They did not mention a new timeline during that scene but it doesn't seem like it's taking place in 1659. Because then it's 25 years after he met Gil chae and he is definitely not old in that beach scene.

absolutely love how they did not drag the romance between the main leads and the birth mother plot. They gave enough time & depth to the concerned characters and gave just the right amount of curiousity to the viewers about the plotlines. The first half of the drama is essentially over now and main plots have been disclosed. Now they will surely move towards exploring and developing these varied relationships. Brilliantly execute.

Also, I have a strong feeling that towards the end young woo will start her own practice and hanbada attorneys will join her.
