I literally skipped until they reunited, with him disguised as a doctor. Even then, I really didn't like that their unborn child had to die as a child of the prince instead of being acknowledged as her teachers child.

That is only valid if the ML and FL didn't have mutual feelings towards one another. If it was just the FL liking the ML, but the ML not having any feelings towards anyone, then it would be alright for Gu to pursue him. Wanting him while knowing he and someone else have mutual feelings towards one another would be hypocritical.
