Yeah I think it would be a bit awkward too but that's where the acting skills come in. Some people manage to completely separate their personal and professional lives. Easier than kissing someone you hate in real life lol

I think Chen Xiao and Qin Jun Jie are the only 2 actors who don't mind shaving their head for these Qing Dynasty roles and they look good in them. I have not seen any idol actors who would do it even for that time period.
