People are commenting about the hate in comment section and having long discussions about it but I barely noticed any hate other than a few spammer and getting unnecessary hate is pretty commmon to have in such anticipated drama. Some of you really need to chill and ignore those hate comments instead of giving them clout by discussing about them.
they changed the names, I was okay with it but from these 4 episodes I feel as if Yuan Qi is quite different than what I imagined him to be. His younger version in ALP sort of lived parentless since Shang gu was in a sleep and Bai Ju wanted to protect him from Wu Huan and didn't wanted his son to get attached, since he was planning the sacrifice. Even then Yuan qi seemed smart and someone with great ambitions. But here, he doesn't care about his cultivation and has no goals or ambitions. Just because a pretty girl saved him, he is willing to anything she says. Even to point of messing with Phoenix thing, so stupid thing to do for someone with his background. Somehow his younger version was more mature than he is right now. I get it that storyline wants to give his character an arc but degarding a character just so it could show progession later, doesn't seem fair.
WZM is a good actor but he's too much in his comfort zone. Almost all his drama are of him playing a serious CEO or professor. All his characters are carbon copy of eachother. In this drama aswell, he is playing his typical CEO self.
This is probably one of those few Xu Kai drama where the misunderstanding doesn't last longer than one episode. Whereas generally with his imperial and fantasy drama, half of the shows goes by in misunderstanding.
Sometimes it's not just love but also survival that matters. ZZ is a good guy and JXN might lead a happy life with him but let's not forget that he is righteous and selfless. He isn't afraid to speak of his mind even in front of the emperor himself, to a point that he doesn't think if his words can implicates his family. JXN even if she doesn't want to, has a habit to get involve in palace business. At the end of the day, all they could do to save each other is make a sacrifice for eachother. On the other hand, XW might be cunning and scheming but he is powerful. He understand the value of family and love because he didn't got one. He has loyal people and is capable to protect himself and his loved ones. He might not be able to compete with ZZ who ranks as the 'best man' in JXN's heart but he is best in his own ways. With XW, JXN doesn't have to limit herself and hide her true self.
Why am I getting this feeling that the when it comes to JXN and XW's romance, we are going get a last minute confession or something. Since in the beginning they already introduced the fact that all this is actually happening inside a novel, maybe like every other drama we are going to see both of them meeting in the real world from two seconds before the ending.
Is the XW a prince from the EF? and is his Father dead ? did he know that Ning was re birthed ? and is XW also…
Xie Wei isn't a prince instead he is Duke Xue's son (Duke's heir). Though he is closely related to royal family since his father is emperor's mother's brother. That makes him and the emperor cousins. Neither he doesn't know that Ning is reborn nor he had a rebirth.
Cheers to the Fl, she was so active in pursing and chasing ML earlier but now when it's clealy her fault she visited his office once and only left a few messages of him. When she should be thinking of ways to make up to ML, trying visiting him even if he doesn't want to see her and be completely swallowed by guilt instead she is visiting Yu Yao (who is still her blind date since she didn't even bothered to inform her parents about Shi Yan) and then showing Yi Yang her school, going on bike rides with him. I can already imagine FL's character traits being used as toxic ex- girlfriend in some other drama. Like male lead had an ex-girlfriend whom he really loved but finds out that all along her reason of approaching him weren't right. She didn't needed him for money but for showing off. She went on blind date and avoided his question. So he stopped believing in love and waited for the right girl.
Some people don't understand that the criticism this drama is getting, isn't the typical 'haters gonna hate' type. But because audience had expections that drama is failing to fulfill. I myself was highly invested in this drama since the drama was announced, waiting and anticipating for it since months. Infact to the point that I reread the novel because I was so excited. I get it that people who hadn't read the novel doesn't really have any comparison to do nor do they know what exactly is the problem most people are talking about. But I really enjoyed the novel and wanted for my non-reader friends to get the same experience throught the drama. But the screenwriters ruined the essence of the original storyline. FL is coming off as a complete red flag while the ML who is supposed to be genuis, looks lika a hopeless romantic who is completely colourblind to the red sign over FL's head. When you make a series/drama/movie based on a novel, the least you can do is keep the character's personality intact. They made this drama 36 episode long but didn't bothered to care about small details that could have made huge difference. And before someone reply to me saying "why don't you drop this drama, if you hate it so much?" Let me just say, that I am still hoping for it to get better.
They really should have made this a 24 or 28 episode drama. Both the secondary couple are basically going back and forth. GJ & BRS, both of them don't know what they really want (super toxic) while in the case QSY & YY, QSY is throwing herself to a man who is decade older than her (she is basically nothing but a second choice to him). All four of them are being used as a filler with no good storyline. The amount of screentime they take, leaving main leads with bare miniumum. Moreover, the little amount of screen time the leads have, get's used in their slow motion moment which are disturbed with phone call and FL being a red flag.
The FL and Yu You blind date setting is way too irritating. All FL needs to do is have an heart to heart conversation with her mother and seriously tells her she likes someone or she currently going out with a guy. But instead she mulitple times have gone on blind dates with Yu You (this a serious redflag). And about when her mother didn't trust her with SY being her boyfriend, she could have send her mother the couple photos they took together on the temple. Shi Yan already has trust issue and I have feeling that this all is going to come back in future.
Jxn never wanted to be the empress because she wanted power. If she wanted power, she wouldn’t have been that…
She suffered a lot and wanted love but she herself doesn't realised when her need for love turned into greed of power. To say she suffered doesn't justify of all her wrong doing. She ruined and used people. It won't be wrong to say that she became the person, she hated the most.
I get that FL likes ZZ because he was the only one who had selflessness and never demanded anything in return. But let's not forget that Yan Lin was once good to her too but she chose to leave him in his weakest moment because of her greed of her power. This comment is not the comparison between ZZ and YL instead about the FL (in her previous life) who has admiration and guilt for causing ZZ's prison sentence but not for YL and those servants who genuinally cared for her at some point of her life. Good thing, she got a second chance and is making it up for her mistakes.
The writer really did this drama dirty. Such a beautiful concept and they turned it into trash. I spend most of the drama, skipping the toxic character's plotting and hoping for the good part to finally come, only to drop it in the end. I watch drama to enjoy not to get mental stress. The idea of finding second love chance was beautiful, drama's main should have been on ML finally opening up and his journey to move on from his dead girlfriend with the help of FL. But the drama didn't really managed to deliver that message, once they were together the whole drama's point changed toward toxic characters and their plotting. Message: 'Once you find love, all your ex's and people who have crush on you will plot against you. Not only they will ruin your new relationship but also your professional life."

A doctor and a voice artist, now that's the trope I never thought of.
