I especially loved Lu Di (Zeng Ke Lang, the actor who is the emperor in The Double). The ending, besides being completely happy, has a poetic beauty that surprised me and made me cry! I'm glad you're watching!🥰
I’m traveling, so I’m just going to answer one part of your question. The tree isn’t a pear tree, but Wintersweet…
You're right! Not a typical HE, the romantic type that is so common. As you said, DS kept his promise in the spring. The originality of this HE is what makes us talk about this final scene for over 2 months lol

You are really very special! You have a sensitive attitude to everything and are always very fair, frank and careful in your opinions. That's life, a mosaic always under construction! We never know how someone might react with our good intentions, but it's always worth taking the risk, there are wonderful people here, like you. About Reset: I like this type of series/film because I love digital games and I'm also a fan of science fiction. This series is short, 15 episodes, the plot is intelligent and exciting! I think you'll like it!

Hi Filofretka, thanks for the comment! I also learn here, it's like a mosaic, each one contributes a little piece and this way we make sense of everything each one discovers at The Double. Right now I'm watching "Reset" (Chinese production from 2022, rating 9!). Super cool! If you haven't watched it, it's worth it. There are two series with the same name (one Korean and one Japanese), the one I'm watching is Chinese, I'm loving it! You can watch it on Youtube (in English). Thanks again! You are always delicate!
Hi Deni, you have a great opinion, the final scene left everyone kind of stunned and the reaction was so strong…
Hi Deni, I'm very happy and rewarded with the satisfaction you owe in the glimpse of these meanings behind the symbols. What caught my attention the most in your comment was your perception that all these elements are very poetic. I saw in this detail that you are a sensitive and profound person. If you want to have a very happy experience, be sure to watch A Dream of Splendor. It will be a journey whose end is rewarding! PS: If it is of interest to you, I can give you the sources (the links) of all the information I gave.

Hi Nervacka! Cool! You are completely correct! It's wonderful that you researched the symbolism of yellow and it certainly connects to what XFF is. You simply discovered one more detail about this makeup and they certainly chose yellow, instead of any other color, for this clear reason that you discovered. They could have used any light color, as makeup with soft colors was customary at the time, but yellow, as you highlighted with great sagacity, has a meaning, it is a subliminal narrative of the XFF, which is the heroism and nobility of the XFF's character . And you get ready... lol The entire series is full of symbolism that complements the narrative!😅 China is a civilization over 5,800 years, it's a country that deeply lives its traditions/rites/customs, many of them even today, like red for the bride and groom. I love these symbolisms! It's really cool that you bring this great insight!! ❤️
I'm halfway through this drama and the thing that angers me is that Jiang li's father does not give the benefit…
I feel like you, everyone felt this revolt. But in fiction, everything can be manipulated to achieve the objectives of the plot. In real life, unfortunately, there are many countries that punish children with even worse brutalities without anyone defending them.
Currently on ep. 7, was anyone else put off by the yellow eyeshadow as much as me? :D Idk why she looks like she…
The characters' makeup is planned according to the historical period. During the Song Dynasty (historical period of the series) women used pearls and the lightest and most natural makeup possible. I also don't like the yellow of XFF but all these historical series are made according to previously done historical research. This is not any influence from Chinese Opera(Canjun Opera, during this period), which also had its characteristic makeup, but a strong relationship with social issues. In Chinese Opera they use exaggerated colors of the warriors and each color has a meaning that is part of the theatrical narrative. But you're right, this yellow makes XFF look sick! lol
