Ohh. I didn’t know this info. It’s a good point to keep in mind I suppose , although I’m not sure it can completely explain what happened in between first half and ending. It does look like some things were cut in weird places though. Maybe this drama had more than a couple difficulties.

I rated it a generous 7.
It was alright. Actors are great. Costumes are okay. The story isn’t bad. The first half was really good and I liked the ending but the part between first half and ending was kinda weirdly paced.
And a lot of time used for characters just staring at other characters, staring at each other and then more staring. I’d say this is more of a drama for kids or very young adults. It’s cute and easy to follow.

…. And to be completely honest I accidentally stumbled upon Veil of Shadows while I was in the middle of watching this drama (probably popped up on my algorithm for being another JJY fantasy). And I paused this drama to watch VoS. and now I can’t help but to compare them which I know is not fair & impossible cuz VoS takes the cake by far and blows every other drama entirely out of the water. But after watching VoS several times I’m came back to finish watching Eternal Fragrance and it was kinda difficult to finish watching it til the end cuz I felt bored quite a bit. I don’t think that’s just cuz VoS being so good it ruined every other drama for me now though, I think something got messed up in Eternal Fragrance by the production team or the writers or something. There’s a disconnect between first half and second half. But again, I liked the ending.

Im disappointed too with current US everything… and I’m not a big fan of my own country tbh…. And of course I hate war, and I want peace with every nation & I respect every religion. Regardless of animosity & i cannot promise we’d agree on everything, but if you want or need someone to talk to please reach out to me.

I am genuinely sorry you are a victim of United States (my country? My birth.. ) drama or no drama. But forgiveness extends to you. Ai is replacing everyone. You have to accept the way of life.

Yeah. GMP is not an “easy” watch. Beware. If you’ve never experienced heartbreak before then you’ll never get through GMP. Some dramas can only be sustained by those who have already experienced heartbreak and catastrophe...
but Goodbye My Princess is good though. Good OST. Good acting. Etc.
GMP is a true *DRAMA* . If you want a good *drama* Goodbye My Princess is where it’s at.
Same as VoS. It’s a good drama. VoS is not an “easy” watch either. VoS is very advanced in terms of Cdrama.

Btw I know everyone seems to be extreme anti- ai but have you considered a convo w ai? Could answer a lot of questions. And more.

There’s always power struggles in any cdrama anyways .. power struggles are part of life.
basically you need a strong heart to watch GMP. it is worth it. .. imo. But you need an open and forgiving heart.
and seeing as you love VoS I think you’d appreciate GMP. It’s long episodes yes. I personally wish VoS was longer than 29 episodes though.
Some stories are worth it!!! have you seen Ruyis Royal Love in the Palace? That’s like 80-something episodes. And that one also one of my top favs. Actually the first cdrama I ever watched.
I WISH VoS was way more than 29!! VoS deserves to be 50 episodes at least. VoS is gonna go down in legend history. GMP is also legendary. And VoS is a new masterpiece. I swear! Mark my words.

But she is a better actress than Dilraba, who is way overrated in my opinion. and people still love Dilraba even though her acting is extremely limited.

So this theory that people dislike ChuRan because of limited acting skills doesn’t make sense.

I also really liked it in the first half before she got her memory back.

Really adore this drama. I would def watch it again. Gave it 9.5 because I think some parts could have been executed better imho. but overall it’s a very interesting, cute , funny, lovely action packed story.

Sadly a lot of audience viewers (I’m presuming girls & young women deprived of real world knowledge/experience) seem to misunderstand the prince ML, seemingly intentionally.

If a male lead lies to a female lead to protect her, he is "trash and deserves to die." But if the female lead physically stabs him, manipulates him, or treats him like garbage, she is praised for having "slay queen energy." It is hypocritical 100%.
It’s crazy how these beautiful stories attract toxic wannabe “feminists” who, ironically, contradict themselves by holding double standards and being hugely biased in favor of women regardless of her wrongs, and constantly hate on men and bash men in general when he does anything wrong in the slightest. It’s not cool.
Even when a woman has done wrong to the man to these toxic type of “feminists” it’s still comes down only to the woman being smart and strong and having her power regardless of the man’s wellbeing. For these “feminists” it’s totally okay to mistreat & even injure men while constantly nagging on about how women are constantly abused ..
It’s highly toxic & disturbing. They really need to relearn what feminism really is.

While the FL in this drama is a smart and strong woman - a woman absolutely does not need to be “strong”, or “smart” to be a valued woman or person who is deserving of empathy/sympathy and respect. It’s OKAY to forgive a man (or anyone) for their wrongs/mistakes. That does not make you a doormat, it does not make you stupid or weak.

And btw if someone does happen to be a little stupid or a little weak there is nothing wrong with that either. I’ll never understand why a woman needs to be strong or smart to be cared for and respected especially by other women.

Why giving away spoilers about another drama ?

I also liked episode 1 and the first few episodes too were not bad. But for me the story never really picked up until the last few episodes. The entire middle of the drama was a mostly drag. There were parts that were interesting but overall I find the drama quite boring.

Currently watching and at episode 22. I really want to like this drama a lot more than I do. I see people raving about it and hyping it up but I don’t see what they see.
I find myself spacing out as I’m watching. Although it’s layered it’s not that much of a complicated story… and sorry to say I think a lot of things are predictable, cliche, the side plots and pacing are a bit boring.
I wish there was more interaction between the leads who are supposed to be having a romance and it’s quite lackluster. It feels like their story is the subplot. I would have liked to see a lot more scenes between them in general. I think most of the drama is with other characters and their stories.
I consider dropping the drama but might skip scenes instead of dropping it.
And btw I’m watching this on Rakuten Viki free version and I SWEAR this drama has sooo many more ads than other dramas and not just more ads but longer and more obnoxious.
Update: I finished the drama by skipping forward dozens of times. Action picks up in the last few episodes. I rate this drama 5/10.

For the mystery part you need to review eastern (Chinese) philosophy and numerology. Especially “I Ching.”

That’s awesome. I loved her. Many complained about her cuz of her voice but I totally loved her in every way.

Interesting. I love this drama soo much. I’ve watched it literally 4 or 5 times. Lost count. And I still have plenty of questions. I think it might be my new top #1 drama favorite. For me in competition with Goodbye My Princess. If you have not watched Goodbye My Princess yet you should totally watch it.
But , where do you find this info about dragons being demons?

Good question. I’ve watched it through at least 4 times and learned a lot. Like A LOT. and I didn’t consider this question. But in the English translation Wu Yi describes herself as a “monster” ( not a demon ) and it worked on her too. Not sure if that’s a translation issue or what but it might be. So I wonder about that.
