Even though I have come to like KSH more than NJH as an actor but I can't say that NJH hasn't acted well. He has done a phenomenal job as Do san.

DO SAN IS A FICTIONAL CHARACTER. Nothing written about hip or dosan or or any other fictional character is personal. Thousands of people are commenting on MDL on a daily basis. We cannot expect everyone to convey their opinions in a similar manner. There is bound to be extremism. Some may care more and some viewers may not care much for the characters. What ever opinion about any fictional character is being formed and in what ever manner it is being commented upon is purely subjective. We cannot and should not force anyone to curtail their point of view.
And there is a love triangle going on. We can hardly expect equal division of opinions. So of course the majority will try to backlash whatever the minority is trying to justify. But that shouldn't stop either from commenting.

the only reason dislike for NDS is being highlighted thoroughly in this comment section is because unfortunately for you majority is pro-HJP

don't leave salty comments like its not worth writing about dosan here because of all the toxicity. There is nothing toxic here. Its a platform where everyone has the right to share their respective opinions and engage into banter with each other. Of course we whine after each episode because the character we like and support is always being treated unfairly. But thats our perception. Even if thats the majority opinion it shouldn't stop others from writing their point of view. No one is stopping you. People may debate with you and not agree with you but thats what MDL is for. Writing dissenting opinions doesn't make this comment section toxic. And if you think its toxic then its your problem and no one else's.

I really hope that the writer or her team are keeping a tab on the viewer feedback. I want them to know that start-up's rating on Netflix or wherever else are high because of the star cast and continues to be high because of a character like HJP played phenomenally by KSH and not because of her writing at all. I want her to know that she failed and disappointed a large number of people with this mess of a plot.

I don't want to care about the love triangle but thats all they have focussed upon up till now. Basically everything HJP has done in the drama so far has been either for SDM or Grandma so I can't help but equate his ultimate happiness with them and it pisses me off knowing that DoDal is endgame. Their scenes together honestly make me nauseous and I skip through ALL of them

The way HJP cried halmoni and hugged her in ep 12 is similar to young dalmi running to halmoni hugging her and crying about her sister&mom leaving in ep1. THE PARALLELS ARE TOO MUCH.

Rating will surely come down. Major focus of the drama has been the love triangle and the whole plot as well as the characters are a mess (excluding a few )

Someone wrote this comment on Swoon's video of KSH as the SLS. It perfectly sums what I think about HJP's character. Spot on.

' He's simulatenously the most heartbreaking character of the story, the one who makes me laugh the most and the one who brings me the most happiness just watching. He's really dominating this show. It's kinda weird how he has little screentime but most of the plot revolves around him and the best scenes are him. He's everywhere but not enough. I've never seen a character like this. I think way back also I wrote it but I'll write it again. HJP is far from being cliched. Typical kdrama ML's are shown to be unnecessarily rude to the FL but possessive of her. There is a lot of manhandling as well. A lot of knight in shining armour scenes. HJP's character is anything but that. He maintains his distance from SDM. Even when he is jealous and upset not once has he been shown to manhandle her and be possessive about her outwardly. He is also never rude to her. He gives her a straightforward answer because she always demands for that.

Yes he does not coddle her. He does not follow her around like a puppy. Maybe thats why some immensely dense and biased viewers equate him with typical ML but again had he been a typical jerk there wouldn't have been this HJP wave.

18 Again - DRAMA OF THE YEAR. It was perfect. This drama had everything. Outstanding acting by each and every actor, beautiful OSTs, amazing cinematography, great main and mini plots that were all perfectly tied. Their was humour, romance, emotion. Just perfect. I was laughing and crying like an idiot through out the drama. Binged watched it.
I am still in awe of Lee do Hyun. He was brilliant.

It would have been way more fun if the writers had paired NDS & WIJ and HJP & SDM. Come to think of it both couple are just opposite of each other and the dynamics would have been interesting. WIJ could have helped NDS to over come his lack of confidence and NDS would have helped her in turning into a much kinder person. Same goes for HJP-SDM.
Uggghhh this drama is messing with my head. The story could have been way better than what it is.
