So excited to see SUNG JOON. One of the most finest actors. The first kdrama I ever watch was his Shut up flow boy band π he got me into kdramas. I watched all his dramas thereafter. So soooo happy he will be back

Dalmi's character started up great. With immense potential. But throughout the series she was reduced to a damsel who always needed to be rescued. It wasn't until the very last scene that she was able to pull off a smart move with the reporter. As far as dosan's character is concerned, he was a thankless dick to jipyeong until the very end. The writer could have at least shown him apologising for always unnecessarily putting the blame on HJP. Dosan's character was annoying because he constantly victimised himself. Sure he had his confidence issues but he also had a reliable family, friends and a roof over his head. Hot food to eat always. Not once that man was thankful for any of those. Constantly whining about the girl and his feelings of insecurities he got from HJP. Yes he has it bad but he never realised that the other person had it worse and there were far more things to be thankful for in his life. HJP-an orphan, a homeless boy who never once used his background to victimise himself or gain sympathy.
As I mentioned I did not personally like the plot of start-up. I only liked the storyline given to a particular character and only stuck around for him that is jipyeong (as did the majority I believe) So there is nothing to accept. And there is a difference between an imperfect male lead and a downright annoying and insufferable male lead. For me, dosan fell in the latter category. I'd rather not relate to the stupidity that his character was. But that's just my personal opinion π
The comparison was inevitable primarily because of KSH. I personally did not find start up unique or inspiring. Too many plot holes. So many things did not make sense. The chemistry between the 3 friends and the main leads was terrible according to me. Everything they did seemed childish and annoying. None of the characters & their storylines held my interest except for jipyeong and halmoni. I think regardless of whether the dramas has cliches or not, it's the execution and overall chemistry of the entire cast which matters. HTCCC has pulled that off imo. Whereas start-up failed miserably. Remember simply because a drama takes a non cliche plot does not automatically means it's great. King the eternal monarch is another example of such failed attempt
60% of their mistake was in the casting. They probably didnβt expect a relatively unknown actor at the time…
Casting definitely took them by surprise. But I am shocked they didn't even realise from the dialogues in the script that the SML is turning out to be way more likeable and sensible than the entire cast basically
Someone show the writer of Start-Up that this is how you write a love triangle. Make the audience like the SML make them feel bad for him but don't make him strong enough that people choose him over the ML. Don't cast that charismatic of an actor that he ends up over shadowing the ML.
Writer & director of Homcha has handled this so perfectly. I adore Director ji and feel so bad for him. But not once I disliked the ML because of SML. No once I wanted the SML to end up with the FML. From the casting of the main couple to the acting and chemistry pulled off by the respective actors the audience is totally on their side while all of them like and feel pity for the SML. Ands that how you pull off a love triangle.
Kim seon ho keeping me busy while I wait for BigBang to comebackππ I am so thankful for the wreck start up wasπππ Watching kimseon ho act warms my heart π
I loved ep 5 . I donβt know why people find her rude but in reality we all are like her . We all will look for…
I think regardless of her shortcomings, the director and shin min ah have managed to to make her character likeable. Very adorable in a way. Thats a mark of an excellent, writer, director and the actor playing that role.
Kinda looking forward to the 2nd male lead actually. Probably add another dynamic in the main couple's relationship. I am sure the director doesn't intent to make it heavy and over powering. It will probably end in a bromance and hella comedy
