He lost her twice
I enjoyed the idea behind this drama, but I'm disappointed with the versions being uploaded because important scenes have been cut—including parts necessary to understand the actual ending. Without them, viewers are missing some of the biggest revelations in the story.
Fu Ting Shi eventually discovers that Luo Jing Xue really died that night and was given a second chance at life, but at the cost of her ability to love. He also learns that Song Nan Qiao had been faking her illness and that even the gunshot she supposedly took for him was arranged as part of her plan to eventually marry him.
For me, Fu Ting Shi was a weak-minded ML, and much of what happened between him and the 2nd FL was **his own fault**. He allowed himself to be manipulated, but he also made his own choices. After four years with Jing Xue, he secretly married another woman. By the time he understood the truth and what he had thrown away, it was far too late.
Luo Jing Xue, however, was my favorite part of the drama. She was always a strong woman—love was what weakened her. Once that emotional bond was removed, we finally saw who she could be when she stopped living for Fu Ting Shi. She knew what she wanted, made decisions for herself, and accepted her second chance at life.
That's what made her rebirth so satisfying. Fu Ting Shi wanted reconciliation, but some betrayals shouldn't disappear simply because the person who caused them finally feels regret.
He lost her twice—the first time through his choices, and the second time because she no longer had the love that once made her stay. 💔🔥
