The closing song is sung by Ding Yuxi and Deng Ancy 💖.👏
I love it when they do this. I will literally never get over the two stars of Goodbye Princess performing together after that heartbreaker. Chinese actors are so talented!

They have managed to maintain Shen Du's aura even though he is softer and sweeter. He's still looks scary and…
I’m impressed as well! This is one of the few times I’ve seen a drama get better and better as it goes along. Part of it is the sweet, loving relationship the main couple has finally reached. Sometimes the sweet part is delayed until the last five minutes of the final episode, or so it seems. 😁 I love these two!

I just feel like I have to say this even though I’m pretty sure we all know it: If you have to crush the feelings and self-worth of a loved one by pretending to scorn them while “loving” someone else, consider for a blank-brained minute that the cure just might be worse than the disease. If someone treated me the way FL has acted toward ML in recent episodes, I would never in my life forgive them because my trust would be gone forever.

This drama just proves the same old tropes can still feel fresh.
The truck swerving to miss the Lee Sang Yi character did it for me! I wish more dramas would twist the tropes like this; how fun it would be. But I do wish every single series didn’t feel it necessary to pull out a medicine kit to doctor the sweetie’s tiny scratches. Are thye little helpless children? 🧐

After ages I'm excited and waiting for next episode. I'm watching both live next door and no love no gain i think…
I agree with you, Exo_love. This is my favorite current drama, and I watch a lot. A big surprise for me is how much I enjoy Lee Sang Yi’s role, which is sending the laughs for me (and irritation as well as compassion) big time.

I’m happy to see independent, decisive female roles appear but am beginning to think writers of Asian dramas…
I would find them cringe, too, but probably less so when younger. I guess I like the attentive male trope but not when it goes too far. When a ML takes multiple abuses and comes back for more, I start thinking he has a problem.

Why is it that in almost every Kdrama or Cdrama, the ML's good friend or brother ends up falling for the unsuccessful…
I’m happy to see independent, decisive female roles appear but am beginning to think writers of Asian dramas have confusion over what constitutes a strong female lead. It shouldn’t mean they treat the ML worse than a wild dog in the street, kicking him to the curb for no good reason while spreading love and sunshine to everyone else. When a ML persists trying to win the love of such a female, I am honestly bewildered and disappointed; I don’t see it as romantic at all. What I’d love to watch is a ML who takes the hint and finds someone who appreciates him enough to treat him as a human being. Then the FL realizes she has made a terrible mistake and spends the rest of the drama trying to get him back. But no, he stays with the 2FL and has a marvelous, peaceful life while the FL grows from this step into reality and either stays alone or tentatively starts dating again. Just once! Please.

It seems harsh to me to call a mentally ill character spineless. Clearly he started in a deeply depressed state…
One of the hallmarks of certain mental illnesses is the inability to make good, logical choices. To put it plainly, with depression (and other mental conditions), cognitive functioning is impaired. They will make the same wrong choices over and over. I have seen many such people in real life who appear to be their own worst enemy. The ML was basically abandoned as a child with no loving guidance in his life to help him form logical choices good for him. Despise him for not immediately becoming sensible after brain surgery? I will never do it. He literally has no one on his side to guide him or empathize with his miserable life. If I stop following this drama, it will be because I can no longer watch the abuse toward this sweet person; it won’t have anything to do with supposed lacks in his character.

The most pathetic spineless character award goes to Lee Gun.
It seems harsh to me to call a mentally ill character spineless. Clearly he started in a deeply depressed state with PTSD, and losing his memories/having a personality transplant due to experimental procedures he didn’t acquiesce to hasn’t helped him all that much. Personally, I find him the only person interesting and complex enough to keep watching for and have much sympathy for him.

Yes SML kisses the FL and pushed ML into the pool. FL completely ignores ML after that.
Cold as ice.

I seem to be skipping parts of this drama and sometimes nodding off when I’m not fighting rage at how incomprehensible it all is. I wonder if someone could take pity on me and explain what just happened between episodes 11 and 12, because I must have missed something. Did the 2ML actually punch ML into the pool so that he remembered what happened and practically drowned, but was rescued by 2ML and FL, or did ML dream it all while having a fever? Because if it really happened, why didn’t they take him to the hospital? In either case, why leave him in the incompetent supervision of the 2FL? Does no one truly care about him except me?! While I’m asking, why is every conversation with the FL one step from gibberish, particularly with the deranged 2ML? I don’t know when I’ve been this frustrated with a drama. This is a mean spirited one with horrible people in it except for ML and quirky 2FL. I feel like the script has dug itself into a hole with no chance of redemption, but hopefully I’m wrong. 😑

so far Shendu side, there is Xu Wan and SFL now 😅😅😅
I so agree with your thoughts on this drama. I am frequently surprised at how often China (and South Korea) turn out stories with FLs who are labeled as “independent” which would be great, but who in actuality are stubborn, defiant, mule-headed and just plain mean to the ML while being charming as heck to 2ML, their bestie, and everyone else in the world including the villain. I have seen so many of these that I can’t take it anymore, even when I want to view a favorite actor such as in this one. If I sense a new drama is going this way, I usually leave and come back periodically to check episodes further down the line to see if things are more tolerable. What have I found here? The same pouty, aggrieved expression on the FL’s face as was in the beginning. I have nothing against her, just the character. I wanted to be excited but am disappointed instead.

Title Dawn Is Breaking Spoiler
Does anyone know of a Richard Li drama where he gets to clearly live at the end? (I know some have suggested that Dawn Is Breaking can be interpreted either way, but call me a pessimist☺️). I love and appreciate him so much, but why is he in so many tragedies? I hate SE the most!

Absolutely true for me. I used to get so excited about my Asian dramas and look forward to each new episode. Now I’m dropping nearly every one I start. This is so disappointing! What’s left for entertainment? I already dislike American TV and have become disinterested in British…Maybe it’s me! Perhaps you watch so many, you become saturated. Ugh, never mind. 😭
