Luis’s ability to change her style of crying according to the character and situation has always amazed me and even here she delivers a magnificent performance. Modern cdramas acting can sometimes come off as trying too much but she does it so effortlessly.
Honestly this deserves praise just for the amazing styling of Lusi both hair and outfits, I could stare at her all day even if the plot is useless (but good thing the plot was good 🤭). And the clothes produced by the Yan studio was so sooo beautiful I was mesmerized!!
XJY was a useless and psychotic emperor but I actually felt sad when he died 😭 him and the princess really kept us hooked on the story when the storm alliance arc was getting dragged .
The writers did XJS dirty. Yes, he sacrificed his own people to get that throne and that is not a quality of an emperor but I feel like they dismissed his right for revenge when everything FSG and FYX did was to take revenge from the people that have wronged them. Kind of hypocritical of the writers 😭
The story as a whole is a 7. The screenwriter try to balance romances and palace politics with some success and…
XJS wanting to kill FXY was stupid but it makes sense that he wanted to because that unborn child has royal blood which means it might later be a threat to his throne. That’s why he said “your only fault was being XJY’s woman” to FXY.
Things I loved; - Multiple twists and turns kept the story going instead of just one big plot twist - My favorite thing is after getting together how the couple never gave up on each other no matter what, no stupid misunderstandings, just love and support through and through. - The FL came to the ML’s rescue multiple times contrary to the popular concept of ML saving the FL. She was defined as the heroic general of Jinxiu and that status was maintained throughout. - It was really touching to see how the FL really understood the ML’s temperament and acted accordingly and really grounded him during crisis. - Unlikenij other dramas the ML’s brother actually has a brain and did not fall for her mother’s deception. - The outfits of the male casts + royal family were really beautiful. - Xia Jingyan’s and Xiyang’s dynamic was psychotic but it was really fun to watch . - Really enjoyed everyone’s acting. Apart from the ML and FL, the 2 empresses and Xia Jingyan’s acting truly shined for me.
Things I was not a fan of; - The fight choreography of the villains were poorly done, they lost way too easily. - I am not sure whether I like the ending they gave Chengyang because he honestly could have made a great ruler. - The whole storm alliance arc seemed a bit unnecessary.
I’m honestly surprised by CZY’s acting. I have only watched him in hidden love before so it’s great to see how well he handled the complex character here 👏👏 This is my first drama of LQ’s, and initially I felt like something was missing but by 10th episode I could see that she had completely embodied the character and it was really interesting to see her quick change of emotions !
The princess going from extreme obsession to extreme hatred is insane 😭😭 I love her bravery now but how is the emperor’s and Feng Suige’s death Xia Jingshi’s fault 😭
Finally read the book and I have to say TXW is the perfect person for Changyu!! Her cutiepie face with strong determination and bravery makes the perfect combo for this character. Honestly can't wait for the drama to air.
She has so many years ahead to act so why does her company keep pairing her up with older actors when there are so many actors her age to pair her up with!!! It's insane how producers will cast 30 year olds for high school characters but can't cast an actual teenager in a age appropriate role. Stop exploiting a child and putting them in danger.
I feel like somethings were not properly explained in the drama but overall I genuinely enjoyed watching it. TXW was outstanding with her acting and the cp was a treat to the eyes. Some scenes felt like they were not needed and sometimes the editing was all over the place, but the cast delivered and the CGI was beautifully done. I also liked the overall set up of the story, it felt like a breath of fresh air without palace politics or sect politics. I'd give a 9.0/10 overall.
He is truly a remarkable actor because through LOTFG his micro expressions and eye acting really shined through and in Shadow Love more of his vivid expressions came through always delivering 100%.
he literally incited drama between the demons and the celestial masters. he is almost at the pinnacle of being…
But that's literally every villain in every fantasy story.... atleast this one doesn't want to physically hurt the FL. I mean I get the hate but personally for me I think he adds to the story than take away from the story, but to each their own.
Why is everyone hating the SML's character?? he is not even that evil (so far) to the FL compared to villains in other dramas! + i love the spice he adds between the main leads making MZY jealous without any toxic arguments with WZ.
