This looks dumb but I need more Ji Hyun Woo in my life. I'm saving this as a silly rom com to watch when the ongoing ones are all dramatic and I need some brainless comedy.
I will probably drop this but I need a cute family drama after the domestic toxicity in Young Lady and Gentleman and the promotions give me Once Again vibes which is good. Let's see how it goes!
Since I'm in the minority that liked Season 2 I want to write my personal take on this series because it seems I can't move on from this drama lol. First of all, I'll talk about our heroine. From Season 1, we can see that Jo Jo is scared of her past. She wants to hide her trauma and her scars. She believes that by hiding things about herself, she will be loved. But when she builds up her walls, that's when she actually causes more heartbreak and misunderstandings not only to those around her but to herself as well. She breaks up with Sun Oh because she feels that she isn't enough for him, she feels "small" and insecure whenever something happens. She realizes that she doesn't deserve to have someone by her side like Sun Oh (or anyone for that matter), Jo Jo thinks that everyone is better off without her and so she pushes everyone away to be completely alone. She chooses to be hurt alone so others won't be hurt because of her. Then Hye Yeong enters her world. and he is the only one that can see how truly alone she feels. For him, all that matters is to make her feel loved and appreciated. He shows her how much he loves her without asking anything in return. With him, Jo Jo learns without realizing that she is enough to deserve love. He doesn't expect anything from her and because of that, she feels comfortable around him and her "walls" that she has built up slowly fall down. When she chooses not to tell him about the shield and the spear situation, she looses him and her despair makes her realize not only her feelings for him but also the fact that the only way for her to love someone with all her heart is to stop hiding herself from everyone and accept herself with all her past scars. Hye Yeong gives her the stability that she needed to feel in order to do that. As for the leads, on the one hand, we have Sun Oh. I didn't like Sun Oh from the start. He knows that his best friend likes Jo Jo, yet he kisses her even though she already has a boyfriend. That's a big red flag for me. And when 4 years after their break up, Hye Yeong tells him that he still likes her, he calls him a "jerk"? Uhm sure buddy, he is the jerk here. I don't like how he shouts at everyone and he was so immature sometimes (like when he was honking at the bus Jo Jo was in, pls this is peak childish behavior). Him and Jo Jo were a cute couple in Season 1 though and he was a good boyfriend, I'll give him that. On the other hand, we have Hye Yeong who is the reason I'll remain single for the rest of my life. No but seriously, he makes sure he is there for the fl whenever she's having a hard time, he is so gentle and respectful whenever they are together and he just wants to make her feel loved and less lonely. Even when Sun Oh dates his crush, he is careful to not harm their relationship and is there for them despite his own heartbreak. He is just the sweetest (and Jung Ga Ram's smile melts my heart)! On another note, I was really happy that Sun Oh and Hye Yeong reconciled at the end. It warmed my heart seeing them smiling at each other again. I loved this series despite how depressing it was at times lol. I loved Season 2 more because it was lighter, Hye Yeong and Jo Jo were ADORABLE together and we finally got the answers to all the mysteries. To be completely honest though, it was kinda slow sometimes. The cast was so cute behind the scenes! I love them. Their interviews made me giggle. Anyways, I'm patiently waiting for Jung Ga Ram's comeback in dramaland because I'm in love with him! I need to see him in more dramas!!
I mean since Nam has basically found out about Chief Secretary (slowly) poisoning the king (the teacups were always…
Yeah I don't know how it's going to end up for him. I didn't catch up on the teacups till the end of ep 14 lol I probably shouldn't be watching this drama with my brain off 😅
Lee Pyo suddenly not caring who really killed his brother doesn't make sense??? Also caring for his friends by betraying them makes even less sense. And it feels like it's a plot line that just serves more drama and obstacles for the leads and nothing else...Ah my ship was going well...WHYYYYY Yae Jin deserves better! Oof I was so happy that she slapped him, bring him to his senses, Queen!! They better not kill off any of the four main characters though, looking at you Lee Pyo...ugh the traitors usually die at the end because that's apparently the only way to be forgiven lol pls no
This drama was soooo good!!! A great message to love and forgive yourself! As someone who always thinks that I didn't turn out the way I wanted to, this drama touched me so much. It also taught me that even if I despair, myself is rooting for me to get through this (this will make sense if you watch the drama lol).
Hmmm… reading some spoilers/predictions about this drama wasn’t a good idea 🤦♀️ what a frustration!
Haha I was just doing that and I think it's better to just wait and see lol I really wish we won't have another break up but the whole world is against them...
Oh man I cried when DD was talking to YG and then to the kids through the door. Just let them be happy...The preview looks even sadder too. I'll just keep rewatching their happy moments for therapy.
Yup. DD's dad is a complete POS, and the f888k the rest of the family for just casually going on with the rest…
I keep reading spoilers because I don't want to watch ep 38 lol I'm not prepared for the heartbreak yet. They probably want to show the problems that couples with big age gap face but I know a couple like that in real life and they didn't go through even a quarter of what YG and DD are going through lol (and the girl's family was a strict family too). SC and AK are very selfish in general and I am curious how they're going to accept their relationship. Not that I really care (I wish YG, DD and the kids would go live somewhere away from everyone). Anyway, next week we'll get only one episode due to the Olympics and maybe it's for the best, we'll take a break from all the crying feast and drama.
And one more thought: YG and DD seem to worry about Jae Ni's dispproval the most, but I think her reaction will…
Haven't watched ep 38 but from what I've gathered it will be hard to get her parents' approval, so I had the same thought. There are other plot lines that need to be explored so I don't think Jae Ni's approval will be a big issue (like even she doesn't like the idea she will come around pretty quickly).
Soo it was bound to happen. I'm glad they're confident but I am scared, I have a feeling Jenny's disapproval might…
Oh also, I get why Anna Kim is concerned but does she really have to ask her if she's dating him because of money? Like, when did DD ever gave her the impression that she would do something like that?
Soo it was bound to happen. I'm glad they're confident but I am scared, I have a feeling Jenny's disapproval might be the turning point. I felt so bad for Dan Dan when Dae Ran was insulting her and YG'S face when Ms Kim was listing the names she called her 😔 so sad Btw, I love Ms Kim!! Anyways, our main couple is getting more and more adorable, I hope my instinct is wrong and nothing breaks them up.
Ahh I felt so bad for YG, I teared up when he was talking about how his mother and his wife died and that love is painful. He has been so hurt and lonely...I'm happy he has DD now to lean on and feel loved! :') They will surely go through a lot now that they're open about their relationship but I hope they remain confident about their feelings. Se Ryeon really made the right call. Man, her scenes with WDR (and YG) were acted so well.
