This is what happens when the author is the screenwriter, y'all.
Last season, the focus was definitely uneven and characters weren't book-accurate (in appearance and personality). This time around, the book readers are (mostly) happy with the accuracy and those who haven't read the novel are enrapt with the development of the relationship between Tonfah and Typhoon. There's no split focus with the other couples (please don't get me started on the way this overtook season one).
All in all, I'm impressed with how Beside the Sky is developing.
Do you mean the cast & crew list here or the credits of the show? I haven't paid too much attention to the show's credits, but the information here is user-submitted to my knowledge. It may be that no one has submitted for the addition/no one has submitted it correctly.
Hard agree. No disrespect to PondEarth, but watching their characters in S1 was like watching paint dry. And in…
EXACTLY!!! I had so many issues with s1 Ter (I hadn't read the book yet) and the way he treated North in general; in the series, he set the standard for what a terrible friend is. I'm so happy with how everyone is being portrayed this time around (the exception being Arthit; it feels like they're trying really hard to make him either unlikeable or the comic relief).
He explained his predicament to his friends and explained he still wanted to feel like he can look after Fah from…
That's a big part of why I hate that they truncated Phoon telling everyone his story. I mean, the viewer knows most of it, but there are plot-relevant details that got cut too. Irks my soul.
I'm liking this part more than the first one. I could be biased because I loved tonfah×typhoon the most but this…
Hard agree. No disrespect to PondEarth, but watching their characters in S1 was like watching paint dry. And in my opinion, the season was so heavily focused on them, every episode felt like it was the HillTer show with special appearances by pretty much everyone else. I also strongly disliked S1 Ter compared to book Ter. So far in this storyline, they've made him more like the source material and so much more fun to watch!
Let me spoil you a bit. He chose his dad cz he was his only family. For the past 1 year after Fah dies he's been…
As someone who's read the books, do you mind putting your comment behind a spoiler? There are things that you mentioned that haven't aired yet (if at all) and I know some of the people in the comments want to see the series with fresh eyes. Thanks!
and I am confused episode 3 where Johan appeared on screen people said it’s Johan before meeting north? how…
Technically, it's Johan before he meets North officially. In high school, they never actually knew each other. When we see Jo for the first time, the doctors know each other (they're all in their 2nd or 3rd year at this point) but it's before the term begins. Ter, North, and Phoon (not to mention Dao) haven't met each other yet.
I finished reading the novel. Now i like the drama even more.. for those who dont know Fun's soul is always with…
I think 'maew' is the Romanized (English) spelling for the Thai word for cat, but I could be wrong. I'm literally basing it off of other BLs where the same word appears in reference to cats as well as speaking to (at?) them.
He explained his predicament to his friends and explained he still wanted to feel like he can look after Fah from…
This is one of the book details that takes place during the big reveal with Ter, North, and Dao. Basically, Phoon has always loved/been in love with Fah. I don't have it in front of me, but I wanna say that when asked how long it's been, Phoon says "since I knew what love was" (I may be misquoting; let me know if you want the exact wording). When he says that he just wants to be in Fah's life regardless of his position, they're kinda hinting at the fact that Phoon wants a romantic relationship but doesn't see it happening.
Phoon is an illegitimate child, a product of his father having an affair. So he's not biological in the sense…
The first season covered two of the books (please don't get me started there; I have big feelings). This season is covering three books with eight episodes for each. There is a separate MDL page for Beside the Sky (the story that's currently airing).
Guys, Phoon blames himself for his sister death, his parents blamed him and treated him like trash, he's lying…
Purely looking at it from the show (yes, I've read the books but this is something that they did touch on in ep 2) - Rit (Phoon's father) has forbidden any contact with Fah or his family. His assistant (I don't recall his name, but I also don't think it was mentioned in the show) tells Phoon on the ride to meet with his father that his (Rit's) standing with/impression on Fah's parents is very important to him, and finding out about Rit's infidelity (and Torfun's death, though that never made sense to me) could jeopardize that standing. Basically Rit's abuse and neglect has left Phoon fearful of being alone/unloved. In order to save his own skin, Rit has convinced Phoon that telling Fah the truth will result in more abandonment.
Sorry for my being a certified yapper in this reply. I hope it was a little helpful at least!
A few things (not terribly plot spoiler-y, but I'll put my thoughts in the comments behind a spoiler) :
There are so many cute moments between Fah and Phoon in the book that didn't make it to the series. And I kinda hate that they left out Phoon's (justifiable) crashout.
When Fah looks up through his hair? Lawdhamercy. Like, I am not your strongest soldier!
DID ARTHIT NOT WASH HIS HANDS?!?
I'm thrilled to see that the focus is on Fah and Phoon; in part 1 - specifically How Much is Your Love (Jo & North), they were treated more as a side couple. If I hadn't read the books, I wouldn't have known that it was actually THEIR story because too much time/focus was on Hill & Ter.
Tonfah and Typhoon's story, this one is the one currently airing. Arthit and Dao's story will air later
Don't quote me on this (because I can't remember where I read it), but I heard that they weren't going to do the fastpass. I don't know if that's for all of the storylines or just this one though.

I'm curious as to whether or not we're gonna get tattooed, blue-haired Dao...
