I love your thoughts! When I was younger, I very much believed in Free Will over a Predestined fate. Through the years of observing others as well as myself, I realize how very much is out of one’s control. Even our very DNA is responsible for so many reactions and responses. The environment we are born into has a vast influence. So I get that Fate is often the answer for many. Still, I like to think we have some influence and control over our lives, but maybe I am just fated to think that way. 😁

I do recall the general saying none of his friends had shown up to help them, which is beyond pitiful. Of course, the friends would then have been killed as well, probably. The unjustified deaths of her family was the shocking low point of the drama for me. Every family member was endearing and loving. What a waste!!

It’s so strange that lately I keep hearing arguments for and against free will vs. determinism in many varying things I read or listen to, and then the subject surprisingly crops up in a Chinese drama as well. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen flashback used to this extent in a drama before. Everytime the leads are facing danger or death, along comes a flashback explanation of how they eluded tragedy. Still, I find the drama worthwhile because of Elvis Han.
