I have laughed more during these first few episodes than I have in a while. One of the best tropes is that her sneezes bring him to her immediately, and it’s always awkward yet flirty. He goes from impossibly dreamy to scary red-eyed monster, and she is innocent yet smart. What an utterly ridiculous yet charming series. Lots of fun so far!

Thank you! I did try that and watched about halfway, then the site did a thing and kicked back to the beginning. (Why???) That did help, though, to see a little of it. I have a tbr pile; maybe I’ll actually go read a book, lol. I used to do that constantly until I became addicted to Asian dramas.🥹
Six hours later, Viki is still not showing me episode 13. Thanks for reading; I had to tell somebody. I am fit to be tied! This is one reason people quit streaming platforms.😤
I’m on ep 8 and I’m wondering if I’m the only one who finds Hua Yong really annoying and problematic 😅
I find him exactly right for the very rare and unusual type of human he is portraying. I think he’s supposed to be challenging and mysterious and inscrutable. And there is nothing he can do to annoy me, haha. Never. Enchanting and inexplicable yes, annoying never. But that’s just me!
I've stopped watching fantasy genre dramas but this one didn't have the fantasy tag on other sites except here.…
I would say the fact that the ML can change into a superhero killing machine due to a magical stone placed in his body is the fantasy part…I don’t think anything else is impossible in the real world. Well, enhanced martial arts too, maybe. Pushing people around by waving your hands is often seen in these Chinese historicals; it sure would come in handy!
