On My ID Is Gangnam Beauty Aug 25, 2019
I read the webtoon after watching the drama. I must say that Mirae in Webtoon has more character than the drama.
This drama is not perfect and I am not denying that it was hard for me to watch the last three or two episodes because it became boring. I probably wouldn't be able to finish this drama at all if it wasn't because of Eun Woo.

My problem with this drama is the female lead. I honestly prefer her in webtoon than in the drama. A lot of times I find her boring, annoying and frustrating. I do not get what they like about her - she always look distress every time she shows up and always need to be saved. The actress did a so-so job in portraying her emotions, sometimes it's okay especially in funny parts but most of the time it's just boring.

And there are times when I couldn't tell what the actors are really trying to show.

Kyung Suk also became boring later on and became cheesy. I do not like how suddenly the mother became the only victim and the one that get it all. Yes the father did a bad thing but in the first place it's not like she was also a good mother from the start. At least in webtoon she was aware of that and admitted it.

Title Six Flying Dragons Spoiler
This is a traditional sageuk with 95% fiction. Some of the events did happened in real life but most of it were…
A lot of what happened in the drama really did happen in history but a lot of them are also fiction.
1. The Nameless and the rest of the main characters.
2. Yes the clan/faction do exist but all history dramas have these set ups too and what happened in history with these factions and in real is different as well. Stating with King Gongnim's death, Hong Ryun vs Gil Tae Mi and the whole thing About Gil Tae Mi (the real Gil Tae Mi wasn't known as the greatest swordsman).
3. The relationship between Bang won and his wife.

and A lot more. You cannot say this is 95% or close to the real history when a lot of what happened is fiction EXCEPT the important events. The writers did the same thing with QSD and Great Jang Geum -where they mixed history and fiction together.

Title Six Flying Dragons Spoiler
Okay, I have so much to say about this drama I don't even know where to start from.Firstly, Gil Tae Mi, I love…
This is a traditional sageuk with 95% fiction. Some of the events did happened in real life but most of it were fiction. Po Eun's death was real and it was true that they smashed his head instead of using sword, although in real history he died at day... not at night. Sambo being killed was also real and him killing his two younger brothers were also real. It's also true that he killed his in-laws... and his son's in-laws as well.

Everything about the nameless, Mooh Hyul, Boon Yi and Lee Bangji wasn't real. And most of the things that happened were just fiction as well, starting from when he was a child.

I hesitated watching this before because I thought it will be boring and I am not really a fan of traditional sageuks with lots of fictional main characters. But after watching it, it's definitely one of the best k-drama I've ever seen. Almost everyone was perfect, the characters, the plot, the acting, the music and the lines. I loved QSD (another drama that was written by the same writers) but I must admit that I skipped a lot of scenes in that drama especially the long talks that made me bored. But with Six Flying Dragons, no matter how many long speeches there are, I never skipped them.

Probably the only thing that I didn't like in this drama was the romance. In all honesty, I do not think that they needed to make the Boon Yi and Bang Wo like each other, because the story can move and keep going even without those "romantic" scenes that I honestly find boring. It doesn't affect much of the story.

I also didn't like Mooh Hyuls change of heart since he was looking for a job to begin with,he could've been hired by a more cruel master and yet his grandmother and all of them doesn't seem to think that way. I love his character though, next to Gil Tae Min.

Person Lee Yo Won
I think her acting is often a hit or miss. She's good in some of her dramas and movies but most of the time, I don't really like her acting. I think the problem was with the way she talk, she talk like a baby sometimes. I think her facial expression is fine though because she can act with just her face but when she had to move or speak that's when her acting gets ruined.
She was so pretty though, not the stunning type but she has this charm that the more you look at her,the prettier she becomes and her face seems more natural than most actresses nowadays. Not sure now though, I saw her drama Avengers club and wondered if she did something on her face since her face seems so stiff in that drama... as if her facial muscles doesn't move (or just the camera filter that was used). And even though the drama was good, I thought she should stop acting cute because it no longer fit her age and her looks (since she look older in that drama)

I hope she will choose a project that will showcase her acting more.

Does this drama have gender bender in it?
The main lead had to pretend as a man for a while.

Even though I wanted to watch Boys Over Flowers, I couldn't finish it and had to drop it because of her. Her acting was so bad and annoying, especially with the way she pout her lips when speaking. She's not that beautiful as well. Her skin is so white and the makeup artist made it look bad by putting too much makeup on her face, I get distracted seeing some creams under her eyes. NVM the look but she was really annoying in BOF, up till now I still can't bear watch it because of her.
Much worst in Blood, OMG she was even more annoying in that drama that it made me wonder if Korean viewers never criticized her for that.

She was good in Angel's Eyes though, I think those kind of roles suit her better than the cutesy roles. Still I wish she will change the way she put her makeup on... sometimes she looks like a ghost with red lips.

Title Queen and I Spoiler
I refused to watch this drama back when it aired in my country, I thought that it was just one of those super cheesy drama that's full of corny "romantic" scenes. However after watching another time-travel drama that almost want me to puke because of it's cheesiness, I decided to watch this one. I never honestly expect it to be this good.

They used the time travel theme pretty wise I am just glad that the main lead wasn't stupid to not think that trying to change the past might have it's consequences. The problem that I normally have with time-travel dramas is the fact that a lot of things changes in the present time or the future just to make the main couple have a happy ending. Even lives of other people were change, sometimes even the past has change that it left me questioning a lot of things.

At least with this one, what's written in history wasn't change, all that's left were theories. Nothing has change in present as well since everything was reset from the start except the main couple's memories. And that the female lead was able to live her life in a world where he doesn't exist except the memories and for me that's the most important thing. So now it's as if he really was born and start a new. I think, the only thing I didn't like in this drama that kept me from giving it a 10/10 score was that... Yoon Wol's destiny, I hope we learned more about her and that she live happily and I hope we at least know what happened to the male servant after his master left.

Is this based on the real biopic of Queen Seon Duk? I mean being abandoned and she had to go through hardship…
No. She was never abandoned, live outside the palace, pretend like a man etc. wasn't true...but I read books about her and thought she was amazing, actually even more amazing than what this drama has shown.
She's not saintly of course or too goody but reading stories about her is just really fascinating. I wish they show that in this drama... too bad they gave most of those amazing feats to Mishil.

Title The Great Queen Seondeok Spoiler
You're mistaken, it is a storyline I really like - what I wrote, if you read again, that it's weird…
Actually most of them noticed that Deokman was odd because she look so much like a girl and act like a girl, they even tried to undress her just because of it . One of her comrades also felt something on her chest, Yushin found out as well but hid it.
I think it's due to the fact that they knew her since they were teens and grew up together. So even though she look so much like a girl and noticed that something is different, the thought that a young girl will stay with them and endure the harsh training for years never crossed their mine, I mean, like "why? why would a girl stay with them and train like a soldier?" - in time where girls must act feminine at all time.

There's romance :) although it's not the usual sweet couple moments you will see in most dramas. The focus isn't in romance but it's also strong part of the drama.

Though I do not hate seeing Nam Gil and even though I usually fall for the second lead - this time around it was different. Nam Gil looks good but I also didn't like how rude he was to Jin Joo at first and how he act towards other person sometimes as if he is belittling them.
I just wish to see him finally accepting his step-mom and appreciate the love and care she is showing him and finally be happy with having "mom" again.
