Hey, it's sa jdrama remember? It's automatically a bad drama 😮💨
What's funny is that I actually have been enjoy J-Dramas more than K-Dramas these days (K-Drama is my usual genre). They feel more fresh to me with their writing. It's less formulaic and seem to be more likely to take risks. You're also more likely to get more niche stories such as ones focused on idol culture.
K-Dramas still tend to look a lot better since they have larger budgets but story-wise J-Dramas have been winning me over.
Yeah i don't understand it too i mean they can't help it since it's bcs of the current situation in the country,…
The South Korean President called martial law and almost turned the country into a dictatorship. It only was stopped because the other assemblymen rushed to the parliament to nullify it hours later.
The country at the moment is in the process of trying to impeach the president.
She had the most depressing ending. Hyerang did a lot of wrong and yet she gets to live on with freedom to do…
I mean....Juran's situation here reminds me a lot like Portrait of a Lady on Fire. The arranged marriage and even the final message. The message essentially being "I love you and will always love you but I cannot be with you. I will always support you, but from afar".
Are you me? My first ever Kim Taeri project was The Handmaiden but apart from that I hadn't watched anything of…
I just finished Revenant and it was a ride. Took a while for the story to pick up but once you understand "the rules" it gets a lot more interesting. The show isn't scary in terms of jump scares and whatnot but it's chilling. The horror leans much more in the psychological aspect.
Tbh I didn't think too much about Taeri's acting. The whole show just got me sucked in. I also found out that Revenant's writer also wrote Signal and Kingdom. I haven't seen Kingdom but Signal is one of my favourites of all time. So that's some extra points for me.
Guys I just finished Mr: Sunshine, I started it because of Kim Tae-ri and now I need therapy :(
Are you me? My first ever Kim Taeri project was The Handmaiden but apart from that I hadn't watched anything of hers. Well until Jeongnyeon.
Now I am going back and slowly going through her filmography. I've almost finished both Twenty Five Twenty One and Revenant. On the last couple of episodes now. I might start Mr. Sunshine next. I actually passed it up when it was airing as the plot didn't look that interesting to me.
Cant help it, its based on personal liking, which is very subjectives.i watched 2 other popular shows which i…
Also the drama hasn't even finished airing. I generally don't rate anything until I finish watching. I might like something early on but if the pacing is not up to my standard, it would drop points in my books. So I wait until I finish before having an opinion on the show.
Maybe with international fans but it's doing quite well in korea. Hopefully it will catch on with more people. I don't want to call it underrated but it definitely feels like it as an international fan.
And ig we know now from the preview for ep 6 that Sun isn’t kpop stan cause if she was she would have figured…
Nah, literally every fandom is a clown for searching crumbs (most notorious isn't even kpop aka the swifties)
Waiting in the dark for a man? She literally invited "Earth" to her house! But shhhhh let us enjoy our fluffy drama, what is critical thinking? never heard of that LOL
I watched the 1st episode and I can honestly say it wasn't that bad. I've seen worse BLs being hailed as a masterpiece,…
I haven't had a tonne of experience watching GL or BLs but have read and watched a lot of anime. I think the reason why you think these dramas are bad is because you take them too seriously. Many asian dramas follow manga tropes and aesthetics, so things like teachers letting students off the hook for serious incidents all follow the typical manga universe trope. It's a fantasy, not reality.
I'm so happy that IMDB gave 9.3 rating because GAP really deserves it day by day MDL users getting toxic
I just recently finished it and was kinda shocked to see a lower rating here compared to how much buzz is around the show.
I find a lot of the critique is from people with way too high of expectations or are expecting something closer to western lgbt shows. I haven't watched many BL or GL series but I do know that the style is supposed to a bit exaggerated and melodramatic. It's supposed to be cheesy and full of tropes.
I actually wrote off the drama months ago because I found it too cheesy but gave it a go recently and loved it. There were problems with plot, directing and technical aspects but it's a feel-good drama, I am not here doing film analysis on it.
It has been confirmed that season 2 will be coming to Netflix. I see no reason for it not anyways, hospital playlist was apparently the most viewed show on Netflix Korea.
K-Dramas still tend to look a lot better since they have larger budgets but story-wise J-Dramas have been winning me over.
Fo years during her SNSD idol days, her favourite food was sweet potatoes. It became ironically her thing. She was literally known for it.
