None of the comments here really get straight to the point and have the answers im looki m for. Happy ending or…
It was unclear to me whether or not they will be a couple. The six friends are together at the end and seemingly enjoying life, but the conclusion was vague. ML and FL are certainly good friends, but there was no loving kiss or any indication that I noticed which said they are or will be a couple. So the ending is kind of happy but not blissful.
There are many lessons to be taken from this drama such as, you can’t stop progress; businesses have life cycles just like people; if one job falls through get another one even if you’ve worked for the same factory most of your life. But the only teaching that stays with me (because it has appeared in drama after drama) is that if your loved one doesn’t return your commitment with the same energy, for goodness sake, move on. I have seen so many cdramas (and kdramas) lately with a ML who falls head over heels for the FL who will play hard to get or who is super career-minded and needs a ton of persuasion to reciprocate his love or who maybe never does love him. And that’s fine for the FL; she is entitled to the kind of life she wants. But a ML who clings to her despite everything just tries my patience to the breaking point. When I see a charming, handsome ML like this one not leave his yearning for her and find another woman who will appreciate him, I start thinking he has an obsession and needs therapy, lol. I know some like to think there is one perfect mate in this world who is the only one for you, but I am here to say there are probably many you can find happiness with. Be steady and single-minded once you are married, but before that open your eyes and find someone who cherishes you. If the ML and FL were married in this story, I believe he would constantly have to tiptoe around her and worry that he is not pleasing her. Move on! I just can’t stand this kind of fruitless pining away. Maybe it’s just me.
If you listen to the ending song and read the words after that devastating ending, you might be sad awhile. I hate that the writers didn’t give ML’s character a chance to turn around his life. I kept hoping at the last minute it would be revealed he lived. He was pushed to make that one bad decision which led him to disaster after disaster. I suppose it’s a lesson to not make errors and choose wisely; that a genius IQ doesn’t mean you are smart in life. But I’m a person who chooses mercy over justice, and I hate this ending.Jing Boran was awesome, though. All of the actors did a great job.
Did anyone notice that when Fei Ke’s family gathered around the table for a meal, only he was given disposable dinnerware—a plastic plate or bowl and a plastic cup. Everyone else had porcelain and glass. That’s when I first realized what it was like for him growing up in that toxic home. My heart breaks for him.😭
First drama where people are enjoying main couple's breakup even though they were innocent.
And different goals. She is driven to be successful; money and power are more important than people to her, it seems to me. Which is a valid response; it doesn’t make her a villain, tho I would not choose that way and didn’t when I came to that crossroad. 52 years later, I am so glad I chose hubby and a lesser job. Sorry if tmi, lol.
What if all these victims have hurt him or his family in the past (unknowingly for some reason or they would have recognized him) and these scams are an elaborate revenge scheme? I keep trying to think of ways the ML is really not a villain, because I don’t want to say afterward that I saw this series and fell for the villain AGAIN. 😭😂
